More details about what allegedly happened on the day of “90 Day Fiance” star Thais Ramon’s arrest for domestic battery have been revealed.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ, Patrick Mendes–Thais’s soon-to-be ex-husband— was the one who called the cops on her on May 22. Officers responded to a domestic violence incident at Thais’s home in Nevada after Patrick claimed she slapped him.
Patrick explained to officers that he had served Thais divorce papers two days before the incident– one day before news broke to the public. He claimed that he went to meet with Thais one last time with their two-year-old daughter Aleesi before she moved back to her home country of Brazil.
According to the divorce filing, Aleesi has been living exclusively with Patrick since May 6, with Thais living at a separate address since that date. (Patrick has asked for sole legal custody and primary physical custody of Aleesi, indicating that the little girl will be staying in the United States.)
According to the report, an argument broke out and “Thais slapped [Patrick] on the left side of his face with an open right hand.” Patrick allegedly had a mark on the left side of his face that was consistent with his description of the incident.
Patrick reportedly has a video of the incident taking place, but this has not been confirmed or released to the public as of press time.

When questioned by the police, Thais confirmed that she had slapped her ex, but claimed she was acting in self-defense. She also told the police that Patrick was “controlling,” which was a common point of contention in their marriage, as showcased on their various appearances on “90 Day Fiance.”
As The Ashley reported last week, following her arrest, Thais posted her $3,000 bond and was released. Just three days later, the District Attorney’s office dropped her domestic battery charge and cited “DA Denial” – a situation where the DA reviews the case and decides not to press charges. Prosecutors can still choose to press charges against Thais despite the district attorney denying the charges.
Thais’s representative later told TMZ, “Situations involving relationships and family dynamics are rarely black and white, and she has no interest in escalating negativity publicly.”

“Anyone who truly knows Thais knows she is a devoted mother, deeply family-oriented, and someone who has always led with heart,” they added.
Thais and Patrick are set to appear on Season 3 of “90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort” –which premieres Monday– to “work on their intimacy and address Thais’ continuous requests to move back to her home country of Brazil before she moves without him.”
This season was filmed over a year ago in April 2025, so it’s possible the couple chose not to recommit at the end of the season and have been separate since.
