Taylor Frankie Paul Checks In–Then Out– of Rehab Facility; Taylor’s Mom Defends Her Amid Her Legal Battles with Baby Daddies

Business as usual for TFP…

Trigger Warning: This story contains mentions of domestic violence.

‘Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ star Taylor Frankie Paul reportedly checked into– and has since checked out of– a rehab facility that provides mental health treatment. This blink-or-you’ll-miss-it stay in The ‘Hab came on the heels of her ex-husband, Tate Paul, filing for a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the mom of three and allegedly requesting sole custody of their two children. (On Wednesday, a judge denied Tate’s request.)

“She is focused on doing the work with her mental health professionals and checked in for a voluntary stay,” a source told Us Weekly on Wednesday. “She has since been cleared and departed. Her priority remains doing the work on her mental health and being a good mom.”

Taylor’s mom has jumped in to defend her daughter, arguing that Tate and Taylor’s other baby daddy, Dakota Mortensen, should not be trying to keep the kids away from Taylor.

In a post to Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Taylor’s mom, Liann May, insisted that both Dakota and Tate “know damn right that Taylor’s a GREAT mother.”

“Trying to keep [the kids] away from her is only going to hurt my grandbabies!” Liann continued. “They LOVE their mommy more than anyone or anything in this world & they both know it!”

Before the news of Taylor’s voluntary stay at a rehab facility, Us Weekly reported that  Tate had filed a for temporary restraining order against Taylor in a Utah court, as well as a petition to modify the terms of their divorce and custody agreement. Tate was reportedly seeking full custody of his and Taylor’s children– eight-year-old daughter Indy and six-year-old son Ocean.

While it’s unclear what prompted Tate to file the TRO against Taylor due to the filings being under seal, a source close to Taylor told TMZ that Tate was influenced by  Dakota.

“Who, ME?!”

People reported on Wednesday that a judge denied Tate’s request for the custody switch and temporary protective order against Taylor, stating that Tate’s claims were “based upon inadmissible hearsay, without any corroborating evidence.” The judge added that “many of the concerns, like the children not doing well in school and expressing sadness, will require ongoing attention not remedied with an emergency order changing custody.”

The judge also questioned Tate’s claims that his kids are “in immediate danger” with Taylor, after Taylor made the judge aware that Tate left the kids in her care in June while he took a weeklong vacation to Iceland.

“So apparently I’m only dangerous when you’re not jet-setting?”

In addition to her custody struggles with Tate, Taylor is also currently involved in a custody battle with Dakota over their two-year-old son, Ever, amid multiple domestic violence incidents and public allegations against one another. The exes’ rollercoaster relationship came to a head earlier this year, with TMZ breaking the news in March that Taylor and Dakota were involved in an altercation in February, during which Taylor allegedly choked Dakota and grabbed his throat while their son was in the room. The alleged incident prompted a domestic assault investigation in both Taylor and Dakota.

In April, Taylor–- who is currently on probation for a domestic violence charge from 2023 for an incident in which Dakota was also involved–- learned that she would not be facing domestic violence charges (which would have likely violated her probation) for the February incident.

“Looks like #MomTok isn’t the only thing surviving around here!”

In March, TMZ released footage from the 2023 altercation between Dakota and Taylor, which showed Taylor kicking, hitting and throwing metal barstools at Dakota, with one of the stools hitting Taylor and Tate’s daughter. (This incident is what led to Taylor being arrested and charged with abeyance to aggravated assault in 2023, after which she was placed on probation that was supposed to end in August.)

Taylor and Dakota have had TROs in place against each other since April, as well as a custody agreement that gives Dakota temporary custody of Ever and Taylor eight hours of supervised visitation each week. During a court hearing on Monday, however, a judge ruled that Taylor’s parenting time with Ever is no longer required to be supervised, according to TMZ. The judge also ruled that Dakota will continue serving as Ever’s primary custodial parent and will retain custody of the toddler during holidays, while Taylor will have parenting time on a designated day each week, as well as alternating weekends.

While Dakota and Taylor’s coparenting drama has seemingly died down in recent months, Dakota reportedly made a call to Bluffdale Police on Friday due to concerns he had about his protective order with Taylor regarding drop-off and custody of Ever. Officers reportedly contacted Taylor to clarify details and while there was no new altercation between the exes, Taylor seemed to hint at the situation in an Instagram Story on Saturday that was quickly deleted.

“Cops called on me again THIS WEEK… what are the odds?” Taylor wrote. “And it’s not people… it’s ONE person the same person. It’s obsessive.”

  1. Wow. A whole entire week at a cushy and posh “rehab”. Wonder how many spa treatments and facials she had at “rehab”. What a joke.

Taylor is faking. She is faking the exact way her lawyers are advising her too. Taylor lives in Taylor’s world. No one else but her and her precious tik tok matters. And sadly she will be back on SLOMW, the Bachelorette will eventually air, companies will keep paying her to promote their products and she will continue to be a menace. Because no one holds her accountable. Ever.

    1. I missed the post from Liann when I read this at first some reason. Liann is as much of an idiot as Taylor is.

Was she a loving mother when her daughter was dodging chairs while her mother acted like a lunatic? What about when a heavy metal chair hit her daughter in the head and Taylor didn’t even pause to check on her daughter. Or all of the visits she has missed with Ever? How about demonstrating domestic violence repeatedly in front of her kids? WTF with this delusional family.

Liann also lied to the police and to Tate and said there were no marks on Taylor’s daughter after the chair hit her. Congrats Liann. You’ve raised a selfish narcissistic loser in your image. And professional smiling photo shoots with your kids mean jack shit and she knows it.

  2. Liann is DEFINITELY Regina George’s mom. Soooo pick me … Cut the cord already and let your 30+ year old adult daughter with THREE kids fight her own legal battles. Holy shit

  3. I believe Taylor to be just as manipulative as her mother. I wouldn’t trust either of them as far as I could throw them, which is saying a lot since Taylor would probably go pretty far. 🤣

  4. It’s almost like if someone gets away with doing something horrible instead being held accountabke they just keep screwing up, huh?
