Amanda Conner recently revealed that her latest relapse and run-in with the law has left her jobless.
The ‘Teen Mom’ alum— who is married to Ryan Edwards—- gave her fans an update on her life on Wednesday, revealing that she’s trying to get a new job, due to her previous employer seemingly giving her the boot after she was arrested last month for DUI and child abuse.
Amanda gave the (frantic) update as she prepared herself to go to a job interview.
“Consequences, consequences!” she said. “I lost— well, I didn’t lose it— but the last job [I had], they were like, ‘We want your court stuff to be over with.’
“Court can literally drag and last from six months to a year, so I just went ahead and I’m putting in applications,” Amanda said.
The (second) Mrs. Edwards had previously been working at a rehab center, but was allegedly let go from that facility when she refused to submit to a drug test. (It’s unknown if this is the employer that Amanda is referring to in her video, or if she had a job in between.)
As The Ashley previously reported, Amanda was arrested on May 24 after Ryan called the police and reported that Amanda was driving under the influence while their daughter Presley was in the car. Ryan told the cops that Amanda drove away after he tried to get her to take a drug test. Police tracked her down eventually, but Amanda refused to submit to a test, causing her to receive a charge of violating the Implied Consent law in Tennessee. Because Presley was in the car, she received the child abuse/neglect charge, in addition to a DUI charge and a traffic violation.
Amanda later confessed to relapsing on drugs, and she is currently sporting an electronic monitor system on her ankle. (As The Ashley reported, Amanda was criticized when she recently posted a pic of the bedazzling job she did on her ankle monitor.)
“So I’m getting ready to go to this job interview,” Amanda said. “Fingers crossed I get it!”
Amanda also gave an update on the progress she’s made since her arrest.
“I went out of my way and— I wasn’t not [sic] asked to do this by the courts, I did it myself— I did a parenting class and completed that and gave the certificate to my lawyer,” she said. “And did a drug and alcohol course— it was 12 hours! Did that, and also completed that and gave that certificate to my lawyers. Fingers crossed hoping everything goes well.”
While many commented on how “hyper” Amanda seemed in the video (with a few people even busting out Barbara Evans‘ infamous “high! high!” to describe Amanda), she has insisted that she is now sober.
In May, she posted a video explaining her relapse. (As ‘Teen Mom’ fans are aware, Amanda met Ryan when both were in a residential treatment facility for substance abuse issues.)
“There’s no other way; gonna have to say it and own up to it and just post it. I relapsed,” Amanda said in the video posted shortly after her arrest. “I f**ked up and I relapsed after three years of me busting my a** and getting my life together, I relapsed. I think I got too comfortable, let my guard down and it happened.”
“…Just sayin’ that out loud, just letting it be known that I relapsed, it’s just so uncomfortable. It’s shameful, disappointed,” Amanda stated, before vowing to show her recovery journey on social media. “I feel guilty, scared. I’m not perfect. I’ve never claimed to be perfect. Life happened and I fell and I fell hard.”
Amanda— who was already on probation for causing an accident earlier this year— is currently facing three misdemeanor charges, as well as the child abuse/neglect charge, which is a felony. She is due to go before a judge for all of the charges on August 12.

It’s not normal to get put on probation for causing an accident hence the word accident. I feel like there is definitely more to that story.
How is she getting interviews?!
Amanda’s lawyer really needs to tell her to stay off of drugs and the internet.

How? She is required to be drug tested by the courts. Not trying to stand up for her but I am trying to understand how she can pass the drug tests?
Many addicts get very good at gaming the system and getting around drug tests. It’s really not as hard as people think. People like her would, easily,be able to figure it out. Hell she worked in a rehab center for crying out loud, lol. Most of the people in them are career addicts. I’m not diminishing addiction, just pointing out that some folks basically make it a lifelong career. They often get very, very good at skating the line when/where necessary to avoid getting popped, while still actively using.
Is she doing mandatory drug tests as part of her release? If she isn’t, they definitely need to. She looks like she’s either tweaking or manic in this video. And that lipstick…well, that’s a choice. 😬
I could have sworn the reason Amanda lost her job was because she refused to take a drug test and she was working in a rehab at the time. This was prior to her DUI so maybe this is another job she lost?
You don’t get a pat on the back for taking courses before a judge orders you to. Your lawyer tells you to do these classes “voluntarily” because it looks better in the courts eyes. It isn’t about her wanting to better herself or be a better parent. It’s about her getting away with the least consequences she can possibly get.
Anyone with eyes could see she was always a trashy addict. Maci putting on the whole “one big happy family” act, doesn’t look great associating your family with these 2 junkies.

Amanda is too good for Ryan. My theory is that Ryan is still sober but was cheating and got caught. I laughed at her bedazzling her ankle monitor. Ryan has always had his parents to rely on and, in some cases, enable him. Amanda has really never had anyone and she is even more “street wise” than Ryan.
I know the bar is low considering the two people we are talking about, and I despise Ryan – but at least he didn’t drive under the influence with his own child in the car, putting an innocent baby at great risk. Hard for me to root for her when she is out here still acting like a strung-out clown.
I think she is as big of a loser as he is and he’s stuck with her for at least the next 18 years. He was right, it is his karma. I love that for him.

Where I live a “junkie” is considered a slur. They should be called drug addicted individuals. Of course, you don’t live in America.
I live in America and Amanda is a junkie, full stop. Slur or not, she chooses to use, drink, drive while drunk and high, isn’t taking care of either of her children (and hasn’t been) and refused to take a mandated drug test at the rehab place she was working at because she knew it would pop dirty.
She’s an active addict who doesn’t want help, doesn’t care about anyone around her (or how she might harm them) and wants no part in her own sobriety. She makes fun of sobriety constantly. She is 100% stuck in junkie mode.

I’m not trolling, I just typically have some “hot takes” or “unpopular opinions” on certain cast members. For example, I think Barbara was a horrible mother to her kids, Chelsea was addicted to benzodiazapines at one point and her father (the dentist) is a creep.
I think barb is horrible too. The constant screaming.
Amanda hasn’t had anyone??? Meanwhile, her dad and step-mom raised her son for her for well over a decade (and I think the step-mom may have him back now?). Seems like they stepped up in a pretty big way. Amanda just wasn’t in the public eye like Ryan, so you didn’t see what her family may have done for her.
