‘The Challenge: Cutthroat’ Heads to Paramount+ for Season 42 with Familiar Faces & Crazy Drama: Get Details & Watch First Trailer

Me, still riding hard for this dumpster fire after all these years…

‘The Challenge’ is officially moving from MTV to Paramount+, with Season 42 of the long-running competition series welcoming back many familiar faces, as well as a familiar theme. Variety announced this week that “The Challenge: Cutthroat” will debut next month on Paramount+, with new episodes weekly, despite the show airing exclusively on the streaming platform.

Season 42 marks the second time that ‘The Challenge’ has featured the ‘Cutthroat’ theme, with the first taking place back in 2010 for Season 20.

More importantly, 2010’s ‘Cutthroat’ brought viewers THIS unforgettable Bananas Backpack moment…

This ‘Cutthroat’ season will feature 24 competitors– newcomers and vets– fighting for their share of $500,000 in Thailand. As in Season 20, the Season 42 competitors will be divided into three teams.

“The only way to take home a share of the cash prize is to cross the finish line together as a unit,” the press release for the upcoming season reads. “To win, nominated captains must balance their hunger for dominance with the need for loyalty or risk losing their power, while solo players must prove they can be team players or lose their chance at the winnings.”

…either way, host TJ Lavin gets to collect another paycheck while doing side quests on a paid vacation.

I love the disclaimer with Cory. xD I hope he never wins. Also so sick of seeing Bananas again…so will CT use him as a backpack again? I sure hope so! Also I just read it’s been 10 years since Brad and Tori (not Deal, Hall, the original Tori) divorced. And their oldest is already 15…man, I feel old.

Nelson should not be back. We don’t need drink driving, lying arseholes on the show, there’s plenty of decent humans to chose from. Besides he was shit at the challenges when he had 2 feet, ain’t gonna be any better with only 1.

Well we know Cory leaves in the middle because of his daughter being in hospital.
