Five months after revealing that she had been diagnosed with Stage 1 cervical cancer, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi is preparing to undergo a hysterectomy “very soon.”
In a video posted to TikTok this week, the “Jersey Shore” star gave fans an update on her cancer journey.
As The Ashley previously reported, Nicole shared in April that the results of her PET scan revealed that her cancer had not spread. Her doctor still recommended that she undergo a hysterectomy, though, to avoid the possibility of the cancer returning.
This week, Nicole went back to her doctor to be cleared for surgery, undergoing and EKG and blood work in preparation.
“That means my surgery is very soon,” Nicole said. “So, I’m getting a hysterectomy and trying to not to think about it or freak out because, you know, it’s like surgery. Like, I’m losing an organ … .”
Nicole explained that the procedure would not be done laparoscopically, but rather by an incision “like a C-section cut.” The mom of three admitted she’s worried about the upcoming surgery as she’s “never really [had a] surgery before like that.” (She did, however, remind followers that she previously went under the knife for a breast augmentation.)
Nicole thanked her fans for all their encouraging messages, and asked them to continue to share advice.
Nicole assured fans that “everything is good” right now and she’s feeling “great,” noting that she’s “trying to stay healthy, working out, [and] trying to eat healthy.” She also revealed plans to film a TikTok on the morning of her surgery so that they can “go on the journey with [her].”
