Jenelle Evans has released a statement regarding her ex-husband David Eason‘s criminal charges being dismissed on Monday, with the fired ‘Teen Mom’ star telling her followers on X that she never cared about the case— despite her eldest son Jace being David’s alleged assault victim.
The Ashley broke the news Monday that David’s charges for Assault via Strangulation and Child Abuse (stemming from his 2023 alleged attack on Jace) were dismissed. When asked on X on Tuesday how she felt about David’s charges being dropped, Jenelle claimed that the case was just to give those involved (i.e. Jace, David, etc.) “attention” and “drama.”
“I [don’t care] about anything to do with that court case because it was drama for attention from all parts,” Jenelle wrote.
Jenelle— who recently split with David (again) after an eight-month reconciled romance— also stated that she wants nothing to do with the case, despite it involving her son.
“Keep me away from all of it… I’m minding my own business,” Jenelle wrote, implying that she’s more concerned with her son Kaiser and daughter Ensley, who live with her. (Earlier this month, Jace went back to living with his Jenelle’s mom Barbara.)
“I have 2 other kids that need my attention,” Jenelle declared.
Now that the case is resolved, it’s almost certain that the protective order that was barring David from being around Jace is no longer active. Still, The Ashley’s sources have told her that Jenelle doesn’t want Jace to come to her home in Florida.
Followers on X appeared to be surprised by Jenelle seemingly accusing Jace of using the case to get attention.
“This might actually be one of the coldest things you’ve ever said,” one person responded to Jenelle’s post. “I’m like… actually in a bit of shock. I know you say things like this for drama and the engagement, but this really made me sad instead of angry.”
“So it’s no big deal that your son was abused by someone that was in your bed a week ago?” another person replied. “You’re a devil! Get help. Your other kids need protection from you too!”
Later that day, Jenelle responded to the criticism.
“You don’t have any details of the situation and the dynamics,” she told someone on X. “You probably will never know because it’s not your business soooo… of course you wouldn’t understand why I said this.”
Jenelle also commented about the infamous “Ring” camera footage. (As The Ashley previously reported, it was rumored that footage of David’s alleged attack on Jace that had been captured on the neighbor’s Ring camera.)
On Tuesday, Jenelle denied that any footage exists.
“And no, there was NEVER Ring camera footage to begin with but what do I know?” she wrote. “I mean IT IS my life.”
David has always denied that the footage exists. Shortly after he received the Assault by Strangulation charge in January 2024, he took to Facebook to make it known.
“I know you’re probably still wearing your Covid mask and waiting for aliens to fall out the sky but I can promise you one thing, THERE IS NO RING CAMERA FOOTAGE!” David wrote on his verified Facebook page. “If there was it would just prove my innocence…
“You can pray for my downfall all you want but you’re only hurting yourself,” he wrote in a second post that same day. “I will always stand strong because I’ve always done what’s right, no matter what you heard. So not only do your words not hurt me but they give me even more encouragement to be the best man I can be for my family!”
On Wednesday, the State of North Carolina filed a dismissal notice signed by the prosecutor in the case, Amanda Traywick. The notice— which was obtained by The Ashley— listed the reason for the case’s dismissal as “State’s motion to continue denied by the court. State took a dismissal.”

This confirms The Ashley’s report from Monday, which stated that the prosecutor requested yet another continuance in the case but her request was denied by the judge.
“The prosecutor explained that Jenelle, Barbara and Jace were not cooperating in the case anymore,” The Ashley’s in-court reporter said. “She stated that they had previously been cooperating but that changed within the last week or so. The prosecutor asked for another continuance so that they had time to get more info.
“The judge was not having it, though, and stated that yet another continuance would just be ‘kicking a can down the road’ yet again.”
David’s public defender requested that the case be dismissed, and the judge agreed.
(The Ashley’s sources tell her that it basically came down to if Jace wanted to testify or not. He chose not to, and “Barbara supported that decision.”)
David has not yet commented on the case being dismissed.

The 14 year old was in it for attention? Neither he nor Barb have said much about any of this in three years. As usual, Jenelle thinks she’s fooling everyone. It seems pretty clear that Jenelle dropped her custody bid in exchange for Barb and Jace dropping the assault case. Hopefully, she finally lets him go and stops using him in her failed attempts to look like a semi-decent mother.

I didn’t need her to make that statement being the fact she didn’t even show up or take Jace told me how she really felt about it. Sounds like she is bitter Eason is gone – makimg her look like a fool yet again, and sounds like Jace pissed her off somehow. Also the police report states they have 4 videos from the ring so there is ring footage that resulted in charges.
Jace declined to testify….case dismissed….but sure Jan, err Janelle, he’s in it for drama.
