As fans prepare for the first Kody and Robyn Brown-free season of ‘Sister Wives’, Kody’s ex-wife Meri is preparing to give her unfiltered take on the (allegedly) happy couple’s exit.
In a clip from the upcoming season posted to Instagram on Thursday, Meri and two of her friends discuss Kody and Robyn’s shocking decision to leave ‘Sister Wives’ after 20 seasons. (Make that 20 seasons, three divorces, countless family estrangements and one wounded kidney.)
While Meri once maintained a relatively friendly relationship with the couple, she reveals to her friends that she didn’t know in advance that Kody and Robyn were leaving the TLC series, seemingly because the two are no longer speaking to her.

“ … you know who’s not willing to talk to me? Kody and Robyn,” Meri tells her friends in the clip. “And then they’re like, ‘Umm, also, we’re not going to film with you guys anymore.’”
Meri admits to her friends that she doesn’t even know for certain if Kody and Robyn have decided not to film at all for Season 21. Meanwhile, her BFF Jenn Sullivan suspects that Kody and his (allegedly shy) better half have moved on from the show completely because “monogamy has become their thing.”
“I think back in 2010, monogamy became their thing,” Meri quips. “Wow, I’m gonna get sh*t.”

While Meri suspects the (frankly deserved) dig at her former spouse and former sister wife will lead to some backlash from the purple-loving pair, she ultimately decides she isn’t too concerned about the potential fallout.
“ … ya know what, [Kody’s] not filming anymore, so f**k him,” Meri says.
As The Ashley told you last month, it was confirmed in the ‘Sister Wives’ Season 21 trailer that after 16 years of filming, Kody and his only remaining wife would not be returning to the show. Moments before the couple’s departure was revealed to viewers via on-screen statement, each of Kody’s ex-wives teased the big announcement in store for the upcoming season.
“There has been a lot that has happened,” Janelle told fans, with Christine adding, “I don’t know how to process it all, I’m just going to be honest.”

“There have been a few changes recently,” Meri stated. “Kind of some big ones.”
As the trailer continued, Christine told viewers in a confessional that she had “no idea” what Robyn and Kody’s exit meant. Meanwhile, Janelle claimed she was “flabbergasted” by the news and Meri echoed a similar sentiment.
“I was actually surprised when I was told that Kody and Robyn weren’t coming back to the show,” she said.

At this time, Kody and Robyn have not revealed the reason behind their exit, nor has the couple shared whether or not they plan to return to ‘Sister Wives’ in the future.
Season 21 of ‘Sister Wives’ premieres Sunday, October 4 on TLC.

I really don’t think this is going to be permanent because Kody is definitely going to want TLC to pay for Robyn’s fantasy wedding for Aurora if/when she marries that Brodie guy.
Word on the street is that Robyn is actively trying to end Aurora’s relationship with her boyfriend. I don’t know if it’s true, but I sure wouldn’t put it past her.
Honestly, the only way I would watch season 21 is if Kody and Robyn aren’t on it. They are so incredibly miserable and it’s a weird combination with the ex wives being so happy and rebuilding lives that keep them that way.
Divorce looks good on Meri- she looks amazing!
I like her hair in that style and cut.
I keep waiting for The Ashley to release an exclusive on the spin off 🙂
They’ll call it “Kody & Robyn: Relationship Consultants”They open a “love coaching” business despite… well, everything.
Kody teaches “How to Divide Your Time Fairly” using a whiteboard that collapses every episode. Robyn hosts “Emotional Honesty Workshops” where she cries before the clients do. Every couple leaves more confused than when they arrived. The finale: Yelp shuts them down.
Best comment! Lol
