Collin Gosselin‘s tell-all book is making waves— and prompting a lot of ‘Kate Plus 8’ fans to suggest on social media that Collin’s estranged mom Kate Gosselin face any criminal charges for her alleged abuse of him.
During a recent interview with Page Six’s Radio, Collin was asked by reporter Evan Real how he feels about his supporters voicing their opinion that Kate should be thrown in the slammer for her past actions against Collin. (According to Collin and his book, those actions include forcing Collin to live in the locked basement, years of physical and emotional abuse, hogtying his hands and feet together and more.) Kate has never faced any criminal charges for the alleged abuse and continues to deny that she abused Collin.
“Everyone’s question is, ‘How is she not in jail? How is Kate Gosselin not in jail?'” Evan told Collin. “What is your reaction to that sentiment and people wanting to see justice for you?”
Evan stated that fans who have read the book and listened to Collin’s interviews are “really upset about the things that she did to you.”

Despite Collin stating that he is angry about how his mom allegedly treated him as a child, he had a surprising reaction to people who say they want to see his mom locked up.
“I think if we could go around all day and try to put people in jail, we’d be more hung up on them and not ourselves,” Collin said. “And I think everything that I’m doing today in my life— working, going to school, taking on challenges like ‘Special Forces’ and writing my story— your effort is sometimes better, it’s better to put it in the right places and invest that [effort] in yourself.
“Like I said, while we could run around and try to put everybody away, I think our time is better spent working on ourselves and growing,” Collin added. “That’s what today really is about for me.”
At the end of his book, Collin reflected on the anger he feels towards his mother and how he has dealt with it.
“I could stay angry,” he wrote. “In my opinion, I have every right to be angry for the rest of my life. But I’ve learned that anger keeps me tied to the past, and I absolutely do not want to live there anymore. The other option is I could just…let it go. Not because what happened didn’t matter. But because I don’t want to carry it anymore. I don’t want to wake up every day in fight-or-flight mode or feeling pissed off.
“I won’t ever forget,” Collin continued in his book. “But holding on to what happened only keeps me tied to a version of my life I’ve always fought like hell to escape. I’m not there anymore, physically or mentally. I’m free now and I don’t want to waste a second of my present or future living in a past that I worked so hard to put behind me.”
While speaking to Page Six last week, however, Collin stated that “it is possible” that he will file a police report against Kate.

“I have the grounds to do so,” Collin said. “And this justice is very important to me for all children to know that they should absolutely fight and they should actually look into what has been done to them and never stop fighting it.”
Collin stated that, as an adult, he has uncovered a paper trail showing that Child and Youth Services (CYS) received 14 complaints about Kate from adults who noticed something wasn’t right in the house.

“I am doing a lot of digging as an adult, and yes, we are looking into a lot and following the paper trail,” he said. “Absolutely horrific…I learned as an adult that there was quite a list [of people who complained about Kate]. A lot of the people saw, neighbors and teachers and so many saw that something was off.”
However, according to Collin, a lot of people who suspected his abuse never spoke up.
“Many people just turned a blind eye because they didn’t want to be the person that ruined America’s favorite reality show,” he said, adding that TLC— the network that aired ‘Kate Plus 8’— also protected Kate from bad press.

“They constantly covered her, and any dirt on her was just brushed away,” he said.
“…Law enforcement was called many times from what I know,” Collin added. “In CYS reports it says that police were notified.”
