‘Couples Therapy’ Renewed for a Sixth Season, Viewers Asked to Select Next Cast

If you enjoy watching celebrities whine about their relationship problems on-camera (and, let’s face it, who doesn’t), you’re in luck! In a press release sent out today, VH-1 has revealed that it has renewed Couples Therapy for a sixth season. The show stars power-eyebrow therapist Dr. Jenn. (She is now using her maiden name of Mann instead of her married name, Berman. She divorced in 2013 which is…interesting, considering her job is to save marriages.)

“The scrutiny created by social media today makes it tougher than ever for a celebrity couple to stay together, so Dr. Jenn will surely have her work cut out for her next season,” the press release states.

No couples have been cast for Season 6, which is set to premiere this fall. In fact, VH-1 is hoping that the show’s fans will tweet to them (using #CouplesTherapy) on Twitter to let them know which couples they want to see brawl on Dr. Jenn’s couches.

We’ve seen everyone from Bachelor Juan Pablo Galavis to Naughty by Nature rapper Treach (whom Juan Pablo hilariously kept calling “Trash” because…well, he’s Juan Pablo and he gets confused easily), to Teen Mom lovebirds Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra.

Although no cast has been chosen yet, The Ashley suspects that we may see another ‘Teen Mom’ franchise couple on Season 6. Other possibilities could be Mama June and Sugar Bear (of Here Comes Honey Boo Boo fame), and Mike Sorrentino and his new fiance. (Of course, these are strictly educated guess at this point– none of these couples have been confirmed or even mentioned by VH1.)

The Ashley will keep you posted on any casting news!

  1. Wait!! The Ashley, now that I think about it I guess there are two options which TM it could be. Does the MTV contract allow them to do another reality tv show?

    1. Not that I am defending her, because I can’t stand her. But many marriage therapists are divorced. You can be good at giving advice to others even though you don’t follow that advice yourself.
However, I DONT think Dr. Jenn gives good advice, just speaking in general about relationship/marriage counselors

  2. I second that this show is so fake, but it looks like freaking Citizen Kane in comparison to that Marriage Bootcamp mess. I can’t even think of anyone I’d care to see on it. Does anyone take Dr. Jenn seriously? Anyone?

  3. I think that’s a fake show, people just go on it because they need money. If someone has money, and relationship problems they are not going on there. The only thing they all have in common is that they need money, I’m very turned off by it because of that. I want to see the Hamm couple on there, the oil billionaire and his wife that are fighting over BILLIONS, think we would see them? No way, I rest my case.
