Mischa Barton Not Asked to Return to ‘The Hills: New Beginnings’ Because She Was Too Boring; Pizza Heir Caroline D’Amore Reportedly Joining Cast

From Mischa to pizza.

After just one season on The Hills: New Beginnings, Mischa Barton is getting the boot from the MTV reboot!

TMZ reported on Tuesday that the actress was not asked to return for the second season of ‘New Beginnings,’ with the site’s production sources basically saying that Mischa is too much of a snoozefest to make for interesting reality TV.

“Our sources say producers found Mischa’s story line a bit bland, and her personality a little boring,” TMZ reported. “Bottom line, she wasn’t bringing much drama to the show.”

Mischa was reportedly the only ‘New Beginnings’ cast member who was not asked to return for Season 2, with Brody Jenner even landing himself a $50,000 per-episode deal after holding out on signing his contract until the last minute.

“What can I say? I have no shame!”

With Mischa out of the cast lineup for next season, MTV will allegedly be bringing in newcomer Caroline D’Amore to contribute her own forced story lines into the show. In addition to being the heir to the D’Amore’s Pizza fortune, Caroline is a DJ as well as the CEO of PizzaGirl organic pasta sauce.

Her mug was also frequently seen in the background of paparazzi shots from the early 2000s, thanks to her tendency to party with people such as Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. (She appears to still be friends with Paris today.)

If Caroline is in fact heading to ‘The Hills’, she’ll already have at least one cast member in her corner going into Season 2. Back in 2009, Caroline appeared alongside Audrina Patridge in the horrible horror film Sorority Row and in September, the two were photographed at an event together with their daughters.

MTV has not yet announced when ‘The Hills: New Beginnings’ Season 2 will premiere.

  1. I hate to say this but they need to bring in younger kids. I get they are trying to appeal to the people who watched the OG (me, hi!) who are now in their 30s and possibly also raising children, but that doesn’t make for an interesting show. The most interesting last season was Brandon Lee, why don’t they bring in some of his friends?

    1. Excellent idea! The ones who are truly concerned with raising their kids and having a solid marriage (union, whatever…) usually drop out of reality tv for whatever reason and leave the spot open to the ones who can deal with the drama. Me too with the OG. It is nice to see them but the OGs need to get together and with each other and come up with a show and present it to production for something that fits their lifestyle and not what the old show is geared towards. It is all about the ratings when it comes to the cast.

    2. I totally agree with you about Brandon and bringing in some of his friends. I remember seeing Shaquille O’Neal’s one son at Brandon’s house for a dinner thing in one episode, like bring him on the show.
Honestly the ones I always say I like, all but Brody were new comers to the show, and kept it fresh(ish). Brody sleeping in the car to get away from a “psycho” Kaitlynn, and I actually liked Brandon’s story line with that brunette chick that got mad and told him he should win a Grammy because he was such a great actor LOL…I would’ve rather them follow that chick around, instead of that obviously scripted Stephanie Pratt and Audrina feud over JB. All of what Brandon, Brody and Kaitlynn dealt with was way more entertaining to me than the washed up 2009 story lines from every one else that bled over into 2019…had it not been for those 3 cast members, I would’ve stopped watching after episode 1.

      1. Haha exactly!!! They need young people who are hungry for fame and will bring the drama. The OGs are over it at this point and have learned from the past not to let too much personal stuff on TV (with the exception of maybe Brody and Kaitlynn). That Grammy comment still kills me.

        1. I know! I honestly remember more of what happened with Brandon that season than any one else. That whole whirlwind romance Brandon had with that girl was so dramatic but so entertaining, and she wasn’t even on the show that long! You’re absolutely right, the OG’s know what to say, what not to say, how to “act”, how not to “act”, and it makes it boring and predictable. None of them would’ve ever confused an Oscar with a Grammy, and that’s why that scene was one of the most memorable from that season, it was a unguarded and seemingly genuine reaction. Plus I would have liked to see that girls perspective of her relationship with Brandon, because she seemed to be in deep. MTV really just needs hand the show over to Brandon, keep Brody and Kaitlynn and regulars, and have the rest of the OG’s make limited appearances.

          1. Yeah exactly, I think that would be best. I mean I love Spencer’s shenanigans but he seemed to have grown up since the OG and redeemed himself?? This show needs a new villain.

          2. I know! He’s really funny when he lets his guard down, I remember he called Stephanie a “hell spawn” in a recent(ish) interview or something, which I thought was hilarious, but on the show he was too “cautious” and didn’t do or say anything too snarky/memorable…then Stephanie tried to come in and become the new “villain”, but she was just annoying.

  2. How about they ask nobody to come back. All of the story lines were stale except for Brandon, Brody, and Caitlynn’s, they’re the only ones that kept the show afloat…The Justin Bobby Audrina thing is played out, the Speidi thing is played out, Mischa’s biggest “confrontation” was with friggin PEREZ HILTON, Whitney’s always been boring, and please tell me Stephanie made good on her promise and isn’t coming back either.

    1. Guessing no one remembers when Heidi said the show was diverse because they had a couple of brunettes.
