It’s a Baby Situation! ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation’ Stars Mike & Lauren Sorrentino Welcome Their First Child

“Break out the Funfetti! Let’s celebrate!”

Mike Sorrentino is surely fist-pumping through the maternity ward!

The Jersey Shore Family Vacation star announced on Thursday that he and his wife Lauren welcomed their first child— a baby boy— on Wednesday.

The mini-Situation– who was named Romeo Reign Sorrentino— weighed in at 6 lbs., 8 oz. and measured 19 inches long. Photos posted to Lauren’s Instagram account show that Romeo was likely born via C-section, as Lauren is seen lying on an operating table in one of the photos.

Welcome Baby Situation!

“I’m not crying you are,” Mike commented on Lauren’s post.

The ‘Jersey Shore’ cast was quick to offer their congratulations to the couple.

“Welcome to my fam my gorgeous nephew!” Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi wrote. “So so so exciting for you my besties! God bless and welcome to my parent club!”

“He’s here!” Jen Harley wrote. “Love his name, he’s perfect!”

“Crying!” Jenni “Jwoww” Farley commented.

“Love you all so much!” wrote Deena Cortese. “[My baby] Cameron can’t wait to meet his bestie.”

“Congratulations brother,” Ronnie Ortiz-Magro commented. “Send my love to Laurenzz! So happy he looks like Laurenz and not you! Miss you bro!”

“Welcome to the family Romeo!” Pauly D wrote. “Can’t wait to meet ya!”

Earlier this year, Mike and Lauren answered questions regarding their baby’s name on the baby’s Instagram account. When asked if they had a name picked out, the couple revealed that they had a name picked but “changed it from the original we were thinking.”

Mike and Lauren also answered another important question during the Q&A: will they teach Baby Situation to “GTL?” (For those of you who actually had a life during the 2010s and have no clue what “GTL” means, that stands for “Gym Tan Laundry.”)

Mike assured fans that he would, indeed, be teaching his son the ways of the ‘Jersey Shore’ gang.

This is the first child for both Lauren and Mike. However, the couple tragically suffered a miscarriage after Mike was released from prison in the Fall of 2019.

This is the second baby to join the ‘Jersey Shore’ family this month. Deena and her husband Chris Buckner welcomed son Cameron Theo on May 1.

Baby Romeo is the 10th child to be born to the ‘Jersey Shore’ cast. In addition to Cameron, Deena has son Christopher; Nicole and her husband Jionni LaValle have three children together; Jenni has two children with her ex-husband Roger Mathews; Ronnie Ortiz-Magro has a daughter with Jen Harley; and Pauly D fathered a daughter in 2013 with a Vegas cocktail waitress.

  1. Congratulations to Mike and Lauren! They had to go through a lot to get their little Romeo, and I know they will be good and loving parents. Enjoy the special newborn days— they go by super fast!

  2. I am genuinely happy for them. These two will be great parents, and that little nugget is super cute! 10 years ago, who could of ever imagined Mike becoming one of the greatest success stories MTV ever had? Congratulations! 🎉🎉

  3. Sooooo happy for them! Congratulations! I hope everyone is doing well, especially if the birth was traumatic. ❤️

    1. How does my comment have downvotes? Really? You’re not happy for a couple who desperately wanted a child and went though so much trying to carry a baby to a successful birth? Wow.

  4. Mike is a Great Turn a around Story. So happy he found his person.
