Meri Brown Addresses ‘Sister Wives’ Fans Who Say She’s “Desperate” & “Pathetic” For Staying Married to Husband Kody

Meri’s take on the trolls/The Ashley’s take on Kody’s hair.

Meri Brown is once again defending her decision to stay in her loveless and sexless marriage with husband Kody.

Despite Kody and Meri admitting they have not been “intimate” in more than a decade and Kody stating recently that he could only offer Wife #1 friendship, Meri is determined to stay in her marriage. Fans have been vocal throughout Season 16 about Meri’s decision to stay with Kody, despite him being very clear that he does not want her, and him admitting that they barely see or speak to each other.

Meri recently took to Instagram to reply to ‘Sister Wives’ fans who have called her “desperate,” “sad” and claimed that she had low self-worth because she continues to stay with Kody.

“For the love of my 1990s hair mousse, Meri… please take a hint.”

Meri used the word “estranged” when referring to her and Kody’s relationship, before then addressing some of the things that have been said about her during the most recent season of the show.

She tagged herself in Flagstaff, Arizona,— where Kody & Co. reside— to let fans know that she has not left Kody. She also made it clear that she’s not delusional about where her marriage to Kody stands.

“A few months ago, I used the word ‘estranged’ regarding my relationship, in a conversation with a friend. It was the first time I had vocalized it, and it felt…. honest,” Meri wrote. “It was hard to use, and yet somewhat freeing. I know where my relationship is, I’m not oblivious to that…

“I try not to put labels on things but over the past few weeks as that ‘certain TV show’ has been airing, I’ve been labeled,” Meri continued. “I’ve been called by viewers, desperate, pathetic, embarrassing, told I have no worth and no value, and a plethora of other things that I won’t even mention here. In actuality, what you’ve seen is me no longer being silent. What you’ve seen is me using my voice to have fun and bring humor to a not so perfect situation.”

Meri went on to say that she will not be publicly criticizing Kody any time soon.

“But…why not? There’s so much to criticize!”

“I will always look for the best in people and situations, and hope they see it too,” Meri wrote. “I want to protect people, their emotions, the tough situations. I have never been, nor will I ever be, the person who will sit and publicly trash someone or something…”

As she has done before, Meri assured fans that she is not desperate or pathetic, claiming she is “doing a pretty dang good job” of “being happy.”

“The truth is, I KNOW my value. I KNOW my worth. Who I AM, what I want in life, what I aspire to be,” Meri wrote.

“I don’t let things around me that aren’t ‘perfect’ get me down, because my inner peace and joy is more important to me than that,” she continued. “I surround myself with people who match or exceed my energy. I have friends, co-workers, colleagues, mentors, who fill my cup, and I hope in some way I’m filling theirs.”

If Robyn is one of the people you’re relying on to “fill your cup,” prepare to be VERY thirsty.

Meri ended her post telling people she is happy with herself.

While Meri claims she’s happy, the same cannot be said for her fellow sister wives– except for maybe Christine, who decided in November to leave Kody after 25 years of marriage and relocate to Utah.

“Life is good without the egotistical frizzhead and his boss Robyn!”

Kody admitted recently that he is no longer in love with second wife, Janelle, but he does consider her a great friend.

Raise your hand if you’ve been friend-zoned by your own spouse…

  1. Mary is that dog that lives with the abusive family. She tries to be everybodies friend but, no one likes dogs. They only bring her inside once a year, after a trip to the groomers during the holidays. After that. It’s right back outside in the cold.

  2. Meri is hard to watch I fast forward her stuff. Too sad. But she sees this as her family doesn’t mind being an aunt and not a wife. I can’t watch that.

  3. LMAO! “I surround myself with people who match or exceed my energy… I dream with the lid off.” Obviously right off some life coaching blog or some wanna-be on Twitter. Too funny!

  4. Everyone needs to lay off Meri. If that is what she chooses to do, people need to respect that. We live in a society where women supposedly can make their own choices but yet when they make a choice you don’t agree with, you shame her. It’s ridiculous.

    1. Get a grip. She essentially decided to spend her life with her face pressed against the window looking in on a happy family and pretending to be part of it. That is pathetic. Not calling it out isn’t doing her any favors.

    2. She plastered her dysfunctional life on tv for the money. We are all entitled to our opinions on the the life she chooses to share with the world. Respect everyone’s opinion, and right to comment.

          1. Right…I just said having an opinion is fine. I’m talking about the rude comments and personal attacks.

  5. Words mean nothing- actions mean everything. She can say whatever she wants. We all see how this transpires and plays out. No one is happy. At least Christine had some sense and ACTUAL self worth and left the situation. What is “kind of ridiculous” is how Meri just makes excuses to justify why she sticks around like a sad puppy dog waiting for a scrap of attention and/or affection from Ramen head Kody that will unfortunately never come. Then there is Janelle- who went from wife to friend zone and also decides to stay. These women just don’t get it

  6. Why Meri still sucks up to Robyn is a mystery. Robyn is a conniving backstabber and I’m sure she trash talks Meri to her jackass husband. Kody only puts up with Meri on camera to stay on TV, so he and Robyn can avoid getting jobs to pay for that oversized expensive house they can’t afford. Meri’s a fool.

  7. Meri needs to work on her liquid eyeliner application skills.

This whole situation with the entire family is BLEAK AF! I don’t know why anyone would want to live this way. Just misery all the time. I’m glad Christine had some sense and left.

  8. Nobody wants to watch an emotional abusive relationship play out on their tv. If Meri likes being neglected, put down, cast aside and shoe’d away by her husband thats her prerogative but we as cable subscribers dont want to see it nor financially support it by continuing to fund Kody and Robyns madness. The both of them re attempting to emotional beat down each wife until she hs no self esteem and is begging for crumbs of Kody and Robyns love. I will never support abuse amd what Kody’s doing is 100% abusive.

  9. Crazy like a fox, raking in the money as long as she can. I doubt she gives 2 shits about Kootie or Sobbin. Milking it for all she can. When the money dries up, she will be gone I bet. Great moral lesson to teach those children.

  10. She should ask herself if her daughter was being treated like this, would you tell her to stay?

“You may have a fresh start any moment you choose, for this thing that we call ‘failure’ is not the falling down, but the staying down.” — Mary Pickford.

Honestly, I’m done feeling bad for this woman. She ENJOYS being a martyr in my opinion.

  11. She is pathetic. If she KNOWS her worth n value then she must think pretty low of herself. No women of real value would stay in that situation when Kody only wants Robbin. Meri is stuck and only has herself to blame for staying in that situation with creepy Kody. Meri wake up and run away and don’t look back you deserve so much better.
