‘Welcome to Plathville’ Star Kim Plath Sentenced For Her 2022 DUI Case

“Moral of the story: don’t stay married to someone like Barry for 24 years. Oh, and don’t drink and drive.”

Kim Plath‘s Florida DUI case is officially closed.

According to Starcasm, the status of the Welcome to Plathville star’s case changed Tuesday after Kim was order to pay a fine of $963, which she reportedly paid in full on the same day.

According to court records obtained by The Ashley, Kim ended up pleading guilty was placed on probation for nine months on February 28. She is also required to place an Ignition Interlock Restriction (IIR) device on her car for six months. (This device requires Kim to breathe into it before the engine of her car will start. If alcohol is detected on her breath, the engine won’t start).

In addition, her drivers license has been revoked for six months.

“I’d rather walk barefoot in the snow than ask Barry for rides, just FYI.”

As The Ashley previously told you, Kim was arrested in October for driving under the influence (DUI), property damage and personal injury. The 50-year-old’s arrest stemmed from a car accident she was involved in back in June 2022. Starcasm was the first to link Kim’s October arrest to the June accident.

Kim’s mugshot offering…

On the night of June 10, Kim was involved in a single-vehicle crash while reportedly driving from Cairo, Georgia, to Tallahassee, Florida. According to the DUI arrest report, Kim made a left-hand turn that caused her vehicle to overturn and end up resting upside-down on its roof in a water-filled ditch. At the time of the crash, Kim was the only person in the car, and she was helped out of the driver’s seat by an officer and a witness.

The report from the Florida Highway Patrol officer stated that Kim “appeared to be intoxicated and had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath and person.” The officer also noted that Kim had several injuries, including facial scrapes/lacerations, and dried blood on her face and mouth. When she was brought to the emergency room, she was placed in a cervical collar.

Though Kim was conscious in the ER but slurring her words. The officer wrote that she “appeared to be in a daze and had very red, glassy eyes.”

She also allegedly displayed droopy eyelids, dilated pupils, uncoordinated movements.

Interestingly, this could also describe Barry on most occasions…

Kim was informed by the officer while in the ER that she was being investigated for DUI. While speaking to the officer, she copped to drinking “two 12-ounce margaritas” the night of the crash. Following an assessment, the officer determined that Kim was under the influence and “unable to operate a vehicle safely.”

While Kim initially didn’t respond after being asked to submit a blood test, she ultimately agreed to do so– and “signed a voluntary consent to a blood draw form”– at 1:20 a.m. after the officer informed her of additional information, including “that a refusal to take the test would result in the suspension of the Defendant’s driving privileges for a year for the first refusal, eighteen months for a second refusal, and that her refusal could be used against her for evidence in a criminal proceeding.”

Lydia, imagining her life as Kim’s personal chauffeur.

When the results of the blood test came back in September, the toxicology report stated that Kim had a .161 and .162 blood alcohol content (BAC).

(The legal BAC in Florida is .08.)

After charges were filed against the TLC star and a warrant was issued for her arrest, she went on to turn herself in on October 22.

Despite Kim’s attorney arguing that Kim had been “coerced” into taking a blood test, on February 10 the judge in the case denied the request to have the blood test thrown out.

  1. Im confused, if her license is revoked for the next 6 months, why is she required to put an IIR in her car for the next 6 months?

Last I checked if your license is suspended you shouldn’t be driving?

  2. DUI laws need to be revamped. Washington State loves to put people who are suffering from chronic alcoholism in a blow a go. They get $10,000 in pure profit. It’s not about keeping the general public safe. It’s about money. Kim better wake up she has a drinking problem. The genetic link is too strong. If someone has a family history of substance abuse forgo the booze and drugs your playing with fire.

  3. Why did Barry and Kim stop seeing the value of marriage? Seems like Kim saw her kids sowing their oats and she wanted a turn. That is a shytty way to treat Barry and leave him. Barry find a woman who loves you and wants to serve you.
