It’s been nine months since Ariana Madix learned that her longterm boyfriend Tom Sandoval was having a months-long affair with their friend and Vanderpump Rules co-star Rachel Leviss, but Ariana continues to replay the memories of her former relationship, as well as some of the signs of infidelity that were right in front of her.
Ariana hints at some of these moments in her upcoming (solo) cocktail book, Single AF Cocktails: Drinks for Bad B*tches, available in stores December 5.
In an excerpt of Single AF Cocktails obtained by People, the former bartender details a particular moment of deception in her relationship with a concoction dubbed “Smoke & Mirrors,” which she describes as “A Drink with a Sour Bite.”
While the libation calls for ingredients like blackberries, vanilla syrup, lime and mezcal, it’s the story accompanying the recipe that calls out her ex and former friend. Ariana tells readers about a night where she believes Tom hooked up with Rachel while Ariana was in the next room. (Ariana does not actually mention either party’s name, though.)
“If you’ve been cheated on in a relationship, one of the most difficult things is to eventually learn about the multiple points of deception that took place–- the countless times smoke and mirrors were put in front of you,” she writes. “One night we hosted a party at our house with a bunch of friends. It was late, everyone was drinking, so she stayed in the guest bedroom to avoid having to drive home.
“In the middle of the night, I woke up and couldn’t find him anywhere, so I went downstairs and checked almost every single room,” Ariana continues. “As I was walking down the hallway I saw him leave the guest bedroom. He said he heard her walking around and just wanted to check if she needed water or anything.
“A part of me instinctively knew that wasn’t the truth. I told him I believed him anyway and we all know what came next.”
Other cocktails in Ariana’s new book that seemingly reference her former partner are “Midlife Crisis” and “Couples Therapy”– among others.
In an interview with People, Ariana called Tom’s actions “honestly really disgusting.”
“I mean, that’s the bottom line — it is really disgusting behavior,” she said.
Ariana went on to tell the magazine that what happened before, during and after “Scandoval” was even worse than what Bravo showed.
“The majority of my life is off camera, so that’s, I think, something that people will never see,” she said. “We’re talking 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 30, 31 days a month of day in, day out, moment-to-moment, lies, deception and gaslighting and horrible treatment [from Tom].”
Single AF Cocktails is available to purchase Tuesday, December 5. Meanwhile, ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 11 is set to premiere January.

I’m so sick of hearing about her, and him too. They have ruined VPR for me(not that it was so great to begin with). I just can’t watch this season after hearing of them day after day. Who cares! Many ppl have been cheated on, she’s nothing special, and neither is he. Wish they’d disappear.

I mean I can’t blame her… I’d be REALLY angry for a VERY long time, and I am not one to hold grudges. They were together for 9 years and Rachel was her best friend!!! It’s not like they were dating for a couple months or even a couple years. And for the 2 people she trusted the most in her life to do that to her right under her nose, man that’s gotta sting REAL bad. I feel for her. She’s gotta do what she needs to do to heal.
