Ratings in For Season 2 Premiere of Chelsea Houska’s HGTV Show ‘Down Home Fab’

That face you make when you realize your show just whooped some ‘Teen Mom’ ass in the ratings…

The ratings for the Teen Mom shows may be sinking faster than Jenelle Evans‘ home on The Land, but the numbers for Chelsea Houska‘s HGTV show, Down Home Fab, are still quite “fab.”

The second season of ‘Down Home Fab’— which stars former Teen Mom 2 star Chelsea and her husband Cole DeBoer—premiered last week, bringing in a respectable 569,000 viewers. The episode was ranked No. 84 for Top Original Cable airings for the night. (This number reflects live viewers and viewers who viewed the show on the same day it aired, by the way.)

According to USTVDB, ‘Down Home Fab’ is currently HGTV’s 13th-most-popular show.

While the Season 2 premiere did well in the ratings, it did not do as well as the first few episodes of ‘Down Home Fab’ Season 1. As The Ashley reported last year, the show premiered with 678,000 viewers tuning in for the first episode. The Season 1 numbers continued to climb as the season went on, even reaching a whopping 878,000 for Episode 3.

The high ratings for Season 1 prompted HGTV to renew ‘Down Home Fab’ for a second season after only a few episodes had aired, which is a relatively rare occurrence

While ‘Down Home Fab’ has maintained good ratings, the same can’t be said for the latest offering from the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise, where Chelsea got her start on reality TV. As The Ashley reported last week, ratings for the first two episodes of Teen Mom Family Reunion Season 3 were shockingly low, with Episode 2 bringing in a measly 135,000 same-day viewers.

(For those who don’t want to “math” at home, that means Chelsea’s show had more than four times the ratings that ‘TMFR’ had that week.)

“…but, judging by those numbers, everybody is NOT excited to see us!”

Just one day after ‘Down Home Fab’ premiered, Chelsea and Cole officially opened their retail store in Tea, South Dakota. The opening was a success, based on the message the couple posted on the store’s Instagram page on Monday.

“THANK YOU!!! We are blown away by the support we received opening weekend!” they wrote. “From shopping with us, sending flowers, sharing the excitement on social media, your presence has been invaluable. Your kind words and support mean the world to us, and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of this amazing community.”

  1. Horrible design style, it’s just cow this and cow that with a cowboy hat thrown in..two basic colors black and white. They are trying to become the next Chip and Joanna Gaines. They are nowhere near their level..

  2. I love Chelsey’s new show. I was never a big fan of hers on teen mom but she really grew up a lot. Her designs are nice and love seeing bits of her family again.

  3. Good for her! So glad to see at least one person capitalize on the platform they were gifted and not end up a trashy over paid teen mom turned into a trashy 30year old mom in substantial debt.
    Congrats Chelsea and Cole!
