In a preview for the upcoming HGTV series The Flip Off, Christina Haack gets emotional while discussing her split from third husband Josh Hall, telling her (first) ex-husband Tarek El Moussa that her children were very much in favor of her and Josh parting ways.
As The Ashley previously reported, Josh and Christina both filed for divorce in July after nearly three years of marriage. Not long after announcing their split, the former couple began publicly feuding on social media and in the press. They are currently in the middle of a messy divorce.
While Josh was originally slated to star on ‘The Flip Off’ alongside Christina, Tarek and Tarek’s wife, Heather El Moussa, it was announced after Josh and Christina filed for divorce that Josh had been cut from the show, which had just begun filming.
In People‘s preview of the upcoming series, Christina reveals to her (first) ex-husband that she and Josh have “officially split up.”
“We had a blow up,” Christina explains to Tarek. “Middle fingers in my face. Things with Josh have been bad for a long time.”
As Tarek listens to his ex-wife vent about her troubled marriage, Christina goes on to reveal that her children were privy to her and Josh’s marriage woes– so much in fact, that they allegedly told their mom that they wanted her to get out of the relationship.
“The kids literally asked me to leave,” Christina tells Tarek. “They told me he’s not nice to me. Why would I stick around? I feel like I’m in a tornado all the time and I just can’t get out of it.”
Christina shares two children with Tarek: 14-year-old daughter Taylor and nine-year-old son Brayden. She is also a mom to five-year-old son Hudson, whom she shares with her second ex-husband, Ant Anstead.
While Christina has been very vocal in recent months about her and Josh’s allegedly tumultuous marriage, she reveals to Tarek in the preview for ‘The Flip Off’ that she’s been personally struggling for much longer.
“Everything since like 2016 has been so hard and so horrible,” she says. “It’s really taken a really bad toll on me. I’m really sorry for s**t, too. I really am. I just want you to know.”
Interestingly, 2016 is the same year that Christina and Tarek announced they were ending their seven-year marriage. While the exes continued to co-host Flip or Flop together, the HGTV series ended in 2022 after 10 seasons.
In response to Christina’s apology and remark about the last eight years of her life, Tarek seemingly admits that he contributed to his ex-wife’s so-called “hard” and “horrible” years.
“I understand that feeling of being a little bit lost,” Tarek tells Christina. “And I acknowledge that I’m a big part, if not the entire part, of all of this.”
Not long after Christina and Tarek’s divorced was finalized in 2018, Christina married Ant and the two later welcomed son Hudson. By September 2020, Christina and Ant had split, with their divorce being finalized in June 2021. Just two months later, Christina announced her engagement to Josh, whom she went on to marry in 2022.
Meanwhile, Tarek and former Selling Sunset star Heather tied the knot in 2021 and welcomed their son Tristan in early 2023.
While Christina was, at one point, not on good terms with either Tarek or Heather, both have been publicly supportive of Christina amid her divorce from Josh. Heather even revealed in an interview last month that, like Christina, she was happy to see Josh exit ‘The Flip Off.’
“I mean, to be honest, I don’t wanna be mean, but it was kind of nice to see him go,” she told Entertainment Tonight.
Christina also told the outlet that she had confided in Tarek long before she and Josh split, claiming her (first) ex-husband was aware that things had been rocky between the two for “about 18 months” of their less than three-year marriage.
Christina added that the news of her and Josh’s divorce “wasn’t news” to Tarek.
Josh has not responded to Christina’s recent comments.
‘The Flip Off’ premieres January 29 on HGTV. Episodes will also be available to stream on MAX and Discovery+.
