Josh Duggar is once again trying to get himself out of prison.
The disgraced 19 Kids & Counting star— who is currently incarcerated in Texas— was convicted in December 2021 of receiving child sex abuse materials (CSAM). He will be caged in the slammer until at least October 2032— unless his latest plan works.
Arkansas’ KNWA Fox 24 broke the news on Wednesday that the Duggar family felon filed a motion on Tuesday with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. No longer represented by a lawyer, Josh asked a judge to appoint him a lawyer who can help him fight to overturn his conviction. In his letter to the judge, Josh stated that he can no longer afford a private attorney and therefore needs a public defender.
“I am unable to afford counsel due to my current financial circumstances,” Josh wrote.
Josh stated that he needs a court-appointed lawyer who can help him figure out if there had been “constitutional violations” in his case. If so, Josh is requesting that the judge “prepare a motion to vacate, set aside or correct my conviction and sentence.”
“[I request] to consult with counsel to fully evaluate the potential of these emerging strategies and how they may support a motion for relief,” Josh wrote.
This is certainly not the first attempt by Josh to get the court to take another look at his case and/or get himself released.
In 2022, Josh filed an appeal, claiming that his former friend Caleb Williams is to blame for the child sex abuse material (CSAM) found on the work computer of Josh’s now-shuttered car lot, Wholesale Motorcars. Later that year, Josh and his legal team continued its arguments to have the reality star be granted a new trial for receiving child sex abuse materials (CSAM). The team alleged Josh’s rights were violated during the raid on his business in 2019 and that he was denied the ability to present a case against Caleb during his 2021 trial.
Josh’s lawyers fought for a new trial for their felonious client in 2023, but in August of that year, Josh’s appeal and request for a new trial were denied. Despite getting shut down over and over, Josh then petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court to ask for another trial, but in June 2024 was denied yet again.
During his most-recent request, Josh tells the judge that his trial “involved complex constitutional and evidentiary issues, particularly relating to legal rulings and strategic decisions made during trial proceedings” and “errors in the admission of forensic evidence.”
He even stated that, because of his fame, the “broad publicity of this case” and “intense scrutiny” the case was under warrants him a “full and fair post-conviction review.”

This is interesting though. Why did JB cut Josh off now? I very much expect them to stand firmly behind him as well as hoping to return him to Anna, so I never thought the appeals would end until he got out. What happened all of the sudden?
“I’ll just pray he gets better” is the exact mindset jimbob and michelle had whenever They “handled” Josh’s issues. This mindset is what led to their daughters being abused and also led to the own parents covering it up. Instead of protecting their daughters, they decided to protect their pedophile son. He meant more to them. This whole idea that we think we can “pray” away pedophilia needs to die. They are a danger to society and need to be locked up.

So he goes all the way through appeals, and none of those lawyers who reviewed it brought up his constitutional rights being violated and now he thinks they were? The judge will deny this too.
I believe everyone should have proper defense, but I also believe he should shut up, and rot. I’m ok being that kind of hypocrite.
As far as I’m concerned he should for in prison for good , but can’t he get his wife to go blow trump a few times and get a pardon? It worked for the Chisleys.
People like Josh Duggar are raised to believe that when they do something wrong it isn’t that bad. That fundamentally because they’re Christians they are good people who sometimes make mistakes. Basically, he thinks he’s special. Non Christian’s though are all sinners and bad people. He is probable indignant that they would dare send him to prison among all those criminals.
I am a true crime junkie and have read and seen really deplorable shit. But I will NEVER forget reading the FBI report about the violent CSAM that Josh possessed and downloaded including abuse of a baby. All of the victims depicted in his disgusting CSAM were in between the ages of his 7 children.
Don’t even get me started on his trad wife, Anna who dutifully visits this predator with their 7 children. Of course the papers say that his visits with his children have strict rules. The “strict rules” are that he can’t see his children unsupervised but can see them as long as Anna supervised the prison visits. Anna will close her eyes and turn around if Josh asked her yo so that’s just more bullshit.
He should have done prison for LIFE and be barred from access to his children ever again. And if Anna’s dumbass won’t protect her children from their predator father then she shouldn’t have custody either. F@CK HIM!! Those kids deserve safety, not loyalty to a disgusting abuser.
What isn’t a stretch is that we are all wondering who felon twice impeached felon sexual predator President will pardon next.

I can’t even imagine being in the courtroom. I’m sure it was way more graphic in the courtroom. Just reading the limited amount that’s been released to the public is traumatic. I can only imagine how much harder it was to hear it firsthand.
That’s so awful. One of the cops said it was the most disturbing material he had ever seen.
If the detective who deals with this deplorable shit every day says it’s the worst that he had ever seen, you know it’s really, really bad. I’m honestly horrified without knowing all the details. I did read some but I had to stop.
I’ve been passionate about criminal investigations for over 30 years. I’ve read and seen a lot of tough stuff, but I couldn’t get to the end of an article about that infamous D. file. I don’t know how you could stay in the courtroom and listen to that without throwing up.
Josh deserves all his years in prison and much worse!

Sex offenders can’t be rehabilitated. Once they have the urge, they always have the urge.
He can’t be alone with his kids and he has to register as a sex offender.
Hopefully there will be enough measures put in place to protect kids from him, but the recidivism rate is really high with sex offenders.

How long until he gets his pardon?
There’s no amount of money thru contributions will Trump pardon a pedophile and that’s just facts. The Chrisleys did their time and to be frank pedophile get less time as did Josh when he was free for years after he preyed on his sistersnot prayed but preyed! He got his chances and now he gots his reptence and i hope he gets more!
Josh will remain in prison, where he should be for life, until 2023.. a public defender will never come close to overturning based on their caseload without sex pest’s issues
