Josh Duggar’s time behind bars has been extended– again.
According to The Sun, the disgraced former 19 Kids and Counting star’s release date from prison has been pushed back by nearly three months, just weeks after the court denied his request for a court appointed attorney to challenge his conviction for receiving child sex abuse materials (CSAM).
Josh is currently incarcerated after being convicted for his crimes in December 2021 and, until recently, he was set to be released in early October 2032. According to The Sun, however, Josh’s release date has now been pushed back to December 23, 2032.

This is actually the second time Josh’s release date has been postponed, as the father of seven was initially set to be released from FCI Seagoville in Texas on August 12, 2032. A representative for FCI Seagoville reportedly did not respond to the outlet’s request for comment regarding Josh’s latest release-date postponement.

As The Ashley told you earlier this month, Josh filed a motion with the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas asking that he be appointed a lawyer to help him fight to challenge his conviction; however, his request was ultimately denied after U.S. Magistrate Judge Christy Comstock claimed that Josh’s motion to appoint counsel both lacked sufficient detail and failed to justify the request under federal law.
In his attempt to persuade the Arkansas federal court to provide him with a new legal team, Josh submitted a letter in May to Judge Timothy L. Brooks– the judge who handled Josh’s first trial– explaining that he was seeking the court’s assistance in appointing counsel to “help evaluate my case and, if appropriate, prepare a motion to vacate, set aside, or correct my conviction and sentence.”
Josh also touted in his letter his alleged behind-bars activities, as well as the “significant issues” relating to his case that he believes “merit a post-conviction review.”

“During my time of incarceration, I have worked diligently to focus on education, personal growth, my faith, and to maintain strong family ties,” he wrote. “However, as I review my case, I believe there are significant issues relating to trial error, evidentiary rulings, and other constitutional violations that merit a thorough post-conviction review.
“I am unable to fully assess these matters on my own, which is why I seek assistance of qualified counsel to help evaluate whether relief is justified,” he continued.

Josh had also stated in his letter that he was no longer able to afford a private attorney due to his “current financial circumstances” and therefore, was in need of a public defender.
As of now, Josh’s release date is set for December 23, 2032.

As far as I know, his eldest kids won’t be underrage by then and I HOPE at least one of them won’t want to talk to him anymore. Despicable human being.
I don’t know much about court appointed attorneys. I know if someone is arrested, they have a right to a public defender during the trial, but I thought that was the only time the court would appoint an attorney for you. Is it a thing for judges to give out free attorney’s for prisoners who want to appeal after they have already been tried and convicted ? I’ve never heard of that.
Keeps losing his good time.
So, I looked into it. Even on The Sun, there’s no reason listed. So why it was pushed back is a mystery to us all.
Also on The Sun was an article about a friend of the Duggars, Carver Bowers, who was charged earlier this month with sexual assault of a minor under age 12. Dirty rumor says he was courting Johanna a few years ago, even though they denied it.
I bring this up because in stories about Josh, people often ask how / why Anna sticks with him. In the article about Carver, they had a quote from his wife, Haley that was posted to her (supposed) instagram. I think this could give some insight into Anna’s way of thinking. Haley wrote:
“The devil couldn’t reach our marriage in other ways so he used the people closest to us to tear us apart. Whatever happened years ago was wrong and a sin, but Jesus doesn’t put boundaries on forgiveness and I am certainly not going to step into his shoes and take that place. I have no idea what will happen next but no matter what I will be standing by his side every step of the way. I know that Jesus has a beautiful purpose and plan for our life and he’s given me the most unwavering trust and peace.”
If Haley thinks this way about her “good, Christian husband”, there’s a pretty solid chance Anna does as well.
I feel awful that Josh’s kids have to grow up without a dad, but I think they’re much safer. Josh is exactly where he should be and I hope he gets more time added over the next few years. The world is better off having him locked up.
Per federal guidelines prisoners may earn up to 54 days per year off their sentence for “good time”. Extension of a release date is due to violations or infractions which result in the loss of a prisoners’ “good time”.
From what I’ve seen, he hasn’t earned any “good time” since he’s been there. I think that says a LOT about who he really is as a person.
I so agree. Incredibly arrogant.
He probably got caught w a cell phone AGAIN! Already added 3 mos for first time he got caught w a phone!
Is Anna still with him? There was a Daily Mail article with pictures of her showing she had gained a lot of weight (prolly from all the stress) and now runs a puppy mill.
I love this for her.
Maybe this will keep on happening and he’ll never get out.
Pedophiles deserve the death penalty, full stop. There is no reason whatsoever to keep them around in prison, much less ever let them out. Death penalty is the only solution for these heinous monsters. There is no way to rehabilitate them. Even if they never act on it (and looking at or even thinking about CSAM is acting on it, btw), they will always be heinous monsters unfit for any society, penal or otherwise.
Due process is owed, guaranteed by our constitution, but it doesn’t need to take the years/decades it currently does, so a convicted pedophile lifer on death row makes no sense. Just give them due process, let them work through their appeals, get it done in a timely manner and then a single bullet to the brain (very cost effective and even painless for the pedophile- it’s a win-win). There is no, literally not one little bit, of doubt, reasonable or otherwise, that he did it. He’s admitted to being a pedophile, even though those instances aren’t why he was arrested. HE CANNOT BE FIXED GET THE FUCK RID OF HIM!
I hate how much my inner child agrees with you.
Good I hope it keeps getting pushed back. He has taken zero accountability and has no desire to change. He certainly won’t want to get caught again so if I were Anna I would be extremely concerned about him abusing his own daughters when he is released.
I would bet that he was already abusing them long before his conviction. I remember when he was still on the show and his little ones, girls AND boys seemed afraid of him. They never smiled when he was around them, and acted very stiff and unnatural when he would be carrying one or the other around. And he would have that creepy smirk of his, exactly like the one in his mug shot.
Sorry Anna, that’s 4 more eggs gone to waste.
So what did he do this time to get that date pushed back?
The POS should never be released. The only thing that fixes a predator is the woodchipper.
“During my time of incarceration, I have worked diligently to focus on education, personal growth, my faith, and to maintain strong family ties,”
Right.
The guy who committed crimes, learned to be sneakier and committed more crimes, who then went and learned to be even sneakier and committed crimes…
Who has never once taken accountability or repented for the “Family” (victims) he has continually victimized… and has few ties with now… (WTF ties are you talking about?)
A man who hid behind “his faith” and abused it as though it was a get out of jail free card for abhorrent behavior…
He’s for sure made such diligent growth! Who among us cannot see this glorious growth what with his inability to obey the rules in PRISON, who keeps getting caught doing sneaky shit he’s not allowed to do, as though the rules don’t apply to him… who STILL cannot take accountability or show actual remorse.
I mean, if that doesn’t scream “CHANGED CHRISTIAN MAN”… what does? I could not roll my eyes harder.
No, I can. Remember when he was bragging that he’d brought so many prisoners to the lord in prison? Basically, he was sent to prison (unjustly) to do such godly work? He got like 3 within the first few days, and all the Pedos look up to him and rely on him for council and advice to change. Yeah. I bout got my eyes stuck backwards at that.
Good, let him rot there. He should be thankful that he didn’t get more time than he did – he should be there for life. Disgusting degenerate.
I love watching people get what they deserve❤️❤️
hopefully it keeps getting pushed back ❤️
Couldn’t happen to a better guy.
Excellent, good news at last
