Two months after saying “I do,” Teen Mom 2 dad Javi Marroquin and wife Lauren Comeau celebrated their marriage with friends and family over the weekend at a reception held in Delaware.
As The Ashley previously told you, Javi and Lauren tied the knot at the end of April in a small beachside ceremony held in Florida. At the time, the couple revealed that they were planning to have a large wedding reception this summer to officially celebrate their union, which ended up being held over the weekend at Paradise Grill, located on the Indian River Bay in Delaware.
After celebrating their reception, both Javi and Lauren took to social media to answer questions about their event, during which they revealed that “immediate and some extended” family members were present for the celebration and that kids– including the couple’s own– were welcome at the reception, too. (Javi shares son Lincoln with ex-wife Kail Lowry and he and Lauren are parents to son Eli and daughter Maizee.)
“[The kids] did [attend],” Javi shared on his Instagram Story. “Minus Maizee, we hired a babysitter for her to head back to our rental across the street around bath/bed time but all the other kiddos stayed and had a blast.
“We set up a kids section with soccer goals & their own cornhole, and our band/DJ was soo awesome and let them keep going up on the stage to dance,” he continued, calling the reception, “the best night.”
Lauren and Javi also revealed on social media why they chose to have their reception on a Thursday instead of during the weekend.
“ … it was the absolute latest day in the summer (other than like a Monday or Tuesday) we could rent out the entire venue,” Javi explained. “It’s a public bar/restaurant so if we wanted to rent out the entire venue vs having just a section that was private then this was the latest date.”
Javi went on to claim that, while he and Lauren had the option to have their reception on a Saturday in mid-May, they were glad they ultimately chose not to, as it ended up raining a lot that month.
“We wanted it to be warm enough since it was outside and 90 percent of people were traveling and staying somewhere for the whole weekend so Thursday just kicked off the festivities,” Javi added.
On her Instagram Story, Lauren told fans that while it was “freezing and raining” for a few days leading up to their reception, the weather ended up clearing up by Thursday– save for a small amount of rain that night– and that it was “beautiful and warm with a breeze” on the day of their event.
Javi and Lauren also revealed in their respective Instagram Q&As that their first dance was to “Thank God” by Kane Brown, which was performed live at their reception by one of their friends. They also shared that they will head to Jamaica to celebrate their honeymoon.
As The Ashley previously told you, Javi revealed in October that he and Lauren had gotten engaged in October 2023, but had kept the news a secret for a year. The proposal took place at the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas and was witnessed by Lincoln and Eli.
Javi and Lauren’s October 2023 engagement was the second for the pair, who have shared a history of break-ups, make-ups, a broken engagement and a public cheating scandal involving Javi’s ex-wife, Kail. Javi and Lauren were also involved in a domestic dispute in July 2021 that ended with Javi calling the cops on Lauren.
Despite their many ups and downs, Javi and Lauren gave their relationship another try a couple years later and in June 2023, Javi sold his home and moved (back) in with Lauren. The two went on to announce in late 2023 that Lauren was pregnant with their second child.
While Lauren and Javi were off celebrating their marriage with friends and family last week, Kail dropped a new episode of her Coffee Convos podcast, in which she finally responded to the Instagram Live tongue-lashing Javi unleashed on her earlier this month.
During the episode, Kail insisted that she really doesn’t care “what Javi says,” before going on to accuse him of “triangulating” her and Lauren “hating each other this whole time.” Towards the end of the podcast, Kail told listeners that she plans to address ALL of Javi’s Instagram Live claims “line-by-line” at some point, but in the meantime, is working with her therapist to process everything in order to be fully transparent about the situation with listeners.

I feel like Javi has really kept a low profile the past few years and tried hard to get his shit together for Lauren. So good luck to them.
When I listened to him on Karl’s podcast he sounded hesitant and disinterested. I think he’s fed up with Karl and her BS at this point.
Hopefully Javi has matured and can keep it in his pants when it comes to other women so the children can have a stable home. If he’s going to (fairly) criticize Kail, he needs to prove for the next few decades that he is dedicated to Lauren. If he can stay committed, then congrats on the growth.
I disagree. He’s allowed to criticize her on her pattern of moving men into her children’s home within weeks of engaging in a relationship whether he cheated on his fiance or not. It’s a matter of safety for his kids. This is wild.
