Jenelle Evans’ teenage son Jace is receiving support from fans on social media, a month after his mom sent him (back) to North Carolina to live with his grandmother Barbara Evans.
As The Ashley previously told you, the former Teen Mom 2 star sent her eldest child to North Carolina in August, immediately after Jace publicly leaked text messages between the two showing her in a very unflattering light. In the texts, Jace alleged that his mom was “unstable,” to which Jenelle fired off a “F**K YOU!” (among other things) at her first born.
It was later confirmed that Jace had been sent to (once again) live with Barb, who raised him for the majority of his life.
Over the weekend, Jace shared a photo and quote to Instagram, which some fans interpreted to be a reference to what the teen is currently going through.
“As the night gets dark, let your worries fade,” Jace wrote. “Sleep peacefully knowing you’ve done all you can do for today.”
Jace’s post garnered quite a few comments from ‘Teen Mom 2’ fans, with many encouraging him to “stay strong.”
“Stay strong Jace!!” one person commented. “We have been on your side since day one!”
“I really hope one day you feel peace,” another wrote. “Just remember this is a blip in your life. Things can always get better.”
Other fans expressed sympathy for what the former ‘Teen Mom 2’ kid has been dealing with, while assuring him that there are a lot of people rooting for him.
“Jace- the world is rooting for you,” a fan commented. “This pain is temporary and will not last forever.”
“You deserve so much better always kiddo, we are here for you,” one person wrote, with another adding, “I think all of the [‘Teen Mom’] watchers pray for you a bunch kid. So sorry!”
“We got your back,” another supporter commented.
As you may remember, though Jace was living in Las Vegas with his mom (and younger half-siblings Kaiser and Ensley) prior to moving back to North Carolina in August, his living situation had been tumultuous for quite some time.
In 2023, Barb signed custody back over to Jenelle due to the fact that she was reportedly unable to handle Jace’s behavior; however, Jace went on to frequently run away and get into trouble while in Jenelle’s care. After Jenelle split with husband David Eason in early 2024, Jace moved with her (and Kaiser and Ensley) to Las Vegas, where the teen continued to clash with his mom.
In October 2024, Jace was temporarily removed from Jenelle’s home after she called the police on him for running away and trashing her house after a fight. In April, Jenelle called the police on Jace again, accusing the teen of “smashing everything” in her home. A month later, Jenelle shipped her son off to Florida, where his father, Andrew Lewis, was living. That arrangement only lasted a few weeks, after which, Jace returned to Las Vegas to live with Jenelle until moving to North Carolina in late August.
Earlier this month, Jenelle gave her followers an update on how Jace’s living situation with Barbara is going. During a Twitch livestream, Jenelle made it clear that she is relishing in the fact that life isn’t exactly easy for Jace right now.
“How’s my mom? My mom’s doing good. She’s in North Carolina, she’s hanging in there with Jace,” Jenelle said, before starting to cackle.
“I laugh because, it’s like y’all don’t even know!” she said gleefully. “People think it’s me and it’s not me! It’s not me!”
During her livestream, Jenelle seemed to be getting some joy out of the fact that her son was being forced to endure Barbara’s yelling.
“I grew up with all that yelling and screaming in my house. So did everyone else that grew up with me,” Jenelle stated.
“…and um, Jace is going through it,” Jenelle said while snickering.

It’s really insane that mtv made a show based on being the worst moms you could possibly be for entertainment and now the kids are grown, we’ve watched this crazy shit happen to them their whole lives and it’s just a really crazy thing to me I guess to see

Hoping he and his whole family get the help they need. This didn’t start with Barbra, it’s generational and the whole family needs individual help to change the pathology.
It’s sad to see this all play out in a public forum, Jase doesn’t have autonomy when it comes to the public spotlight, the public life is all he’s ever known. Unfortunately I’m sure having his whole life played out in a public way where he didn’t have a voice was most likely disempowering.
We can only hope that there will be a softening of hearts and willingness to look inward, so that this family may heal.

Yes, your mom f-ed up when you were kids. But your mom did what mine didn’t, she stepped up for YOUR kid and raised him. My mother would NEVERRRRRR. Your mom fucked I’m with you. We get it. But instead of growing up and being a boss, you’re quite the opposite and you practice exactly what you preach AGAINST. Your mother HAS BECOME a good mother, you however, are nowhere close.
He’s going to have such a hard road to heal and break the cycle.
I hope he does. I hope he doesn’t give up. He’s already fighting uphill so young.
Janelle is right… Barb made mistakes… in letting Jace stay with her, visit her, go in the car with her, all unsupervised.
We’ve literally seen him in the most traumatizing, dysfunctional, and dangerous situations… with his mother.
A mom who then let a teenager self medicate with weed, booze, and parent his siblings. While saying he’s a dangerous liar, and keeping him from treatment and meds.

Resulting in serious mental health issues.
Barb had him in treatment. Barb had him on meds. Barb was trying to give him safety and stability. Even when struggling with a teenager who was going through all that he is/was and it was too much for her.
Far more than his mother or her menagerie of drugged up violent neglectful pos true loves and besties ever did.
Does Barb have problems? Sure. But she’s genuinely doing all she can do for a difficult traumatized kid, working with the proper doctors and treatment plans. He’s fed, housed, safe.
I’d honestly not even encourage him to have communication with his mom at this stage.
This sideshow is endlessly so upsetting.
I hope he is doing ok and holding on. Life will open up for him in a few years and he can look into the trades, community college, or four year. He seems like a smart kid.
I also hope he is able to stay away from partying because with his mother’s genes I would imagine come risk. In a few years he gets to enjoy finding love and heartbreak and resilience, discovering who he is an adult man and what values he will hold to.
Hang in there Jace we are all rooting for you.
No one wants this young man to fail. Barb may not be perfect but she’s always tried to do what was in his best interests. Unlike his mother, who decided partying, drugs and chasing men were more important to her than her son. Barb never got into a road rage incident and whipped out a gun. Barb never let her partner assault him. Barb never withheld his medication. So cackle all you want, he’s got an army of supporters on his side, pulling for him and she’s got her part time, on again off again BFF Tori.

I will never be able to comprehend how a person can put so much blame on their mother for their own issues while simultaneously taking zero responsibility for the damage they have done to their own kids. It’s a deeply disturbing kind of broken. So broken.

Barb was the only one taking him to a psychiatrist and giving him medication. Jenelle and David discontinued his therapy and made him go cold turkey off of his medication because in all of their great wisdom they decided he didn’t need it in the first place. Then in true Jenelle fashion she proceeded to blame Jace for his mental health issues publicly. Never thinking for a second that she was the one who denied him care.
This is Jace’s best shot. I know that Barb loves him and wants what is best for him. She always has. I guarantee she has him getting mental health care. After everything this poor kid has been through he needs it for sure.
I’ve always had a soft spot for him. I truly hope he has a happy life.
It’s so incredibly dangerous to go (or force someone) cold turkey on mental health medication. Not only can it cause heart and blood pressure issues, even in healthy young teens, but if there are inhibitors involved, it can easily make the person going off the meds suicidal. Not many people know that.
Poor Jace. I truly hope Barb can get him back into his old routine and gets him back into therapy. I hope she doesn’t kick him to the curb when the going gets tough.
She won’t. Look at how many chances she gave Jenelle. Even after she abandoned him, took her credit cards and all the other things it would take days to list🙄
