Lala Kent is launching a new podcast next month co-hosted by actress Ambyr Childers, the ex-wife of her baby daddy and former fiancé, Randall Emmett.
Premiering January 8, An Unlikely Affair will release weekly episodes where Lala and Ambyr will “dive into the realities single mothers face, drawing from a past that once made them sworn enemies after sharing the same ex,” according to iHeartPodcasts.
As fans of Vanderpump Rules likely remember, Lala and Randall got engaged in 2018, however, it was later confirmed that their relationship had begun while Randall was still married to Ambyr, who also happens to be the mother of Randall’s two oldest daughters.
Shortly after Lala and Randall welcomed their daughter Ocean in 2021, their relationship also came to an end, allegedly as a result of Randall’s being unfaithful. Following their split, Lala and Randall went on to engage in a lengthy custody battle. (Lala later welcomed her second child, daughter Sosa, in September 2024 via intrauterine insemination.)
Ambyr also dealt with her fair share of headache as a result of Randall’s alleged actions, with the actress even claiming in a 2023 restraining order request that her ex-husband was being investigated by the FBI for “suspected activities with child exploitation and pedophilia.” (Randall went on to deny the allegations.)
While Randall’s famous exes publicly made peace with each other long ago, Lala references her and Ambyr’s prickly past in the official trailer for An Unlikely Affair.
“ … you were the wife, I was the mistress,” Lala says to Ambyr, who assures the Bravo star that all’s forgiven.
“I f**king love you now,” she tells Lala. “ … for a time, I didn’t love you so much, Lala, but now I do.”
According to the podcast publisher, despite Lala and Ambyr’s complicated history– with each other and their controversial ex– the two have managed to build “an expected, deeply honest friendship.” On An Unlikely Affair, fans will get to hear the foes-turned-friends discuss everything from mom guilt and life transitions, to sex, dating and more.
“Two women who never imagined being in the same room come together to co-host a podcast…,” the unlikely duo shared Friday on their podcast’s Instagram page. “Listen to An Unlikely Affair starting January 8th!”
For those wondering, Lala confirmed that she will continue to host her Untraditionally Lala podcast, with An Unlikely Affair being described by iHeart as a “spinoff” of The Valley star’s existing podcast.
