Katie Maloney is calling out her former friend/Vanderpump Rules co-star Lala Kent for recently sharing a kiss with her ex-husband Tom Schwartz on The Valley, despite still claiming publicly that her falling out with Katie was her “hardest friendship breakup.”
On the latest episode of her Disrespectfully podcast, Katie confirmed to her co-host Dayna Kathan that she heard Lala had stated on a recent episode of her podcast that their friendship was her “hardest friendship breakup.” While Katie insisted she doesn’t hate Lala, nor is she harboring a grudge against her, she also explained why she isn’t interested in repairing their once-close bond.
“ … I like to learn from people and take lessons and apply them to my life and do better, and the thing is, Lala and I have been down that road more than once,” Katie said. “And so, it’s kind of like, I’d be a fool to keep coming back for more. Like, this person’s kind of showing me who and what they are, and it just doesn’t work for me anymore.”
Katie then went on to call out Lala’s behavior towards Schwartz, whom Katie split from in 2022. While Katie assured listeners that she has moved on from both her divorce and Schwartz, she revealed that she isn’t a fan of seeing her former friend “moving weird” with her former spouse.
“ … [Lala] joking about being with [Schwartz] and even seeing stuff on ‘The Valley’ of her joking about hooking up with him and they, like, pecked in the pool or something,” Katie said, referring to a recent episode of the Bravo series. “I don’t know, it just seems weird.
“Like, you’re gonna cry about our friendship but then do the very, very thing that you did when you first came onto [‘Vanderpump Rules’] that made me hate you [and made me] me feel insecure– more insecure in my relationship than I already was. And now, you’re just kind of acting it out … .”

As The Ashley previously told you, Lala and Schwartz shut down rumors last summer on Schwartz’s Detox Retox podcast that they were “quietly dating” each other, with Lala telling her co-star that she believed a relationship (for her and someone else, not her and Schwartz) would “come one day, when it’s supposed to,” while insisting that she was also happy being single.
As for her fractured friendship with Katie, Lala confirmed on an episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast in December 2024 that she and Katie remained estranged, months after claiming on her Give Them Lala podcast that she and Katie didn’t “have anything in common anymore,” despite being close friends for years. While she told listeners that Katie “was like [her] everything” at one point, Lala said the two had “very different viewpoints” when it came to the demise of their friendship.

“She sees it one way and I don’t like that I was painted to be someone who pockets information and brings it out at a convenient time, because that’s not what happened,” Lala explained, referring to the disagreement she and Katie had during the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Season 11 Reunion.
Despite still being at odds with one another, Lala wished her former friend the best.
“ … I do want her to be happy in her life,” Lala said. “She deserves that.”

On her podcast this week, Katie also addressed the events of the Season 11 Reunion, which she believes Lala came into with an intention that “felt malicious.”
“ … it was shocking and surprising how she turned on a dime so aggressively and so quickly, so that kind of threw me off,” Katie said. “So, yeah, after that reunion, I was like, I don’t want to talk to her. That sh*t was so weird, she went so hard.”

Katie went on to remind listeners that in the months following the Season 11 Reunion, Lala “doubled down [and] tripled down” on her behavior, while continuing to criticize Katie publicly. She also stated that the way in which Lala has “unpacked” their falling out “hasn’t made a lot of sense” to her, nor has it convinced her to rekindle their friendship.
“ … However it happened was weird as f**k, but it’s like, everything that happened after [the falling out], that just painted the picture of where we stood with things,” Katie said. “I just was like, I just want to remove this from my life … .”

She totally pockets information and pulls it out when it’s convenient.
The way she tries to gaslight us all when all her bs is caught on camera or broadcast on a podcast. She’s so dumb.
Lauren from Utah sucks. I felt bad for her when people weren’t friendly to her when she first went on VPR. Eventually she turned into a shitty person. Flirting with friend’s ex is gross too.
