Kate Gosselin continues to address the abuse accusations made against her by her 21-year-old son Collin, revealing to fans on Monday that she “def would” take legal action against her estranged son if she could.
As The Ashley previously told you, Collin is releasing a tell-all book– In the Shadow of Eight: Surviving the Reality of My Childhood– this October in which he’s set to reveal details about the abuse and neglect he allegedly suffered as a child at his mom’s hand, which included Kate allegedly zip-tying his hands and feet together and locking him in a basement.
Earlier this week, Kate responded to some of her TikTok followers’ comments about Collin’s claims of childhood abuse, calling them “ridiculous” and “made up.” In new comments from the past two days, she revealed why she won’t be taking legal action against her son for his claims.
“If you are 100 [percent] certain that the accusations against you are lies, my suggestion would be to take [Collin] to court and sue him for defamation,” the fan wrote, to which Kate replied, “I can’t bc I’m a public figure. Rules are different unfortunately. Or I def would!”
When other fans in the comment thread asked Kate to clarify what she meant in her response, the mom of eight reiterated that “the rules are different for [people] in the public eye.”
“I consulted a high power LA attorney (you’ve definitely heard of him) years ago when other ppl were putting crazy stuff out there and that’s what he said,” she continued. “The courts don’t honor it if you’re in the public eye 🙁 .”
In another reply to a comment on TikTok, Kate thanked a fan for saying she’s a good mother, while assuring the person that she’s “fine” amidst Collin’s claims.
“Nothing surprises me anymore in that department,” she added.
In another comment made on Tuesday, Kate seemed to be implying that Collin is mentally ill.
Thank you! YOU understand!” she told one follower who commented about her own issues with her adult son. “Sadly, only parents who have a mentally ill child understand! It’s so tough and I’m learning that ppl have NO ability to understand unless they’ve been through it themselves.”
As The Ashley previously reported, Kate told fans via a series of TikTok comments on Sunday and Monday that she doesn’t want her social media followers discussing Collin or his book on her page, while also admitting that she had been deleting comments of that nature from her posts. Among her many replies to fans, Kate called Collin’s accusations against her “ridiculous” and insisted that fans hate her without knowing the whole story.
While Collin has not responded directly to his mom’s recent comments, he took to his Instagram Story on Tuesday to lob another accusation her way.
“Never forget the fact that my mom would write in her diary how she ‘had to pray to God to stop hitting me’ (This was while I was 2 years old by the way),” he wrote. “And this is why using my voice to put these things in the light is so important.”
(Collin is almost certainly referring to journal entries that were allegedly written by Kate when the sextuplets were toddlers. They appeared in the 2014 tell-all book Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World, which was written by Robert Hoffman. Kate blocked the book’s release in 2012, but it eventually came out two years later. Kate claimed that Jon stole her computer’s hard drive and other materials and gave it to the book’s author, while the author claimed he obtained the materials from Kate’s trash.)

I believe Collin 💯 Even if he was mentally ill, which I don’t believe, what mother would put that child on blast for the world? A concerned, loving mother would address those issues privately for the sake of the child. But it’s Kate, the bitch that had the stupid haircut
The reason Kate won’t sue Collin is because she knows that everything Collin is saying is true, and she knows that her abuse of Collin will become public record and she doesn’t want anything to tarnish her image. Go back and rewatch Jon and Kate Plus 8, she verbally abused Jon and she verbally abused the kids. Everyone thought Jon was the dirty one, and he definitely wasn’t an angel, but he didn’t abuse Kate and he didn’t abuse his kids. I remember when they were going through their divorce, people were coming out of the woodwork who had known Kate for years and they said what a horrible and abusive and bossy woman she was, but people were so hyper focused on Jon and his girlfriends that Kate’s behavior was overlooked. I’m so proud of Collin for speaking his truth and I pray for only good things for him!!!
Ah yes, what you’re witnessing is a narcissist unraveling when they’re beginning to lose control of a situation. She has been able to control almost everything in life but that book’s release. People who are not guilty have nothing to hide.
People who are not guilty would take the lie detector test in order to clear their name. In fact, they would be jumping at the chance. This abuser masquerading as a “mother” should have been locked up long ago, but was bankrolled both by society and TLC. Ratings will always take precedence over morality, especially when children are involved. Look at the Duggars
Does she think the rest of the world is dumber than her? Celebrities sue for defamation all the time. Someone else already mentioned Johnny Depp and Cardi B. What she’s scared of is the actual evidence going in front of the judge and the world. It’s just like when these accusations first came out, her lawyer gave a statement basically saying she remembered it differently but never outright denied any of it. In fact, she’s NEVER said the words, “I didn’t do it.” Isn’t that interesting?
I noticed that, too. “Kate never intentionally hurt…”. That doesn’t mean she didn’t accidentally hurt him, repeatedly.
If Collin is claiming she did these things, it’s up to her to prove she didn’t and she can’t.
She could sue him if what he’s stating is a lie. Collin most likely has evidence proving she’s a piece of shit. My DNA strand 2 tried it with me, but I have loads of evidence probing what Ive stated is factually correct.
She is such a piece of shit. She doesn’t feel bad for abusing him at all. She still thinks she is in the right.

If your comment to an accusation is “you need context” or “that’s not the whole story”, that’s as good as admitting you did it, but you have an excuse.

Kate is lying. She can 100 percent sue.him for defamation there have been plenty of celebrities who have done so and one Johnny Depo and Cardi B are 2 that come to mind. She 100 percent did these disgusting things and she is doing the classic, ifnI ignore it, it just might go away. But it isn’t anf the truth always comes out in the end.
