Tyler Baltierra called out social media content creators this week who continue to discuss his biological daughter Carly, claiming that, at this point, certain online creators have talked about the teen publicly more than he has.
As fans of ‘Teen Mom’ know, Tyler and his wife Catelynn Lowell placed Carly for adoption in 2009, but in 2024, the couple was cut off from contacting the teen after her parents, Brandon and Teresa Davis, closed their adoption. Since then, Tyler and Cate have crusaded against the adoption industry, and called out Carly’s parents online for keeping Carly from them without providing a real explanation as to why.
Earlier this week, Tyler commented on a video posted by @rei_clarke, which addressed the public’s running commentary on Carly and her adoption. In his comment, Tyler acknowledged the boundaries some content creators have crossed when it comes to Carly, noting that he and Catelynn “never blasted her photos online [but] creators did.”

(Over the past few years, current photos of Carly have circulated on ‘Teen Mom’ fan pages. Brandon and Teresa have always tried to keep Carly’s current appearance private, even barring MTV from showing her face once Carly got to a certain age.)
“I’ve never posted a photo without consent since the first & only time it ever happened, over a decade ago,” Tyler wrote, adding that he “never wished to coparent [with Brandon and Teresa], only to maintain the agreement we all made for Carly.”
In another comment on the post, Tyler seemingly criticized those who make assumptions about Carly’s feelings and Brandon and Teresa’s actions regarding Carly, insisting that if “creators” and people in general really cared about Carly, they would stop bringing her up and “perpetuating” conversations about her on social media.

Tyler also defended the fact that he has publicly spoken about Carly and her parents, claiming that he only does so when “misinformation is brought to [his] attention.”
He then called out online video creators for criticizing him and Catelynn for not giving Carly her privacy, but then going on to make videos about Carly, her parents and her adoption.
“At this rate, content creators have said her name, talked about her, her adoption & her parents far more than I ever did in the past 16 yrs on TV lol,” Tyler wrote.

Tyler went on to say that ‘Teen Mom’ fans often act like they know a lot about Carly’s adoption just from watching ‘Teen Mom.’
“I know everyone believes they know more about my adoption dynamic than I do, but I don’t take it personal,” Tyler wrote. “Since I know they’re only basing it on a very limited perspective of a complex situation designed for TV entertainment. Their perspective of my reality is valid…but only in their world, not mine.”
Tyler wrote that he and Catelynn simply want to know if it was Carly who wanted her adoption closed, or if it was Brandon and Teresa. This comment was met with some criticism from fans.
“He is not a co-parent!” the person wrote of Tyler. “No answer is a sufficient answer. [Carly’s parents] are protecting their peace. This peace has been disturbed by ‘Teen Mom’ for almost 14 years post when they asked to no longer be featured on or discussed on the show. Yet it continued. Tyler’s insistence that he needs to know that it was a minor child’s decision to close the adoption is unhealthy for him to hyper-fixate on, and also something he isn’t entitled to know.”

Tyler replied to that comment, writing that he doesn’t agree that silence from Carly’s side is sufficient.
“Again, it’s about maintaining transparency with one another for the sake of the child,” he wrote. “If [both sets of parents] are aware and communicative about what she needs, then there’s no room for confusion, pain or assumptions for all involved.
“I don’t believe I am owed anything. Carly is,” Tyler continued, adding that Carly’s parents have chosen to appear on MTV numerous times after they said they were done with the show.
“…it’s pretty difficult to identify/respect someone else’s boundaries when they keep changing them, but not communicating them,” Tyler wrote of Carly’s parents. “My insistence is not about hearing it from [Carly] directly; it’s simply about wanting her parents to maintain their end of the agreement and participate in effective and open communication.”
On Wednesday, Tyler posted a quote to Instagram Stories about keeping biological families together.
“Biological families belong together whenever that is safe and possible and the child is loved and wanted by their parent(s).”

Tyler’s criticism towards content creators who continue to discuss Carly in their videos comes just a month after Cate slammed fan pages on social media for allegedly “stealing Carly’s pictures from her prom,” sharing them online and, in some cases, even making inappropriate comments about the 16-year-old’s appearance, calling the actions “ridiculous” and “disgusting.”

Boundaries have been the same for the past 16 years. And creators talk about Carly because you won’t shut up about her. I hope she sends them a restraining order the minute she turns 18
The delulu is strong with this one.
Ummm……. 🤨🥸
I cannot even bring myself to read the full article when the headline is enough to say STFU Tyler. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. The only reason any other creators talk about her or know so much about her is because him and Cate run their mouths nonstop.
