New alleged details about what led to the arrest of ‘Unexpected’ grandpa Casey Johnson have been released.

Casey— who is the father of Season 7 star Hunter Johnson— was arrested last week for domestic battery and endangering the welfare of a minor. As fans know, Casey was recently given full custody of 14-year-old Hunter after a nasty custody battle with Hunter’s mom. However, earlier this week it was revealed that Hunter was not the minor who Casey is accused of endangering. Instead, the alleged victims are Hunter’s stepmom Brettney (who is in the process of divorcing Casey), and Hunter’s half-sister.

In a new Facebook post, Brettney (and her mother) spilled the details on what allegedly happened the night of Casey’s arrest, claiming that Casey allegedly attacked her while she was in the car with their daughter, trying to leave his home.

Despite her accusations against Casey, Hunter’s stepmom Brettney did defend Casey for his parenting of Hunter, shutting down the rumor that Casey had abused the teen years ago. (Hunter had claimed this in a TikTok video he posted in April, stating that he didn’t like being at his dad’s house and that Casey “pinned me up the wall by my throat when I was little.” That video has since been deleted.)

However, Brettney stated that Hunter and Casey share qualities, and both have attacked her in recent months.

“Casey has never laid hands on Hunter and was always a good father,” Brettney wrote on Facebook. “Hunter loves being with him now. But I’m sorry I have been attacked by both of them with in the past few months. I needed peace. Like father like son.”

(Brettney is likely referring to an incident that occurred in April at her and Casey’s home. On that night, Brettney told cops that, during an argument she was having with Hunter, she grabbed his phone. This made Hunter angry and she claimed the teen “shoved me and pinned me down on the bed.”)

Anyway, Brettney posted her very long explanation of what happened on the night Casey was arrested last week. However, her mother, Shelli‘s post about the alleged incident is easier to understand. 

In her post, Shelli claimed that Brettney and Casey got into an argument while Brettney was picking up the daughter she and Casey share. Shelli stated that Casey didn’t want the daughter to leave with Brettney so when the daughter and Brettney got into Brettney’s car, Casey allegedly “jerked the handle off her car and managed to get into the backseat of Brettney’s car.

“He then put Brettney is a chokehold, while trying to grab her keys from the ignition. [Their daughter] was sitting beside her in the front seat screaming for him to stop, and get off her mom,” Shelli wrote. “Police were called and Casey was arrested.”

Shelli claims that the cops told Brettney to grab her belongings from their home before Casey was released from jail. However— according to Shelli— a neighbor called Brettney before she arrived at the home to inform her that two males had just crawled through a window at the home, wearing latex gloves. 

“They were waiting on her to get home,” Shelli claimed. “This amazing neighbor called the police. Brettney met the cops there and [the males] were found inside the residence with their latex gloves on. They said Casey said they could go in….they were gonna hurt Brettney.

“…My daughter is not safe,” Shelli continued, adding that the restraining order Brettney and her daughter have against Casey currently won’t stop him if he wants to hurt her. 

Brettney’s post basically tells the same tale (but with a lot more words.)

“You know everyone thinks somebody isn’t capable of doing something until they have done it,” Brettney began her post. “I know what happened to me that day.”

Brettney went on to claim that Casey begged her to come back to him, and she refused, she stated that Casey allegedly starting “bullying” her.

“He took my money, locked me out of the house that he wouldn’t let me get my stuff from and moved another woman in,” she claimed. “Told me to sign papers; I wasn’t getting anything. Showed up to my house and smashed my phone and some other stuff. There is a police report for that too.”

Brettney went on to detail more harassment she allegedly received from Casey. 

“I couldn’t have peace in my new home,” she wrote. “I never expected that from him and it was very much an isolated incident. I’m not trying to ruin him. He did that to himself because he can’t control his temper. I begged him for weeks to quit with the harassment, or I was gunna press charges.”

Brettney stated that she was reluctant to do so because she knew “it would be hell for the case I just stood by his side and helped him fight.” (We can assume she is referring to the custody battle for Hunter.)

“I wanted us to make it work as friends for the kids and he made it clear if he couldn’t have me no one would,” Brettney stated, adding that Casey allegedly told her that his new girlfriend will “be enjoying” all of her belongings that have been left at the house.

She went on to discuss some of the alleged injuries she received on the night of Casey’s arrest. 

“My marks that were on me were scrapes and cuts from me kicking my legs under my dash as he had me pinned to my seat,” she wrote. “The cuts on my arm was from the keychain I was fighting to keep so I could leave. He ripped my door handle off to my driver seat [and] couldn’t get in that way so he climbed in the backseat.

“I’ve never seen him like that. For the first time I was terrified of that man. Then after the cops left with him his ‘eyewitnesses’ were caught sneaking into my house with latex gloves on. I’ve been sleeping with my gun. I can’t sleep and every time I’m alone I can’t stop crying,” she wrote.

Brettney stated that it was the eyewitness account given by their young daughter that ended up getting Casey arrested.

“What got him arrested came from his own daughter’s mouth,” she wrote. “As much as I hate she was there I’m glad she was. Because what happened in that car was a nightmare and I will be damned if y’all are out there saying I made it up. The last thing I ever wanted was our child see her father be put in a cop car.”

Brettney went on to say that she and her kids do not have their belongings, as they are still inside Casey’s house. (Hunter still lives with Casey.)

“While we’re trying to rebuild our lives from nothing, he has another woman and child in our home,” Brettney alleged. “I wasn’t going to make a statement but I’m tired of being drug through the dirt by people who think they know a man and all his secrets. I stood by him for 10 years… Everything we have we built together. I don’t deserve to have everything I have worked for handed to some woman he hasn’t even known for a month.”

As The Ashley previously reported, a no contact order currently prohibits Casey from having any contact with Brettney or their daughter, and he must stay at least 1500 feet away from them. The no-contact order will remain in place for up to a year from the date it was issued, which is July 23, 2026. Should Casey be found guilty of the charges, the no-contact order will then remain in effect for a year, beginning on the date of his sentencing. 

Casey has not yet entered a plea for his charges from the July 24 incident. A court date has been scheduled for August 10.

Interesting, Hunter’s baby mama Bella Vaughn (and Bella’s mom Falen) have not yet commented on Casey’s arrest or Brettney’s claims.
