Wedding bells will soon be ringing (again) through the Duggar Compound!
Twenty-year-old Johannah Duggar has filed for a marriage license in Arkansas. (The Facebook page Duggar Family News: Life Is Not All Pickles & Hairspray was the first to report the news.) Johannah— who is the sixteenth child of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar— is planning to marry 23-year-old David Swanson within the next 60 days.
If the groom’s last name sound familiar to ‘Counting On’ fans, it’s because another Duggar spawn is already married to a Swanson. (Back in 2018, Josiah Duggar got hitched to Lauren Swanson, David’s older sister. Johannah’s brother James was also linked to the Swanson family via his alleged failed engagement to Lydia Swanson.)
Anyway, longtime Duggar watchers will recall that Johannah was the second of the Duggar kids to be born on TV. Michelle gave birth to her during the family’s 2006 Discovery special “Raising 16 Children.”
According to the Pickles & Hairspray Facebook group, Michelle— along with a collection of her daughters and grandkids— took Johannah for a “bachelorette” trip to Charleston, South Carolina, last month.

In attendance were Jessa and Jana (along with their babies), as well as the youngest Duggar girls, Josie, Jenni and Jordyn. The page reported that Johannah “was seen wearing an engagement ring and telling people she was getting married in a couple of weeks.”
Johannah is not the first of the Duggar offspring to get hitched before their 21st birthday. Her sister, Joy, was married at 19, while her brothers Josh, Joseph got hitched at age 20. However, Justin holds the record for the youngest Duggar to marry, as he said “I do” when he was only 18. After marrying Claire Spivey, Justin high-tailed it to Texas, where he resides today.

Though Johannah’s groom-to-be David has maintained a semi-private life, he did appear on the Duggars’ reality shows several times over the years. In 2010, he was featured on an episode of “19 Kids & Counting” when he was about seven years old. Later, he appeared on ‘Counting On’ during the episodes about Josiah and Lauren’s wedding. (He was one of Josiah’s groomsmen.)

A wedding website set up for the couple gives their wedding date as October 10, but that date has not been confirmed.
