Following a rollercoaster of a season (and plenty of squabbles on social media), Shekinah Garner and Sarper Guven have officially confirmed their breakup.

After Monday night’s installment of the “90 Day: The Last Resort” Tell-All, the trainwrecky twosome took to Instagram to make statements regarding their explosive breakup. Shekinah– who did not return for the Tell-All– made two posts: one last week after she and Sarper recommitted to each other on the show and one on Tuesday morning. Sarper only made one post on Tuesday morning to discuss the breakup. “When the ego fades I hope you realize how you handled this,” Shekinah captioned a video of the recommitment ceremony. “It wasn’t strength, it was cowardly, destructive, humiliating, deceptive, and above all a deep betrayal.

“I learned last night that you only recommitted that day because you felt pity for me, and you did this speech while simultaneously planning to leave me later. The ‘Last Resort’ was a promo for your comedy career, not an attempt to save our marriage. The deepest wounds don’t come from enemies. They come from the ones who promised to protect your heart,” she concluded the post.
Sarper’s post was not addressed directly to his estranged wife, but rather to fans who (somehow) were surprised that the marriage came to an end.
“Yes guys, as many of you can probably imagine, our fairytale love story has come to an end,” Sarper captioned an AI-altered photo of their wedding bedding photo with a rip down the center. “It started four years ago in Turkey, and unfortunately, this chapter of our lives has now ended.”

“I’m really upset even writing this because I still love the SHEKINAH I met in Turkey. She was the first real love I’ve ever had in my life, and that’s exactly why this still hurts. But there is one thing I’m sure about: we simply couldn’t make it work anymore.”
Sarper claims that he “did [his] best” to maintain the relationship and said he believed Shekinah also tried her best, but “sometimes, even [if] you do your best, [it’s] simply not enough!”
Sarper said he didn’t want to “attack her or speak badly about her online” and didn’t want to “turn four years of memories into an online war.”
“But I do want to make one thing clear,” he continued. “Despite what she has claimed, I never chose fame or money over her. I wish we could have found peace together. I wish I could have shared everything I have with her and built the simple life we once imagined.”
He clarified that he and Shekinah have been separated for over eight months now and he considers himself to be single, despite still being legally married to Shekinah. He claimed that he had been “100% loyal to her” up until he took his wedding ring off, at which point he “started living his life as a SINGLE person.”
(The Ashley reported back in November that the couple appeared to be heading for divorce after a heated Instagram feud, but Sarper’s statement claims they’ve been officially separated “since the beginning of 2026.”)
Sarper stated that, “the SHEKINAH [he] knew during those first two years” of their long-distance relationship will “always have an irreplaceable place in [his] memories.”
“There was real love there. There were real memories,” he concluded. “And despite how it ended, I will never pretend those years meant nothing to me. I truly wish her the best in her life. Sometimes a fairytale doesn’t have the ending you expected.”
Shekinah responded to Sarper’s post with a statement, that spanned 11 full Instagram slides. She first explained why she was absent from the ‘Tell-All.’

“I’m writing this because I feel like I need to tell my side of the story, and I chose not to do that at the Tell-All because my mental health is more valuable than the opinions of the other cast,” she wrote.
She went on to refute Sarper’s claim that they don’t see themselves as married anymore. Shekinah insisted that she still views herself as Sarper’s wife because she legally is.
“I never really got the chance to be the soft, nurturing wife who felt protected and treasured by her husband… but I still took being his wife seriously,” she wrote.
Shekinah went on to claim that she and Sarper promised each other that, no matter what happened in their relationship, they would never appear on “90 Day: The Single Life.” She stated that she intends to keep that promise— and to stay away from all TLC shows from now on. However, fans are speculating that Sarper has already been cast for the next season of “The Single Life.”
Shekinah went on to insist that she never cheated on Sarper because she took her wedding vows seriously.
“…even when I was hurt, angry, humiliated and heartbroken, I didn’t abandon my own integrity because someone else abandoned theirs,” she wrote.
Shekinah also addressed Sarper’s statement about liking the person she was while they were in Turkey. She admitted that she also loved the person she got to be in Turkey, but claims it was only possible because Sarper liked being “in complete control of [their] world.” She said that she “had almost no autonomy” in Turkey and “his power was big,” so that made him treat her better.
According to Shekinah, things changed when they got to America and she became the breadwinner.
Later in her post, Shekinah took aim at Sarper’s comedy shows, claiming she used to watch his shows and laugh at his jokes about their marriage because he wanted her to.
“I didn’t do those things begrudgingly,” she insisted. “That’s what makes this hurt so much. I did them because I loved him and I believed in him. I was genuinely so proud of him. Watching him find something he loved and watching people respond to him was amazing. I felt lucky to be such a big part of helping him build it.”
Shekinah claimed that things quickly soured between them, with Sarper allegedly staying in dark hotel rooms all day and acting “easily irritated with me, impatient, cold and uninterested in talking or spending any time together outside of having sex.”
She wrote that things eventually got so bad between her and Sarper that she began staying in his booking agent’s hotel room because “being alone with my own husband had become so unbearable.”
According to her, the most devastating part of supporting his career was when he would make their marriage the butt of the joke.
“The laughs of strangers would never be more important to me than protecting the dignity of the person I married,” she wrote, adding that she often felt like an “object” to Sarper rather than a person.
Finally, Shekinah addressed the incident last November that prompted fans to think the couple split. She claimed that was the point that Sarper kicked her and his booking agent off his tour. After that, Shekinah said she moved to Miami to be with her 18-year-old daughter. She accused Sarper of being on dating apps and cheating on her while she was in Miami and said that during this time, even though she stayed with him, she “felt increasingly like [her] marriage had become more like a situationship than anything else.”
(Sarper admitted in June that he was on dating apps, but only to retaliate against Shekinah.)
Shekinah ended her statement by apologizing to her daughter for how her volatile relationship has taken a toll on her. She also stated that she hopes that when her daughter is finding love, she will “choose the exact opposite” of what she saw Shekinah accept.
Finally, Shekinah posted a video on her story dated back to December 31, 2025. The camera is covered in the video, but Sarper can be heard saying, “You don’t understand one thing, Shekinah. I don’t have any patience [with] you, I have zero patience [with] you, so you have to be f***ing flawless.” Shekinah can be heard crying in the background.
As fans of ’90 Day Fiance’ know, Shekinah and Sarper met on Season 6 of ’90 Day Fiance: The Other Way’ and went on to tie the knot during Season 11 of ’90 Day Fiance.’ The pair have had many ups and downs throughout their relationship– largely due to Sarper’s former womanizer lifestyle– and have battled communication and trust issues, with some of their fights even getting physical on-camera.
On Season 3 of ‘The Last Resort,’ the couple struggled to work through their issues as Shekinah’s focus turned to feuding with her fellow castmates– which The Ashley has reported on extensively– and Sarper’s focus turned to his comedy.
