“90 Day Fiance” Star Deavan Clegg Suffers Botched Cosmetic Procedure: “I Had Damage So Severe That My Lip Was Dying”

When dying lips aren’t even the biggest problem in your life…

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star Deavan Clegg had to learn the hard way that if you’re going to let someone inject something into your body, you better do a background check on them. (This advice could also have been useful to the TLC star before she got knocked up by her now-husband Jihoon Lee after just meeting him…)

Deavan revealed on Instagram this week that after having her lips injected by a professional, she suffered damage so severe that it left her lip swollen, bruised and “dying.”

Deavan reportedly underwent the cosmetic procedure in South Korea where she and Jihoon currently live.

“In Korea, I decided to get lip fillers before doing research,” Deavan explained on social media. “The procedure they injected had not been tested. I went to a professional. My lip was so swollen and injected incorrectly. I had damage so severe that my lip was dying.”

Deavan went on to encourage any of her followers that may be considering having similar procedures performed to “do research and find a doctor who specializes in it.” She also thanked 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Larissa Dos Santos Lima for helping her find a doctor that was able to save her “lip from dying” during a recent trip to Las Vegas.

As fans of “90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?” may recall, Larissa underwent some lip injections of her own on the show, courtesy of her ex-husband Colt Johnson.

Who could forget this romantic outing?

Based on Deavan’s other post from her Las Vegas trip, it appears that her lip is on the mend and that the botched procedure hasn’t caused any permanent damage.

Of course, Deavan isn’t the first reality TV star to be dealt a botched mouth…

Back in 2015, Teen Mom OG star Farrah Abraham found herself in the emergency room after a PermaLip silicone implant procedure gone-wrong, resulting in a frightening image that we’re still recovering from nearly five years later.

#NeverForget

Anyway, in the comment section of Deavan’s post, “90 Day Fiance” fans encouraged Deavan to stop the cosmetic procedures and cautioned her that if she keeps going, she’ll end up looking like some of the franchise’s most nipped-and-tucked stars.

“Oh honey you had beautiful lips to start with,” one fan wrote. “Don’t pull a Darcey [Silva]. You have a natural beauty. Don’t ruin it.”

“You are beautiful without all the artificial stuff,” another wrote. “Please don’t let [Larissa] talk you into anything else. She has already ruined 1 cast member’s face.”

  1. As a mother one of the scariest things about their situation is the insurance aspect. God forbid one of her kids got sick or needed the hospital. What would she do? She’s openly said she has no insurance. I don’t understand how a mother feels comfortable taking two young babies to a foreign country where she is pretty much stuck at the mercy of her unemployed husband. I would do what is best for my children and stay where I know health insurance is available to them, as well as doctors and medical options I’m farmilliar with.

  2. It’s creepy to see her changing herself to look more typically Korean/Asian (referring to the pic of her in Vegas as well as other pics on her Instagram)…

  3. Are they not broke? Maybe focus on the children’s needs first? Some money to pay the bills once TLC is gone perhaps?

  4. While getting a cosmetic procedure without doing research is definitely not the brightest decision, I give her kudos for coming right out and admitting her mistake. I’m sure at least 90% of the celebrities and reality TV stars out there would to try to save face (ba dum tss) by lying and saying, “I did weeks of research and fact-checking on this cosmetic professional and their product and was and this is what happened, woe is me”, just to avoid the harsh criticism they know they’d have to endure. At least she’s smart enough to know that lying about it would have only been a band-aid and the truth would’ve come out eventually, then she’d be dubbed a liar.

  5. “In Korea, I decided to get lip fillers before doing research,” Deavan explained. Gee, what could go wrong?😉😂

  6. “Do research and find a doctor who specializes in it.” Ummmmmm, ya think! I’m starting to believe they give the participants in these reality shows an IQ test before they are cast and if they have a score that is average or above, they don’t cast them. Some of these people are so f-ing stupid it’s unbelievable. And, she and Jihoon live in a room the size of a closet with his parents, he’s got a bunch of debt and a criminal record, they have a very young baby, she’s got an out-of-control three year old and she just had a miscarriage, and this is what she’s spending time and money on (and risking her health as well). 90 Day is becoming more and more unwatchable each season because of antics like hers, folks begging for nonsense with GoFundMe pages and the desire of 85% of them to be reality stars (rather than people with genuine storylines).

    1. Did Deacon get a nose job too? Or it that severe photoshop? I’m glad her lips are going to be ok, that could’ve been devastating.

      1. LEXII: She didn’t get a nose job, it’s just that that particular photo is filtered times 1,000.

GEMMA: Right, he owes a bunch of money and really seems to lack ambition to do much other than make babies. Even his mother commented on how he acts like a little boy. Also, she has two small children and doesn’t speak the language, so even if she was cleared to work in S. Korea, it probably would be quite difficult for her to find a job. It seems that if they didn’t have income from the show, they’d have little to no income at all. I predict this being another storyline that’s dragged out way past it’s expiration date like Darcey, Paul and Karine with lots of clickbait and bootleg product promotions.
