Micah & Moriah Plath Talk About the Ongoing Plath Family Feud & Reveal Why Older Sister Hosanna Isn’t on ‘Welcome to Plathville’

“Wait, which one is Hosanna?”
“I don’t know… I think she’s blond?”

Welcome to Plathville returns later this month for another season of fair-haired Fundie family feuding…and plenty of moments sure to make viewers cringe like only the Plath Family can!

While the series certainly isn’t lacking cast members, the new season will once again not include one of Kim and Barry Plath’s nine children: 21-year-old Hosanna Plath.

This week, Moriah and Micah Plath discussed their sister’s decision to not appear on ‘Welcome to Plathville,’ explaining that Hosanna simply wasn’t interested in being a part of the TLC series.

“If TLC ever gets desperate enough to include me in the series, they could always just throw a wig on Ethan.”

“She got married at a young age and moved off with her husband and started her life somewhere else,” Moriah explained. “And she didn’t want to be on the show and we were kind of all just, like, yeah, I mean, it’s her life … Sometimes we keep in touch to some extent, but it’s also, like, she’s across the country, and, you know, it would just be a hassle and she doesn’t want to be on the show.”

For Micah, a “certain extent” means he’s only seen his sister, who lives in Ohio, a “couple of times” since she married husband Timothy Noble in 2019. However, Micah said he plans to change that soon.

“I’m planning on making a road trip [soon] to go and see them,” he said.

Although Micah and Moriah don’t see Hosanna often, they do get to see their older brother Ethan and Ethan’s wife Olivia regularly, as the couple lives close by.

“I see [them] three or four times a week normally,” Micah said. “They still live right down the road from me, so we hang out every now and then.”

“I literally can’t escape these people.”

Moriah said she sees her older brother “all the time.”

While Micah and Moriah continue to “hang out” with Ethan and Olivia, Plath parents Kim and Barry remain estranged from their son and daughter-in-law after years of feuding. Just this week, Olivia revealed she and Ethan no longer associate with Ma and Pa Plath, even for the TLC series.

“Now we are so much happier and continue to make choices that reflect cutting out drama and choosing peace,” Olivia said of the couple’s decision.

Despite the ongoing feud, Moriah and Micah hope to see the family reconcile eventually.

“I’m gonna need at least five buttery nipples to even begin considering that idea.”

“I mean, ultimately that would be the ideal situation [to have our parents forgive them],” Micah said. “I don’t see that happening anytime soon. And part of me is also like, if it happens, that’s going to look weird, too. Like, how is that gonna happen? … after, like, roughly three years of not talking? How? We can’t just bury it all at once. It’s going to take a long time.

“I feel like time is going to be the biggest thing,” he continued. “Um, maybe a little bit of growing … and just realizing that grudges aren’t the best. But I mean, I don’t really know, it’s been like this for so long that it’s like, what would a different life look like? What would a perfect family look like?”

Well, certainly not this.

Though the Plath family feud remains in place, 17-year-old Lydia seems to be moving forward and growing up.

When asked about her younger sister’s “glow-up,” Moriah admitted she may have influenced the mini-makeover “a tiny bit.”

Lydia’s take on Moriah’s collection ‘o’ crop tops.

“Lydia and I have had a couple of sleepovers and every sleepover I’m like, ‘All right, let’s do face masks, let’s do lotion,’” she said. “Like, everything we can possibly think of for ourselves … put some makeup on, whatever we want to do. I may have influenced her a tiny bit in that area, but I also think she’s just kind of growing up on her own.”

“Masks, lotion AND makeup?! This sounds exhausting.”

Even though Lydia is “growing up,” Moriah doesn’t see her sister “branching out” and entering the dating scene anytime soon.

“Lydia is very accepting of my way of living and she’s … more openminded than the rest of my family used to be, at least, but I still think that she’s very just, like, sticking to her own what she believes is right and I don’t really see her stepping outside of that, but you never know. We’ll see.”

Moriah did admit that she’s seen “some hints” of her sister stepping out of her comfort zone, to which Micah agreed.

I think we all remember when Micah first began to step out of his own comfort zone.

“I really feel like she’s become more accepting and a little more openminded and…I would be surprised, but not too surprised– if she did branch out and start, ya know, dating a little bit, figuring things out on her own,” he said. “Just being more independent.”

Micah called Lydia “one of the most hardworking and kind” of all the Plath children.

“It’s crazy,” he said. “Like, whoever she ends up with is going to be a lucky guy, I’ll say that.”

Season 3 of ‘Welcome to Plathville’ premieres August 24 on TLC.

    1. I applaud Ethan’s ability to stand up to them and defend his wife.

My heart breaks for him too, he loves his siblings, you can see it. It’s sad they have to be mixed up in this but unfortunately until they turn 18 I guess they have to be.
