‘Sister Wives’ Star Meri Brown Says She’s “At Peace” Despite Knowing Her Husband Kody Never Wants to Have Sex with Her Again; Has “Hope” He’ll Change His Mind

“Meri, kindly remove your hand from my buttocks…”

Meri Brown not getting any loving…and she says she’s OK with that!

The Sister Wives star— who, along with her husband Kody and three sister wives, sat down for one-on-one interviews that started airing last Sunday—  got real about her and Kody’s sex life…or, rather, the lack thereof.

Meri confirmed that she and Kody haven’t been “intimate” in more than a decade. Meri also stated that, despite Kody telling her repeatedly that he has no interest in ever being intimate with her again and only wants to be friends, she is hopeful that he will one day want to get it on with her again…or at least hold her hand!

(Kody and Meri do not have any sort of physical or romantic relationship, so they do not hold hands, kiss or have sex.)

“Sometimes I go out to Coyote Pass and hug trees, just to remember what hugging felt like!”

“That’s definitely something that I miss. I miss emotional intimacy with him. I miss conversations with him. I miss physical intimacy with him,” Meri said. “I would love it if he would hold my hand.

“I have hope that he will [want to be intimate with me again] and also if he never does then I’m going to create my own peace and happiness within the family relationships that I do have. This is my family,” Meri added.

Meri has refused to leave Kody, as her sister wife Christine recently did, due to him not wanting a romantic or intimate relationship with her any longer. Despite the fact that Kody has stated that Meri betrayed him and that he will never be romantic with her again, Meri has vowed to remain in the loveless and sexless marriage with Kody.

“It’s been 31 years now that we’ve been married [and] I’m still committed,” Meri said. “I’ve made my choice. I’m still here. I do still have hope…I want there to be [intimacy in the future].”

The cringe face all of us are making right now as we read that…

Meri– who says she still loves Kody— stated that remaining in the Brown family is the most-important thing to her.

“I just feel peace when I think about staying in the family because it’s what I want. It’s what I know is right for me,” Meri said.

During his one-on-one interview on Sunday’s episode, Kody stated that, although he still considers Meri “part of the family,” he has absolutely no interest in going back to having a romantic (and/or physical) relationship with her. Kody was clear that he would never change his mind.

“What if I took breakdancing lessons? Would that help?”

“I’m not ever going to be in a conjugal relationship with her because I’m not going to go through that emotional torture ever again,” he said.

Ouch.

“I’m not trying to make Meri sound bad, it’s just a bad match.”

Meri, on her marriage…

Kody and Meri have been open about the fact that their marriage has not been in a good place for more than 10 years.

During the first season of ‘Sister Wives,’ (which was filmed in 2010), Meri and Kody were celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary. They discussed how they had begun to struggle in their marriage a bit, but they still seemed to have a romantic, functioning relationship. (It appears that Kody and Meri stopped being intimate/romantic somewhere around the time they were filming the second season of the show, based on their own time estimates.)

Kody claimed Meri’s 2015 catfishing incident was not what caused their issues, though he said it “woke me up out of the daze, I guess” and made him realize he didn’t want a relationship with Meri anymore– and that he certainly didn’t want to have sex with her.

“There’s a point where intimacy is just damage,” Kody said. “It’s misleading to have intimacy in a relationship where there’s no real safety. I’m not going there. No, and I never will again. I will be her friend. I will do what I can to protect her. I’m never going to feel safe in an intimate place.”

“This is the ‘discarded wife’ section of Coyote Pass, Mer! Isn’t it lovely?”

The second part of the ‘Sister Wives’ Season 16 finale airs Sunday on TLC.

  1. So she’s choosing to stay celibate until she dies? But has hopes that Kody will just one day change his mind?? He has no motivation to go back to her if his needs and wants are already being met. It’s just a sad, lonely and miserable existence. She claims she does it because she wants to stay with the family. Well, regardless of whether her and Kody are together, they’re still her family. But it’s not like their daughter Mariah is still very young and needs to be with her siblings and father. She’s an adult for Christ’s sake!! Meri just uses the family excuse because she hopes she still had a chance with Kody. So sad.

  2. “What if I took breakdancing classes, would that help?” LMMFAO I literally almost spit out the bagel I was eating cuz I laughed so hard. I love you, the Ashley!

  3. Well at least they still share a stylist/colorist. They do say that the couple that highlights together (and have the same haircut) stay together.

  4. I’m sorry but Meri is and always has been pathetic. And desperate. MOVE ON! Why TF would you stay with this dude?! He divorced you to marry Robyn and I don’t care what the “reasons” were for doing so- it was for his own reasons. He doesn’t give AF about any of them except Robyn. It’s been so blatantly obvious for… forever. LET IT GO MERI! Even the little $ she makes isn’t worth looking like a pathetic human desperate for any scrap of anything that could be perceived as affection from him… and he’s disgusting!

    1. Could not, would not have anything to do with this Warren Jeffs wanna be. I throw up in my mouth just looking at him, his stringy hair, and the crazy look in his eyes. How these women could have sex with him is beyond me. He is repulsive.

  5. Well, that’s what you get when you have a year-long emotional affair, sweetie. If I was Kody I wouldn’t even speak to her, let alone give her the pity sex.

And don’t tell me “Well Kody wasn’t giving her attention so she had to find it elsewhere.” B.S. If your husband is a POS, you leave FIRST and have an affair SECOND. If she was the man and Kody was the woman, no one would be defending her and blaming it on Kody.

She and her banana selfie did it to herself.
Maybe if she actually took responsibility for it instead of playing the “poor me” victim card, her daughter and husband would have some respect for her.

  6. I’ve said it all along..meri is playing a good game. Once the show ends and the sister wives money stops, meri will too

    1. I wonder what would happen when it would come out that Meri was seeing someone
He would get so mad and accuse her of cheating because they are still married.

  7. I don’t watch this show but wow that was depressing to read. There people have one life and this is how they’re choosing to live it? Awful.

  8. It’s so sad that Meri has no self respect or self esteem. Any women with any self worth would be out the door and leave that looser. Wake up Meri he is a clown leave him

  9. At this point I feel like Meri is stupid for staying in this farce of a marriage. What does Kody lose? Nothing. He still gets emotional, physical and sexually intimacy with Robyn. So his needs are met. He doesn’t give a shit about any wife other than Robyn. He wants to get on his high horse about Meri “betraying” him because she talked to someone online? Hypocritical. She spoke with someone online because she was lonely because her needs aren’t being met. I know that Meri has a very close relationship with Mariah and Mariah’s fiance, Audrey. They run Meri’s bed and breakfast in Utah. I don’t know why she chooses to stay somewhere that she is not wanted. I’m sure Mariah & Audrey would love to see Meri more.

    1. Oh, good to know about Mariah! I do wish Meri well, I sincerely hope she’s just doing her PR/show promotion storyline.

  10. I think Meri has kept herself isolated during the pandemic in hopes that Kody and Robyn will allow her around. And because of Covid she’s desperate to hang on to whatever scrap of human connection she has left. She also seems to have strong connections to Robyn’s kids and might not want to lose them.

Ugh Meri! I want her to go to therapy and build her self confidence and get the strength to leave Kody.

Ps- what’s the deal with Mariah? Does Meri have a relationship with her?

    1. I think I remember Meri doing something with Mariah (Gay Pride? Women’s March?). So u thunk they still talk, but Mariah is living her life with her fiance far away last I heard

    2. Audrey Came out as transgender recently. They had taken a long social media break my guess is that was the reason. I think they are still in Utah and still see Meri.

      1. Oh good. I wonder if she visits Mariah or if she’s too afraid to go against robyn and Kody’s ridiculous Covid rules.
