Armando Rubio of “90 Day Fiancé” is being forced to head back to Mexico on Sunday as his 13-year-old daughter Hannah remains in the United States recovering from a brain bleed.
TMZ reports that Armando is still working through visa issues– the very thing that prevented him from accompanying Hannah to the U.S. when the teen was initially hospitalized last week. Armando does not have his green card but was granted a temporary visa that allowed him to enter the U.S. where he joined Hannah, and his husband, Kenny Niedermeier.
Kenny claims that Armando’s visa obstacles aren’t over yet. (For those wondering, Hannah has permanent resident status in the U.S., after being approved as a legal stepchild of Kenny’s.)
On Sunday, Armando’s temporary visa expires, at which point the TLC star will have to leave the U.S., cross the border to Mexico and then meet with U.S. Border Patrol, who will let him know whether or not his visa extension has been approved. As Armando works through the red tape, Kenny will remain with Hannah in Arizona, where she’ll spend the next month recovering and undergoing rehab.
As The Ashley previously reported, Hannah began experiencing strange symptoms earlier this month, including facial drooping and partial body weakness. She was first taken to a doctor in Mexico– where she, Armando and Kenny live. However, her condition was deemed serious enough for her to eventually be airlifted to Phoenix, where it was discovered that she had suffered a brain bleed.
In a update posted to social media this week, Armando and Kenny excitedly told fans that Hannah had been released from the hospital. Kenny noted that “doctors were so happy with her progress” that they decided her recovery could continue in a home setting. Still, he revealed in the update that doctors “still have no clue” what caused Hannah’s brain bleed.
Despite undergoing MRIs and CT scans, Hannah has yet to receive a diagnosis, though Kenny told TMZ that he and Armando are hoping to get some answers following Hannah’s next round of scans.
Kenny stated that his stepdaughter continues to suffer from partial blindness, weakness, and shaking, and that she remains on preventative anti-seizure medication, as well as medication for brain swelling. While the teen is resting and sleeping a lot currently, Kenny noted that Hannah is no longer “stuck in bed.” However, the weakness she’s still experiencing in her right arm and hand makes things difficult for her.
Last week, a GoFundMe was launched to help the family amid Hannah’s medical emergency and mounting medical bills. At this time, more than $175,000 has been donated to the online fundraiser.
