Amanda Conner is updating fans on her post-relapse progress, just days before she is scheduled to head to court to face the child abuse, DUI and other charges she received after her relapse and arrest in May. On Wednesday, the ‘Teen Mom’ alum posted a video to social media, letting her followers know what she’s doing to try to stay clean.
“I just wanted to give you guys an update on how life has been going for me,” Amanda said in the video. “I am still going to pre-trial.”
As The Ashley reported, Amanda was arrested on May 24 after her husband Ryan Edwards called the police and reported that Amanda was driving under the influence while their daughter Presley was in the car. Ryan told the cops that Amanda drove away after he tried to get her to take a drug test. Police tracked her down eventually, but Amanda refused to submit to a sobriety test, causing her to receive a charge of violating the Implied Consent law in Tennessee. Because Presley was in the car, she received the child abuse/neglect charge, in addition to a DUI charge and a traffic violation.

Amanda later confessed to relapsing on drugs, and she is currently sporting a (bedazzled) electronic monitor system on her ankle.
She is scheduled to face a judge on Friday for all five of her pending charges.
In the video posted on Wednesday, Amanda stated that she is currently employed, despite being let go by her previous employer following her arrest.
“I’m working— I clean houses and restaurants,” Amanda stated.

Amanda also revealed what she’s doing to stay sober. (As ‘Teen Mom’ fans know, Amanda met Ryan when both were in a residential treatment facility for substance abuse issues.)
“I do go to meetings,” Amanda stated. “I try to go to at least two a week but if not two I will definitely go to one a week. I at least try to get that one under my belt.”
Amanda claimed that she was on her way to a meeting (which we can assume is a Narcotics Anonymous — or NA– meeting) at the time she filmed her video.
It is unknown if Ryan attends meetings with Amanda now. Back in 2018, he stated during a ‘Teen Mom OG’ Reunion that he couldn’t go to drug counseling or Narcotics Anonymous meetings— as Dr. Drew Pinsky suggested— because he was too famous from appearing on ‘Teen Mom.’
“It’s honestly hard to find a counselor because of this TV show,” Ryan told Dr. Drew. “[A counselor] was like, ‘I’m not gonna see you because I don’t think the TV show and you are a good idea.’”

Anyway, last month, Amanda told her followers that she’s been getting her learn on via parenting and sobriety courses.
“I went out of my way and— I wasn’t not [sic] asked to do this by the courts, I did it myself— I did a parenting class and completed that and gave the certificate to my lawyer,” she said in a video posted in July. “And did a drug and alcohol course— it was 12 hours! Did that, and also completed that and gave that certificate to my lawyers. Fingers crossed hoping everything goes well.”
Despite this, Amanda’s followers have continued to speculate on whether or not she is currently sober.

“The ONLY REASON this liar is “sober” is because she is COURT ORDERED! Yup!” one person wrote in the comment section of her post to Facebook.
“Girl, you’re in the projects while your in-laws and family are on a luxury beach vacation?” another person wrote, referencing the fact that Amanda wasn’t able to go on the Edwards’ family’s annual beach vacation. “You had everything and just gave it away. How could you be so careless and reckless, especially about your daughter? You’ve built a whole life and just threw it away. What makes you think you’ll get a 4th, 5th, and 6th chance, even after hitting the lottery?”

Others sent Amanda well wishes in her recovery.
“Proud of you girl!” someone wrote. “One day at a time, you got this.”
“Keep going strong Amanda,” another person commented.

Who the hell wants an update on your life?? No one asked or cares. You drove high and drunk with your child in the car. You go to one fucking meeting in a week and want compassion? Go bedazzle your ankle bracelet some more bitch. We aren’t buying what you are selling. Get off SM. And go to rehab again.
Does she mean 12 hours is a lot or a little? Because that seems like too little imo…
I encourage support Amanda, but I don’t believe she is sober, or trying, or taking this seriously. These bullshit courses mean nothing, and she only took them because her lawyer told her too. She needs to go back to rehab. And truly, putting baby Presley in the back of the car while she was high and hadn’t slept in days is horrible. I’m not saying this to shame – I’m saying it because we all have a WAKE UP moment and Amanda is in denial.
If she was trying to be sober, she would be pulling stuff like a 90 in 90. Not a meeting a month. She knows the certificates look good, but as much as i wish she was sober, i mean i wish that for all addicts, I don’t think she truly is. Does she have a sponsor?
If she was serious about getting sober she’d be doing 90 in 90. (not that that necessarily is the silver bullet but it shows a lot more effort than one a week and a few 12 hour classes when you don’t even have to go to work)
I really should have read the comments first, sigh. Totally agree with you, and i dont think she is working the program.
Sounds like she’s trying to work the system instead. Isn’t that just what addicts do?
People need to have a little bit of compassion. It may take another 5 or 6 attempts but who cares, she is trying and why she tried again is irrelevant because she may be 1 step closer for a few times before she is there. Dogging her out doesn’t help her, it hurts people’s self esteem and can make them worse. Encouraging people goes a long way towards the end goal and I don’t care if it’s Brad Pitt or the homeless guy down the road as there is no difference or discrimination.
She doesn’t want to get better.
She wants to get over.
You’re ridiculous.
Having attended hundreds of AA and NA meetings previously, I have met a fairly famous actor at a popular meeting. I don’t think many people in the room recognized him though. Big shot did throw in a $20 bill to the basket though when it was only recommended $1 (now $2). Amanda and Ryan may not be able to do “California Sober”. So it’s back to the Big Book for Amanda. Court ordered 12 step meetings do very little good.
Pull a hair, swab a cheek, piss in a cup and give blood.
Her definition of “sober” is not the dictionary definition.
Doing the minimums to stay out of jail, and keep the kid. This is Amanda’s game.
She knows she can be a lifelong junkie and bad parent, and as long as she takes a class here and there, she’s under the radar.
Smh.
More like “My Lawyer told me if I wanna keep my ass outta jail I’d best be takin some classes and gettin my meetings on”. Yeah, one 12 hr drug class and probably less than that in a parenting class along with one AA meeting a week? Not to mention, a sporadic here and there cleaning job? Yeah, she’s just doing lip service hoping the judge won’t throw the book at her. Once she’s off the radar, she’ll revert back to.old habits
1) Ryan, get over yourself. Brad Pitt went to AA and he’s a much bigger “star” than you are.
2) Amanda, Jenelle has been to parenting classes multiple times and we all know how that mess has turned so bragging about going to one is not exactly the flex you think it is.
I meant turned out, not turned.
Right, no one cares about a has- been MTV cast member, lol.
He clearly misheard what the counselor said. The counselor refused to film the sessions for TM content.
Had nothing to do with his Z list 15 minutes.
