Jenelle Evans‘ son Jace has been released from the facility he’s been at for the last month or so (following a three-month stay at a camp for troubled teens).
The 17-year-old made it known he’s out by posting to his Instagram account on Wednesday. The post— which contained song lyrics and a photo of Jace’s laptop— marks the first time Jace has used his account since he was sent away following an incident at his grandma Barbara‘s house in February.
While it’s not confirmed where Jace is now staying, The Ashley suspects he’s back at Barb’s home, as Barbara has been fighting hard to get the teen to live with her. (There’s also a chance he could be staying at his dad Andrew Lewis‘ home, but it’s much more likely to be Barbara’s.)
He is no longer at a facility, though, and The Ashley can confirm he is not living with Jenelle.
Although Jenelle still (as of press time) maintains legal custody of Jace, he cannot live with her due to the fact that she has her ex-turned-current-soulmate David Eason living with her. David is legally barred from being around Jace or even having any contact with him. In order for Jace to come live with Jenelle in Florida, David would have to move out and he is currently still living there.
The Ashley can also reveal that Jace has been out of the facility for a few weeks. (The Ashley did not share this publicly, though, as she wanted to protect Jace’s privacy. However, since he has made it known himself that he is out, The Ashley will reveal what she knows.)
It does not appear that Jenelle went to get Jace herself and escort him to his next location. Instead, she sent her pal from TikTok, Dawson Day.
According to a tipster who contacted The Ashley on August 1, Dawson was seen walking with Jace through the Las Vegas airport and Jenelle was not with them. The tipster told The Ashley that Dawson and Jace were alone and Jenelle did not ever appear or board the plane with them.
“She was definitely not present at the airport with them,” the tipster told The Ashley.
Just to note, Jace and Dawson were seen at the airport the day before Jace’s 17th birthday. Jenelle made a post about Jace on August 2 to celebrate him turning 17.
“I HAVE A 17 YEAR OLD!” she wrote in her post. “Being a teenager can be hard, but you seem to handle it well. You’re so smart, curious about life, and handsome. Hope today is everything you’ve wanted and more! I love you Jace Evans.”
Jenelle and David have hung out with Dawson and his (now estranged) wife Zoe a few times, but to The Ashley’s knowledge, he does not know Jace that well.
According to court records, Jenelle, Andrew and Barbara are still scheduled to appear at a hearing on September 9 regarding the custody of Jace. As The Ashley previously reported, Barbara filed for full custody of Jace earlier this year, with Andrew filing for secondary custody soon after. (They have been working together to get Jace back to North Carolina.)
In April, Andrew started a GoFundMe to raise money for an attorney to help him fight for custody of Jace. The fundraiser (which is still open) raised just over $10,000, which Andrew used to hire the lawyer he’s still working with in the court case against Jenelle.

I just saw on your other post where she said she couldn’t pick JAce up and sent the friend ” because I have knee problems, had surgery and now am diagnosed with CRPS, I couldn’t physically travel and still can’t.” So she definitely planted that seed to tell the court to get it pushed off again.
I just know Jace is counting down the days until he turns 18 so he can go no contact with his mom.
Good on you not saying anything until he did. Appreciate the ethics here.

It’s actually terrifying that she just let some random guy he barely knows pick him up after she forced him to be isolated in a months long stay in a facility. The trauma just keeps coming for this poor kid. Good news for Jace, Barb, and Andrew though—definitely able to be used in the case to have Babs get custody again. You dig that hole, delujenelle!

At this point, I think it’s pretty safe to say that Jace knows that he is better off living far away from Jenelle. I hope that he is feeling happier and healthier than ever. Jenelle free is the way to be!
I’m GLAD Jenelle didn’t pick him up herself. It would’ve just given her the opportunity to yak at him about the assault charges against David coming up, and she would for sure try and manipulate poor Jace into saying it didn’t happen. Do the kid a favor Jenelle, leave him alone, let him heal and NEVER go near him again! Maybe if you’re lucky, he’ll come to your funeral some day.

i hope jace is actually ok especially since there’s horror stories of those “troubled teen camps” but i just know jenelle knew that already and didn’t care because she doesn’t care enough to be patient or even a parent and that’s why she has a ped0file taking care of her other kids
I hope this latest development means that Jenelle has given up on her custody battle. She will never kick David out or break up with him and Jace can’t be around him, so let Jace stay with his real mother or his real father. Jenelle only wants custody so she has control over Jace, Barb and Andrew but in another year it won’t matter. Jace will be 18 and he can (and I hope he does) tell Jenelle to drop off a cliff and never contact him again. I would imagine that, at this age, Jace might have a say in where he wants to live if the custody case moves forward. Any judge worth his salt would know what Jenelle is all about and know that she’s back with David. I have no idea why Jenelle hasn’t been cited by the court for lying under oath, but hopefully she’s going to get knocked off her high horse soon.
Cory is an amazing parent, and he showed it by all the time he spent in the hospital earlier this year with his daughter, who had major health issues.
Honestly though, good for Jace that Jenelle couldn’t be bothered to be there for him. Jace will heal from all of this and Jenelle will still be playing pretend as the doting mother. It’s just keeping herself relevant and keeping the money rolling in. Jace is on the right path. Seeing Jenelle for who she really is will be the thing that brings him into his growth and healing as he starts his adult life.

WOW. Couldn’t even fly by yourself to go and pick your son up from the “therapy facility” you forcibly had him committed to. On the plus side, I’m so glad she didn’t because she doesn’t deserve to see Jace ever again. She is that parent where it’s better if they’re not in their own child’s life

Don’t forget Jenelle previously testified under oath, accusing David of “sexual exploitation of a minor” and now had him living with her two underage children.
So, Jenelle will send a random stranger to pick Jace up, but will not go get him herself? I assume that she will blame her *knee pain* as to why she couldn’t go, but can get on the boat every other day.
Poor Jace is still the little boy sobbing through the screen door as his mom storms off without a thought for him…
