Jenny Slatten’s friend has issued a sad update on the progression of the “90 Day Fiance” star’s ALS.
On Wednesday, family friend Serma Minincleri posted an update to the GoFundMe page she started for Jenny and Sumit Singh back in May, which has raised over $124,000 as of press time.
“Jenny is getting weaker by the day,” Serma shared. “She is on 2 medications for ALS which are Edaravone and Riluzole, [which are] both supposed to slow the process down. Both pills make Jenny very tired, plus she takes B12, melatonin and magnesium.”
Serma stated that Jenny’s condition has unfortunately worsened to the point that speaking has become painful for her.
“Jenny hardly speaks now as it hurts,” she wrote. “Sumit speaks more for her and is the main spokesperson for his wife. Sumit is Jenny’s main caregiver and doing a great job each day.”

The update went on to say that Jenny has seen numerous neurologists and speech therapists recently and is “doing what is asked of her.”
Serma added that Jenny plans to begin acupuncture soon, as well as other holistic treatments that they hope will help with her mobility and reduce her tiredness.
Jenny and Sumit announced in May that she had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which is a “fatal and progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord,” according to the Mayo Clinic. It causes muscle weakness and, eventually, loss of mobility and speech.
There is currently no cure for ALS and the two medications Serma says Jenny is taking slow down the chemical responses that cause her debilitating symptoms, but do not actually eradicate the disease.

Sumit has stated that Jenny’s symptoms began long before her diagnosis, and even before they traveled to England to film for “90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort” Season 3. He said that when they received her diagnosis in December 2025, doctors said that it’s possible Jenny could’ve been living with early stages of ALS for nearly two years.
Jenny and Sumit have issued several updates on Jenny’s health since they announced her diagnosis, with the most-recent update touching on Jenny’s speech and mobility and Sumit’s ongoing visa process to get to the U.S., which he started in July. The couple currently lives in Sumit’s home country of India but are trying to move to the U.S. as Jenny’s condition worsens.
In August, Sumit stated that Jenny is having trouble balancing and moving around as the strength in her spine weakens. Sumit said that “it’s about time [they] will start using the equipment,” referring to mobility aids.

Sumit’s visa process has unfortunately stalled after his first visa application was denied. He explained that the Indian consulate originally scheduled his visa appointment for February 2027, but officials granted him an earlier meeting after he explained the urgency of his situation.
Sumit said that during his interview, he mentioned his and his wife’s appearances on “90 Day Fiancé,” which he believes led the consulate to reject his application. He claimed that once the show came into the conversation, the interviewer rerouted the questions to discuss Sumit’s intentions for going to America.
Sumit stated that he believed that since many former cast members took the opportunity of coming to America to “scam” their partners, the consulate assumed that of him as well. They are currently in the process of appealing their rejection.
The season finale of “90 Day Fiance: The Last Resort” airs Monday on TLC.

ALS is a horrible disease that I would not wish on anyone. I’m glad she’s able to access care in India & that Sumit is with her taking care of her. Just an awful situation.
