HGTV Picks Up ‘Flip or Flop’ for 9th Season, Set to Premiere in August with Tarek El Moussa & Christina Anstead

“Keep those checks coming, HGTV!”

HGTV’s hit series Flip or Flop has been picked up for a new season slated to premiere in August 2020, featuring formerly married real estate and house-flipping experts Christina Anstead and Tarek El Moussa.

In the press release from HGTV, we learn that along with Christina and Tarek’s incredible renovations, the show’s 9th season will continue to follow the two as they co-parent the two children they share and run a successful business.

“Good thing we chose to decorate with these things instead of throwing them at each other.”

“Christina and Tarek’s relatable, personal journey attracts millions of viewers who now have a true emotional stake in their story and want to see more,” HGTV President Jane Latman said in the press release. “Their story is read, compelling and filled with the hallmarks of HGTV hits—family and unforgettable personalities with home-related expertise who are passionate about the work that turns houses into homes.”

On Thursday, Christina shared her excitement about Season 9 of ‘Flip or Flop’ on Instagram.

“And just like that – the band is back together – again,” she posted, along with a photo of the crew. “I cannot believe we are shooting SEASON 9!!! It’s so crazy to think about. When we were shooting a pilot in 2010 I never in my life thought it would be picked up for a while series let alone a TV show that has lasted 9 seasons.”

She went on to thank the show’s producer and also comment on she and Tarek’s status post-split.

“It’s been 3.5 years since Tarek and I separated and we are both in a good place and ready to make a great season,” she said.

As The Ashley previously told you, Christina married British TV star Ant Anstead in December 2018 and the two went on to welcome a son together in September.

Tarek has also moved on since his divorce and is currently dating luxury real estate agent Heather Rae Young.

❤️❤️❤️ I can’t tell you how long I’ve been waiting to post a photo just like this! . As you know…life has been pretty tough on me since 2013. I look at the last 6 years and sometimes wonder how I made it lol. . It was extremely tough fighting two cancers, back surgery and a public divorce. . I hit my rock bottom years ago and found myself lost and alone. It wasn’t easy but I got up every day and believed life would improve no matter how bad it was. . Well…I’m happy to say it got better:) like way freaking better! . I honestly gave up on love until I saw @heatherraeyoung last summer on the boat next to mine:) . The second I laid eyes on her I knew there was something special about her and I was right! . She is absolutely incredible and me and the babies love and adore her:) . Thank you @heatherraeyoung for coming into our life and making this photo possible:) . I just love you and our little family ❤️❤️❤️ so much!! . Side note- Do you like the dope pajamas 😂😂😂?
