Another ‘Bachelor’ Divorce! ‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Couple Evan Bass & Carly Waddell Separate After 3 Years of Marriage

“Got any spots left for ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ 2021, Chris Harrison?”

Another Bachelor Nation couple bites the dust!

One day after Tayshia Adams accepted a proposal to end her season of The Bachelorette, the franchise’s fans were dealt a devastating blow when Carly Waddell and Evan Bass— one of Bachelor Nation’s seemingly strongest married couples— announced they’ve split.

In a statement issued to People magazine on Wednesday, the Bachelor In Paradise couple asked for privacy.

“We have made the difficult decision to separate,” Evan and Carly— who share two children— said. “We will always cherish our time together and continue to have the utmost respect for one another as we focus on what’s best for the future of our family. We greatly appreciate everyone’s love and support and kindly ask that you please respect our family’s privacy as we navigate through this.”

Carly and Evan met on ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 3, and, although Carly rejected Evan multiple times, she eventually fell for him. They got engaged during the Season 3 finale and had their June 2017 wedding featured on ‘BIP’ Season 4.

Carly gave birth to their daughter Isabella in 2018, and their son Charlie in November 2019.

Carly and Evan’s breakup is just the latest in a year of shocking ‘Bachelor’ splits. In October, Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum announced they were getting divorced after almost seven years of marriage. One month earlier, former ‘Bachelorette’ Becca Kufrin split with her fiance from the show Garrett Yrigoyen after several years together. In May, ‘Bachelor’ Colton Underwood ended his relationship with Cassie Randolph…and that breakup later turned into a restraining order filed against Colton by Cassie.

Carly and Evan have yet to release any further statements on their split.

  1. Carly wanted to get married. She wanted a successful TV love story. This is the least surprising news ever.

  2. They were living separately for an entire year (which was only common knowledge because Nick Viall is rude). They were also an odd pairing, considering Carly wasn’t attracted to Evan and didn’t like him at all.
