‘Teen Mom’ News Pile: Devoin Austin Gets Worried About His Gambling, Jenelle Evans Gets Called Out for Allegedly Saying Horrible Things to Nik Richie & More

“Maybe I need to cool it on the casino trips?”

From getting worried about their spending habits, to getting called out for their past mean comments, the stars of the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise (both past and present) have been keeping themselves busy lately! In an effort to get you up-to-date on the latest Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 news, The Ashley brings you the Teen Mom News Pile.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that have happened over the last week or so…

Devoin Austin (Publicly) Worried That He May Have a Gambling Problem

Why you don’t post about your problems on the InterWebs…

Devoin can’t seem to get on the right side of his baby mama Briana— or his finances!

The ‘Teen Mom 2’ dad recently wondered publicly if he may be suffering from an addiction to gambling, and even asked his followers for help quelling his need to place bets.

“I got a severe gambling problem and need serious help,” Devoin posted on Instagram Stories around 3 a.m. EST on Monday. “Any recommendations? Please help me.”

He later clarified that he hasn’t gone to drastic measures to fund his possible addiction, but did state that he’s worried about himself.

“Don’t get me wrong,” he wrote. “I’m not like sellin my s**t to gamble or that f**ked up…but I’m noticing I spend vacations in the casino. And that really bothers me…I just can’t get right.”

Last month, Devoin admitted to spending $700 on sneakers.

“I spent $700 on some 700 Yeezys…I need a financial advisor,” he wrote on Instagram Stories.

As you do…

Catelynn Lowell & Tyler Baltierra still don’t understand how taxes work.

Cate and Tyler, dodging adult responsibilities…

‘Teen Mom OG’ stars Catelynn Lowell and Tyler Baltierra still owe nearly $900,000 in taxes, stemming from two federal tax liens the couple received in 2019– both of which remain unpaid, The Sun reported this week.

As The Ashley previously told you, the ‘Teen Mom OG’ couple were slapped with the first of two federal tax liens in November 2019 (for the tax years of 2016 and 2017) in the amount of $534,010.97. Their second federal tax lien came the following month (for the 2018 tax year) in the amount of $321,789.06.

“Or my taxes, if I can help it.”

In addition to the $856,800, it was revealed in April that the two owed an additional sum of nearly $7,000 in property taxes for the two Michigan homes they own–- the octagon-shaped home the couple currently reside in, as well as a smaller home in St. Clair, Michigan, where Tyler allowed his sister Amber Baltierra to live (and trash) at one point.

While Cate and Tyler’s clothing business Tierra Reign in currently inactive, the couple have been pulling in paychecks from MTV for more than a decade, while Tyler continues to flip houses and Cate pursues her career in micro-blading.

Cate also infamously earns some coin on social media through the many clickbait stories she allows to be shared on her behalf.

Still, a Michigan clerk confirmed to The Sun that Cate and Ty have yet to pony up the money owed to the IRS.

Obviously…

Nik Richie Claims Jenelle Evans Told Him He Deserved to Have His Baby Die

“I’ll never forget, Jenelle!”

TW: Miscarriage, Infant Loss

Nik— the founder of TheDirty.com and the owner of one of the major clickbait companies— recently made some disturbing claims on a podcast regarding Jenelle Evans. Nik appeared on The Skinny Confidental: Him & Her podcast, telling the show’s hosts that, when he and his now ex-wife Shayne Llamas lost a child back in 2014, Jenelle bombarded him with horrible tweets, saying he deserved what was happening to his family.

In 2014, Shayne– who won ‘The Bachelor’ in 2008 and later appeared with Nik on ‘Couples Therapy’– collapsed while 20 weeks pregnant and ended up miscarrying the baby boy she was pregnant with. Shayne spent time in a medically induced coma in the ICU due to massive hemorrhaging during the miscarriage.

Anyway, according to Nik, Jenelle made the incident even harder by sending him mean tweets, allegedly stating that he deserved to have his wife in a coma and child die, due to the website that he ran. (The Ashley can not confirm or deny that Jenelle did, indeed, tweet these things to Nik.)

“It was so intense and so surreal,” Nik said of the tragedy. “And the hate that I was getting was so intense, it was hard…. [on] Twitter…people were just celebrating.

“I remember Jenelle Evans from ‘Teen Mom’ was like, ‘You deserve this, your dead fetus. This is your karma.’ And I was just like, ‘Wow.’ And you start thinking, ‘Is this something that I did? Did I put so much negative energy into the world that it’s coming back like this?'”

Over the years, Jenelle and Nik have had plenty of online beef, and this is not the first time Nik has mentioned Jenelle’s alleged tweets about his dead son. Back in 2019, after it was revealed that Jenelle’s husband David Eason killed Jenelle’s dog, Nik left a comment on an Instagram story about what Jenelle allegedly said to him.

“Jenelle was the one who said she was happy my son died #karma,” he wrote, later adding, “She did apologize to me privately.”

Jenelle has not yet commented on Nik’s claims.

You can listen to the full podcast interview here. (He mentions Jenelle around the one-hour mark, by the way.)

Cheyenne Floyd’s sister R Kyle Lynn isn’t here for any Floyd Family criticism.

R’nt You Glad Your Sister Signed You Up For This?

Cheyenne’s sister R Kyle Lynn is firing back at ‘Teen Mom OG’ fans for criticizing her family’s reaction to the news that she was relocating to Washington D.C. to be with Mezie, the father of her son.

Spoiler alert: The Floyds weren’t thrilled about this reunion.

R posted a long message to Instagram Stories (that was later shared by the @teenmomshaderoom_ Instagram account). She told her followers that she didn’t watch the most-recent episode of ‘Teen Mom OG,’ and is “clueless as to how they edited it,” but that she doesn’t give “[a f**k].”

Except she definitely does…

R, who is currently expecting her second child with Mezie, confirmed that she is single and did not end up moving to D.C., though her decision to stay in California had “nothing to do with my family.”

“Yes, my family is protective and saw things that I was blind [to] at the moment because my focus was on my child and I honestly didn’t consider myself in the equation,” she continued. “If them caring about the well+being of me and [my son] Baaz is selfish IRL, so be it. We operate outta love, actually like each other, and are tight knit.”

That’s another way to say it…

R said she wishes to finish her pregnancy in peace and anyone that tries to go against that will be blocked.

“I don’t know who raised y’all people to be so quick to judge, assume, and think you know it all… some of you were raised by wolves and it really shows,” she added. “Some of y’all are so mean & I haven’t done s**t to you… y’all wild.”

“Welcome to the world of MTV reality TV shows, R!”

  1. Oh and Jenelle saying horrible things online It’s not surprising at all..She does horrible things IRL all the time so …no surprise there. I’m not a big fan of NR but that was so sad what they went through.,

Karma would be having your website tank, getting sued etc… all of which have happened. Not having your children die and almost having your wife die of hemorrhaging. 😪

  2. Many times people with gambling problems are also shopaholics.,They tend to buy big ticket items so they have some thing of value to resell.,It’s a weird mentality but often that’s the case..I Applaud him for seeking help.

I have no beef with Kate and Tyler but I have a huge beef with people that don’t pay their taxes..Why would you be immune to paying taxes when the rest of the world (that makes so much less than you guys ) have to pay them and manage to live on a much smaller budget for our families. Why is that that a lot of folks that make more money (than the average person) feel they do not need to pay taxes But feel like it’s OK for families that makes so much less,, to pay them. And they get all the benefits of it. Whether it’s paying the school taxes, paying to have your road paved, paying for for ppl on social Security etc..

And I absolutely applaud R choice. Cheyenne and her mother were being horribly selfish..Yes I get being protective but she’s a grown woman in a relationship and having 2 kids ..I thought Cheyenne’s reaction was selfish because She didn’t speak about being protective of her sister… she only thought about how it would affect her and her daughter. Those mistakes are R’s to make. I’m sure they have watched Cheyenne make mistakes that they thought were not wise for her. I cannot that imagines being a mother with two children and all you can think about is how much that would impact YOUR life And your situation.,I’ve lived with my sister and my husband and then when our family grew….I moved out and did my own thing and my sister did hers. That’s called life. Her mistakes to make. Your job is to be supportive of whatever Road she chooses and be there if it doesn’t work out.

  3. Good for Devoin.

They have a gambling addiction hotline he can use.

C&T? Just keep popping out more expenses. TM will last forever.

R? Girl bye. I love when tough guys get all in their feelings.

  4. I really admire Devoin for reaching out for help. That’s very brave, especially since he’s a public figure.
Those joking about him doing it are just a-holes acting all tough to cover for their own weaknesses. As usual. Yawn.
I have no experience with gambling, but I wish I did so I could help him.
All I can say is, I’ve lost out on a ton of money for other reasons, and 5, 10, 15 years down the road it makes you sick to your stomach, literally daily. I would give anything to go back and change what I did to screw it up. It’s too late for me, but he’s still young and still has the chance. I hope he figures it out with help from some nice person out there.

  5. If my boy Devoin has a gambling problem I think I can help him.

    I like this weekend

    1. Tampa Bay -7
    2. Ravens + 1.5
    3. Detroit + 3

That should get him back on track

    stay lit

  6. Absolutely no sympathy for the Devoin and Cate and Ty. These morons had money thrown at them for no good reason and now have “money problems”??!!? They can sit and spin for all I’m concerned. No one deserves to lose a child, but Nic is truly a horrible, horrible, horrible person that has literally ruined people’s lives unapologetically and got rich off it. He can sit and spin for sure and I’m glad Shayne left his punk ass. Can’t be bothered to care at all about anything having to do with Cheyenne’s segments.

    1. You can say all you want about having no sympathy for Cate and Ty (lots of ppl on here do)

But Devoin has a problem and he’s reaching out for help. We should be encouraging him not being jackasses because we dont like EVERYTHING they do or EVERY decision they make!!

  7. Devoin….you don’t have a gambling problem, you have a SHOPPING problem. You can…

    1. Put your money in the bank.
    2. Spend it on your child.
    3. Help Cate and Tyler pay their taxes.

Cate and Tyler…You owe THAT much money to the tax man and you own TWO houses???!

    SELL ONE OF THEM!!! Duh.

R whatever the rest of your name is…..

If you don’t like Teen Mom fans having an opinion of you and your life, get off the reality show.

    1. I want to ammend this a bit. I reread the article, and I was too quick to comment.

If Devoin needs help he is smart to reach out like that. I hope he maybe tries Gamblers Anonymous or some other program that works for him.

Apologies if you see this D. When Im wrong I say it.

      1. Actually I think you were right with the shopping addiction. Devoin may very well have both.

While gambling is an insidious disease, it struck me as odd he was reaching out for help, concerned about finances… then impulsively buys $700 shoes? That doesn’t sound like gambling because I would think your impulse would be to gamble that $700 hoping for way more. Not on a pair of tacky overpriced shoes

        1. It could be a bit of each – shopping and gambling. He may have an compulsive spending problem, which is often linked with gambling, as well. Both are a type of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, in which the person is essentially achieving a high when they buy something new or win a few bucks at the casino. But just like a drug or alcohol high wears off, this one does, too. Then the person is left with a closet full of shoes they never wear, debts incurred from all the shopping, and they still feel empty. Kudos to Devoin for recognizing that there may be a problem, and asking for help. I hope he gets some therapy to get things under control.

    2. Haters gotta hate…ain’t that right SNICKLEFRITZ!!!

Devoin very well could have a problem, at least hes facing the music!!

Yes Cate and Ty own 2 houses but one is THEIR home and the other is the rental property. Its not their faults the housing market SUCKS in Michigan and nobody wants to rent, so why should they get rid of it when it’s LITERALLY their ONLY means of finance (other than MTV)

And maybe R is trying to quit the show, I get the feeling that’s part of the reason she wants to move to DC?

  8. The world needs more people like Devoin, I’m not a fan of his parenting (or lack thereof) but to admit you may have a problem is the first step.
