Eliminated ‘Bachelorette’ Star Clayton Echard Is Named Season 26 ‘Bachelor’

“Is there any way to weed out the ones that are here to become Instagram influencers?”

Clayton Echard is looking for love– again!

A week after the former NFL player was sent home by Bachelorette Michelle Young, ABC has announced that Clayton will have another shot at finding true love as the Season 26 Bachelor, People reports.

The 28-year-old’s new leading role was revealed at the end of Tuesday’s episode of ‘The Bachelorette,’ just a week after fans saw him break down in tears after being eliminated.

“I just want to find love so badly and have a family,” Clayton told cameras during his final episode. “And start that chapter of my life. I want it more than anything else. I’ll do whatever it takes to get that. Whatever it takes.”

In the first teaser for Clayton’s season, viewers learn that the medical sales rep is optimistic about finding the one, despite his emotional exit from ‘The Bachelorette.’

Well that’s one way to work through your grief.

“I’m just a Midwest guy from Missouri that just wants to find love,” Clayton says in the clip. “And I believe more than anything that my future wife is here.”

…and we believe more than anything that she’s either crying or yelling at someone in the teaser.

The clip also gives fans a preview of the many breakdowns, blowups and bare-chested moments in store for Season 26, and in true ‘Bachelor’ fashion, there are A LOT.

“Anything for ratings love!”

Leading Clayton on his ‘Bachelor’ journey will be former ‘Bachelor’ and NFL player Jesse Palmer, who will host Season 26 in the wake of Chris Harrison’s exit from the franchise earlier this year.

Season 26 of ‘The Bachelor’ premieres Monday, January 3 on ABC.
