Cheyenne Floyd & Zach Davis Say They Were Shot At 13 Times While In Their Car With Their Kids; ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ Couple Says They Know The Shooter

Teen Mom: The Next Chapter premiered this week with moms from Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 coming together to share their stories on the new series, including Cheyenne Floyd, who began to share details of a recent shooting she and her family were involved in.

During Tuesday’s episode, Cheyenne sat with fiancé Zach Davis as the two recalled the traumatic incident, which occurred a few months ago while the two were driving with their children in the backseat.

“We woke up, Ryder had an appointment at the doctor’s, Ace had his first checkup. We were just riding, music playing like a normal car day,” Zach shared. “And Chey looks at me and she goes, ‘What is that?’ And there was a green beam on my face.”

(Colored laser beams are often used on guns to help improve the accuracy of the shot. Green-colored lasers are often used for daytime shooting, to help the shooter see their target better in bright conditions.)

“When I saw the beam on Zach’s face, I looked past it,” Cheyenne added. “I was just in complete and utter shock.”

Zach said he looked at the individual who was holding the gun, only to realize it was somebody he and Cheyenne know.

“Not only is it that we just we know him, like, he’s been here at Chey’s house,” Zach said. “There’s pictures with him [in them]. And all of a sudden, I mean, you just, you start hearing the shots. He hit the car 13 times [with bullets] and we crashed into the back of a Prius.”

(Cheyenne and Zach were seen later in the episode heading to court to presumably face the individual for the first time since the shooting; however, the individual’s lawyer ended up pushing the court date back, prolonging Cheyenne from finding “closure.”)

Zach noted that after the shooting, his car door had to be plied open, calling the terrifying shooting “the worst feeling in the world.”

“It’s a miracle that we are still here and God literally covered us that day,” Cheyenne said. “Because every cop who was there, they said they do not understand how we’re all alive.”

“We are stuck in a constant replay of the worst day of your life. Everything is just a trigger. Everything is a reminder,” Cheyenne told her mother during the episode, after finding out that the shooter’s court case had been delayed. “I feel like he didn’t kill us, but he took so much from us.

“…It’s just not fair. I don’t get why we have to go through that. I don’t get why the kids had to go through that,” Cheyenne added.

Following Tuesday’s episode, Cheyenne took to her Instagram Story to comment on the hard year her family has had, noting they are “alive and extremely blessed.”

“Thank you to our friends and family who have been going through this hell with us,” she added. “We got this.”

The Ashley has been unable to find any media coverage of the “shooting” but will continue to look for more information about the incident.

In a trailer for ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ that was released last week, viewers were given a glimpse of Cheyenne being loaded onto a stretcher and then onto a hospital bed.

It was also mentioned in the cast bios that Cheyenne claimed to have been “shot at” while driving in her car with her kids and had to undergo surgery for her “injury”; however, specifics about Cheyenne’s injury have yet to be revealed.

Leading up to the premiere, Cheyenne was questioned by fans on social media about her mysterious medical injury, though she did not provide details on what exactly had occurred.

“It’s hard to answer some questions because it will just lead to more questions and I would like to explain everything from the beginning so we just have to wait for [‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’] to air,” she said. “That will explain everything.”

  1. Cheys fiancé has a million criminal charges. Guaranteed it was because of some shady shit he was involved in and they are trying to hush it up. I’m laughing at the story of some “rando” at their house. No news coverage? Why aren’t they saying his name? This would be ALL OVER the local news. It’s not adding up

  2. “ The Ashley has been unable to find any media coverage of the “shooting” but will continue to look for more information about the incident.”

I see what you did there 😏

  3. I’m so sorry and sad that they had In no way of trying to save themselves and their family by being trapped in a car with small kids strapped in the back seat.

  4. Hmmm I’m not saying they are lying. Obviously being vague to keep us watching the story unfold but let’s call a few, let’s say interesting parts out.

Zach says this was for aces first check up putting the date around May-June 2021. But the Ashley has an article saying that MTV confirmed Cheyennes surgery was due to the shooting and surgery was July 2022. If he misspoke and was his first birthday checkup it still would put the appointment in May. It isn’t inconceivable I guess that something from the shooting took a year to present. She did say it would be easier to tell by us watching it unfold.

A guy who knew where you lived chose to follow your car in broad daylight (instead of ambushing at your house) and your able to see a laser beam on head, the shooter is close enough that you both see his face yet he misses all of you thirteen times. If not lying, certainly would seem someone was sending a very big warning. I wouldn’t feel safe showing off my new house off.

Interesting timing of a blind item in June about a teen mom star being investigated for drug trafficking and the shooting if it happened in July. Total speculation but would make a hell of a lot more sense than some dude whose been to parties at their house stalking them and for no reason shooting up their car with their children in it 13 times.

  5. They get shot at for Zacks shady shenanigans, Bri, Ashley and fam get kicked out of fam reunion. Why is it always the poc acting out of pocket?

    1. Ryan and jenelle nodding off on camera; amber taking fentanyl patches allowing multiple felons near her baby and beating two baby daddies, butch being a lifelong drug user and loser, and adams reckless driving/dv/drug surely represents all white people.

Your comment says far more about you than any POC.

      1. I’m talking about the ones currently on the show. Jenelle is about as ghetto as it gets, amber and Ryan are CLEARLY crackheads, no doubt as is the Beaver clan. All of your comment except for Amber is drug related only.

Forgot to add Luke’s family to the above comment. Like it or not, it’s the poc throwing chairs, standing on tables in restaurants, spitting on ppl, screaming like banshees in the street tryin to fight, shooting up their own parties and getting shot at with kids in the car.

  6. I am hella confused as to when this actually happened because they said it was the babies first appointment which meant this must have happened last year? So how are we only hearing about it now? It just seems a little sketch to me that nobody can find information on the timeline.

    1. Plus a teen mom ‘reality star’ in car shooting with 15 bullets hitting the car would be ALL OVER the local news. MTV can’t shut up real news when it happened. So Cheyenne bf probably shot the car himself. Wouldn’t put it past her fame whore ass. She just thinks she’s something special.

  7. How terrifying for all of them. Poor little Ryder is so sweet and would’ve been so scared. I’m glad everyone involved is ok. Including the Prius driver.

  8. People who you know, don’t shoot at you for no reason. I’m just sitting here waiting for the rest of the story.

  9. Nobody shoots at you for no reason. Zach is bad news, Cheyenne needs to get the hell away from him, and fast. Or next time she won’t be so lucky and she and her kids are gonna end up dead as well. Children and women are collateral damage in these gang wars.

      1. Then she’s got a death wish for her & her babies. The DUI’s are nothing, but if he’s in a gang and/or deals in drugs, rival gangs fight over turf, who will sell where, etc. They’re still in danger if they got the cops involved, don’t know what his charges are, but I’d bet one of them is possession of a firearm by a felon. Which is a 5 year add-on sentence in almost every state. I can guarantee this ain’t over. Someone wants him DEAD, shooting up a car with babies in it 15 damn times. They’re lucky the guy is an awful shot.

  10. Truly horrible experience for Cheyenne and her family – my friend dodged a bullet while walking with her baby and over a year later she still has PTSD. Cheyenne will likely have PTSD for years to come as well – perhaps the same for Ryder.

However, the red flags keep piling up with Zach and this is a serious one – he was targeted for a shooting putting his family’s life at risk. He was arrested likely in front of his stepdaughter who is old enough to understand what is going on at the airport. Wonder how Corey feels about Ryder’s soon to be stepfather putting his daughter’s life in danger. I haven’t watched the show in years, but if he’s as involved of a father as he claims to be, he should be demanding that Zach get out of the picture or else he gets full custody even if that means baby mama drama.

  11. I can’t imagine how scary this must’ve been, with the two little kids in the backseat.

That said, while I haven’t watched the episode, and I’m only going by what I’ve read…but…it irks me that Cheyenne seemed to use this as a tease for the new season/episode. “We just have to wait for [‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’] to air.” It’s off-putting to me.

    1. what does that have to do with what what happened to her and her family??? cheyenne apologized and has shown that she has changed meanwhile u don’t see this same energy with farrah or jenelle who have continued to say and do racist racist things. and even then nobody deserves something like this happening to them

    2. Me, a white woman, cant speak for all white women, but I dont se anything just about shooting up little babies, blue or whatever color. In fact, I dont see anything just in shooting people no matter the color of the skin.

  12. the scene was so heartbreaking to watch 💔 ik we all still have a lot of questions but regardless there was no excuse for that “friend” to have done what he did & to put 2 innocent babies lives in danger and no matter how y’all feel about cheyenne she didn’t deserve this and you’re the worst person in the planet if u think she did

    1. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone, but there are far, far worse things than WISHING for something bad to happen to someone else, so I’m going to respectfully disagree with your last statement. That would not make one, “the worst person in the planet.”
