In one of her recent TikTok Live crash outs, Amber Portwood doubled down on her decision to commit domestic violence against her ex and (first) baby daddy Gary Shirley years ago, claiming that Gary deserved the physical abuse for allegedly cheating on her.
As longtime fans of Teen Mom may remember, Amber was filmed multiple times during the early seasons of the MTV series physically assaulting Gary, sometimes while the former couple’s then-infant daughter Leah was in the room. (In fact, Amber ended up getting elevated charges because of this back in 2012 during one of her arrests for domestic violence against Gary.)
While Amber has made it a habit of taking to TikTok Live in recent months to blame Gary (and his wife, Kristina Shirley) for causing the estrangement between her and her 16-year-old daughter, she’s also used the platform to accuse Gary of some very unsavory things.
During one of her more recent (and seemingly endless) streaming sessions, Amber decided to address the time(s) she became physically violent with Gary, revealing that she doesn’t regret putting her hands on him, as she believes he had it coming.
“Honey, you shouldn’t have cheated on me, what do you want me to do?” Amber said on TikTok Live. “Am I sorry for certain things I did after you cheated on me? Hell no, not at all. Not one bit. You should not have cheated on me three times.”
Amber went on to ask viewers why she would be sorry for her past actions against Gary, to which her TikTok Live streaming bestie, Mr. Hoodz, mentioned that Gary “is a big dude.”
“Yeah! I’m not gonna be sorry about that,” Amber responded. “He cheated on me three times when we had a baby, I’m not gonna be sorry. Like, come on now. [That’s] crazy.
“And I stuck by [him] with all of that other crap,” she continued. “Come on now!”
While Amber claims to have zero regrets about physically abusing Gary years ago, she recently denied the alleged events that took place after her and ex Andrew Glennon’s (very) tumultuous breakup, which led to her 2019 arrest for domestic battery.
Amber has also maintained on TikTok Live (natch) in recent months that she has a great relationship with her and Andrew’s seven-year-old son, James, despite the very public and bitter custody fight she and Andrew went through years ago, which ended with Andrew being awarded sole custody of the then-four-year-old. At the time, an Indiana judge also granted Andrew’s petition to relocate to California with James, while Amber has remained living in Indiana. (Amber is allowed to fly to California every other month to visit James and Andrew was ordered at the time to bring James to Indiana on the alternating months for visits, too.)
Surprisingly, Andrew even sang Amber’s praises back in December, telling Us Weekly that communication between them has “improved dramatically” and that he and Amber are able to “be on the same page for the sake of our son.”
Andrew, who made these comments amid Amber and Gary’s public co-parenting feud, also told the outlet that Amber is in “constant communication” with their son and is a “loving, caring and present” mom to James.

Amber is beyond mentally ill. She should not be trusted around Leah and James or anyone for that matter. She needs to be taken out of society. I read/saw on TT that she has a new man too. Anybody in their right mind should have nothing to do with her. Her imaginary $30 million dollars she has can’t buy her true love or her kids. My heart only goes out to Leah and James. Amber is a truly disgusting waste of a life.

As someone who was beat to shit and almost unalived by my partner because he THOUGHT I was cheating, fuck Amber and I sincerely hope Gary went to therapy to cope with all of that. I still suffer severely with PTSD because of what he did to me.
Right. Because she was so committed to him. All she did was use him as a punching bag! I’m glad Gary found a nice girl that truly loves him, while Pyscho Couch Surfer is still flailing and has gotten nowhere.
Her only friends are those weird puppets she sits on the couch next to her.
I predict Amber will be at peace in about 5 years. This level of manic can’t be sustained for the rest of her life.
You’d be surprised. I have a family member exactly like her and believe me it gets worse. Mine is older than Amber and has attacked all 5 of her own children, even as adults.
My mama’s oldest sister is very Amber-like and she’s in her early sixties now and nobody in our family has spoken to her in years, not even any of her five kids, and she’s faked her death a few times since then (messaging people as whatever husband she has at the time and saying she died). She actually could really be dead by now for all any of us know. She would constantly lie on people, calling the cops and CPS if she didnt get her way or was just bored. One of her sons stopped talking to her after one of her crazy spouts several years ago and so she had him investigated for terrorism (he worked as a civilian on a navy base and she made up all kinds of crazy stuff that he was “planning” to do). That type of crazy knows no bounds or age.

What she did in the photo above when Leah was in the room was seen by a cps worker who was watching the show and that’s why she lost custody of Leah. She almost pushed him down the stairs one night and he had stuff in his hands but it wasn’t Leah. It may have been her baby seat. How he remained calm and didn’t punch her out is beyond me. He just took it and I cried for him. Having said that it was his calmness or smartness during the situation that got him custody. I don’t think cheating was mentioned she was juat p****d because he had a job and a working car and she was at home with a baby she didn’t want. Andrew needs to be careful vouching for her in court or publicly because she will turn anyway. Gary used to vouch for her all the time I. Social media, on the show, in court and so did Kristina and look what she has done to them and over the years. She probably paid/threatened Andrew to say that stuff for her. She forgets that James and Leah will have a relationship down the track and they will both see what she has said and done to their dads. Poor things, especially Leah since the show is still running and the kids at her school know she is on it and they are watching it.

Imagine being Leah and watching your egg donor say she doesn’t regret hitting your loving father repeatedly in front of you and on national TV.
And then Amber says it’s not Leah’s decision to have no contact with her.
Leah is a smart kid. VERY SMART kid. I think seeing all of this makes her realize what kind of life she doesn’t want to live. There’s no way she will be a teen mom or go from relationship to relationship. She also sees with his dad being with Kristina for ages that life can also be stable and happy.

Of course, it’s always everyone else’s fault that Amber is a an unstable and violent monster. I am so glad that her kids haven’t been in her custody for years. There’s no way she wouldn’t be hitting and screaming all day, every day if they lived with her.

It is incredibly sad how some of the teen mom cast never grew up, even all these years later. I was a young mom right alongside them and I am particularly floored with how Jenelle, Amber, and C&T have shown little emotional growth at all. They all need Jesus.
I think C&T are in a slightly different category. They needed to stay in counseling after putting Carly up for adoption to deal with that delusion they had, along with their family dysfunction. They also needed to get off TV; that might have helped them to mature.
I’d have to disagree. Having creepy, private conversations with minor girls in an attempt to stalk someone else’s child, who has been clearly blocked from you.. that sort of behavior skeahs otherwise.
