The questionable carnival ride rollercoaster that is Mama June Shannon’s family took another twist over the weekend when it was revealed that Jessica Shannon had sex with Josh Efird’s dad, Bubba!
Jessica’s ex-wife Shyann McCant blurted out the shocking news in the comment section of a post she made to Facebook on Saturday, seemingly in an attempt to shame Jessica. While many were shocked by the news, Mama June went on to confirm that Shyann was telling the truth about Jessica banging Josh’s dad Bubba. (And, of course, his name is Bubba.)
June then blasted Shyann in a Live rant on social media and the whole family jumped in.

As fans of ‘Mama June: Family Crisis’ know, Josh is the ex-husband of Jessica’s older sister Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon. Pumpkin and Josh divorced in August 2024, after which Pumpkin began dating Josh’s cousin Darrin Kitchens. Meanwhile, Jessica and ex-wife Shyann McCant announced their split in June– just days after their wedding episode aired. The news of the couple’s split also came after it was revealed on the show that Jessica and Shyann had a threesome with Josh in the hopes of conceiving a baby.
While Shyann and Jessica initially vowed to end their marriage amicably and remain friends, things quickly went south, due in part to June revealing on social media that Shyann cheated on Jessica while the two were still married.
Although Jessica and Shyann’s divorce was recently finalized, the feud between the former families ramped up over the weekend after Shyann tried to expose Jessica’s new relationship with girlfriend Taylor Miller on Facebook, to which Jessica responded by basically telling Shyann that she was never hiding her relationship to begin with.
As a result of her ill-fated attempt to expose Jessica’s not-so-secret romance, Shyann was accused by fans online of being jealous of Jessica’s “new boo.” Fans also continued to shame Shyann for cheating on Jessica. While responding to one of her critics on Facebook, Shyann decided to up the ante on this apparent race to the bottom by revealing something about Jessica that actually was a secret– to most people, that is.
“ … wasn’t just me [sleeping with Josh], [Jessica] was right there doing it with me AND she slept with Josh’s dad,” Shyann wrote. “Oof y’all didn’t know that part did y’all?”
Shyann went on to clarify in another comment that the man Jessica had sex with wasn’t Josh’s biological dad, but rather the man who raised Josh. (For those attempting to follow along at home, Bubba is Josh’s stepdad. Pumpkin’s current boyfriend is Bubba’s nephew.)
Despite this, her rant still managed to get June fired up enough to post a lengthy response on social media, complete with insults, accusations and a whole lot of nonsensical sentences.
“ … I can’t help that you played housewife with my daughter, but all along you was playing in her face,” June wrote, while tagging Shyann in her post.
June went on to accuse Shyann of “using Jessica for financial gain” and of not making an effort to get to know Jessica’s family– both of which she has stated in the past.
June also called out Shyann for wrongfully accusing Jessica of cheating on her, insisting that Jessica and her current girlfriend Taylor didn’t start “talking” until after Jessica and Shyann split.
In true June fashion, she didn’t stop the foul-mouthed fighting words there, as she later continued to unload on her former daughter-in-law on TikTok Live. In a clip from her extremely loud (and for some reason, incredibly close to the camera) tirade, June confirmed that Jessica did hump Josh’s dad, though she assured fans it wasn’t as bad as Shyann made it seem.

“ … yes, Jessica f**ked Bubba, Josh’s daddy, five-and-a-half years ago,” June said. “They were f**k buddies!”
As she literally yelled into the camera, June and her husband, Justin Stroud, debated over the timeline of Jessica and Bubba’s banging. The couple ultimately agreed that Jessica and Bubba were “f**k buddies” about six years ago. Later in her Live, June explained that Jessica and Bubba were friends and used to hang out at the same pool hall.
“Jessica’s always had a crush on Josh’s daddy,” June said.
(Now there’s a sentence The Ashley never thought she’d have to type.)
Pumpkin then hopped on to confirm that Jessica and Bubba were humping, and that she— and other family members— thought the whole situation “was crazy.”
June also assured fans that Jessica is no longer “f**king [Josh’s] daddy,” and that Bubba is now married. She then slammed Shyann for bringing up Jessica’s past partners.
“Like, why would Shyann even think about that?” June shouted asked. “This was long before [Jessica] met Shyann, long before she met Shyann.”
At the end of one of the clips from her Live, June accused Shyann of having sex with “five or six people” while she and Jessica were still together.
“Men and women!” June added.
June also alleged that Shyann has continued to pursue Josh, and that Josh– who is currently in a relationship of his own– has pursued Shyann as well.
“She f**ked Josh and is continuing to try to f**k Josh, and Josh is still trying to f**k Shyann,” June claimed, adding that this alleged pursuing has happened “recently” and on multiple occasions.
As the Live went on, June spoke about her daughter’s past with Bubba once again, claiming that Jessica and Bubba mutually called off their coital companionship, and eventually, Jessica met Shyann.
“Jessica and Josh’s daddy were only friends with benefits, f**ked a couple times, and decided that that wasn’t what they wanted to do, and Jessica moved on with life,” she said. “A year later, she met Shyann. Josh’s daddy was not with anybody. Josh’s daddy was a gigolo, everybody knows that!”
June continued downplaying Jessica’s past situationship with Bubba, telling fans that Jessica “f**king Josh’s daddy ain’t s**t.” She did, however, admit that she will never be okay with the fact that Jessica (and Shyann) had sex with Josh.
At this time, Jessica has not commented on the since-confirmed rumor about her past with Josh’s dad. Bubba— who is likely hiding his head in shame after this– has also remained silent.

I feel gross just reading this. Not only do these people do this stuff, they blast it all over the place. I’d say they were trolling us and just trying to boost ratings for the show, but they’re not smart enough for that.
Who would have thought Alana would become the least trashy of the bunch. She needs to keep her butt in Colorado and away from her train wreck of a family.

It’s a good sign they only have a limited choice in their kind of people in their town? A lot of people probably don’t want to come near this family. Hence the suspicion an ex wife was only there for the money. Mother knows best that her kids have issues finding love due to her and some of her kids. They must be avoided like the plague by a lot of people and experience people’s ridicule or dissaproval every week.
