Former ‘Counting On’ Star Derick Dillard Says He Wants to Write a Tell-All Book About the Duggars: “That’s the Plan”

Raise your hand if you’re about to go all Regina George and write a Burn Book…only  about your in-laws…

Former Counting On star Derick Dillard might be taking his gripes about the Duggar Family from social media to a bookstore near you.

Derick, the husband of Jill Duggar, has seemingly been at odds with his father-in-law Jim Bob Duggar for a while. He recently accused Jim-Bob of withholding TV money from the Duggar kids, and even went as far as to hint that he may take legal action against TLC for some of what he says went down.

After one of his Twitter followers suggested this week that Derick consider writing a book to air some of his Duggar Family grievances, Derick revealed he’s planning to do just that!

“That’s the plan, but it will take longer to write because I do most of the outlining/writing on breaks from school,” Derick, who’s studying to become a lawyer, said.

If Derick does decide to take on the literary world, he won’t be the first in the Duggar family to do so, as his wife Jill teamed up with her sisters Jana, Jessa and Jinger to write a book of their own, Growing Up Duggar: It’s All About Relationships, which hit bookshelves in March 2014. (However, it was far from a tell-all book.)

Derick has been very vocal about his distaste for Jim Bob’s actions (including, according to Derick, keeping all of the TLC profits for himself, forcing his adult children to “volunteer” to be on ‘Counting On,’ and more.) He even seemed to be threatening TLC in a series of tweets last month, warning the network that some type of legal “storm” was coming.

(Derick first made the accusation against Jim Bob in 2018 and it came up yet again two months ago during another one of his Tweet-sprees.)

Jill and Derick and their kids have been noticeably absent from the Duggar Family’s festivities lately. Most recently, they missed Thanksgiving dinner at the Duggar Compound, choosing instead to celebrate a “friendsgiving” at their home, without any Duggars present.

“Derick, don’t forget the family motto: SHHHH!”

Of course, given the recent controversies surrounding members of the Duggar family —  a Homeland Security raid and a lawsuit for fraud, to name a couple — if Derick does end up writing a tell-all, he’ll likely have plenty of juicy details to share with readers.

Derick has not revealed any further details of his potential tell-all book, and Jill has remained silent on the friction between her husband and her father.

The Ashley’s face when she hears about the possibility of a Duggar tell-all book….

  1. Wouldn’t this be Karma for Ya’ (by Ya’ I mean Ole Poppa Duggar) though! I actually am intrigued by the Duggar family, but to raise your daughters in this day and age to be submissive to your husbands. Poor Jill must be caught between a rock, loyalty to her family, and a hard place, loyalty to her Daddy hand-picked husband.

  2. Where is this fool attending law school? Also if he were smart he’d mend his relationship with Jim Bob gather current dirt and write the book in secret.

    1. At University of Arkansas School of Law. He went to Oklahoma State University before they married. Acc to Jill he wants to practice some kind of public interest law (voice for the voiceless) which probably is fighting against legal abortion.

    1. Don’t give this little bigot your hard earned money. Do what I do when I want to read something but don’t want to make the author rich…ask your local library to stock it… preferably in ebook format to avoid the embarrassment of checking it out. Libraries either have books donated or tend to pay wholesale so Douchebag won’t get as much money as if you bought it at retail price. Plus, no multiple sales for him. Just one or a few depending how many copies your library stocks. Luckily, I don’t think I’ll evenemma have to request it be stocked. I live in Memphis in the Bible Belt. My library stocks all new Duggar books for the local fundies.

  3. Derrick continues his eternal plan to not actually work for a living while good old Jill sits by and watches her husband drag her entire family down with no apparent opinion on the matter. He is after all the husband and if Ms.Michelle has done anything its to teach her girls to (literally) roll over and take it. Jim Bob hand selected him for his daughter so he has no one to blame but himself. Usually I disregard these tell all books but I have to admit I would find it highly entertaining to get some inside scoop on the cult that is this family.

  4. How is it if they only volunteered on the show that they could afford to trace to South America without income? Own their home without income?
Imma say if the gravy chain has been removed, that there’s a lot more to this story! None of Jill’s other married siblings seem to have issue!

You want to be married with children, then get a J O B!

    1. I don’t think this guy works and most certainly Jill doesn’t outside the home. How is he funding law school plus living expenses? Jim Bob? I think Derrick is upset the gravy train isn’t supplying as much gravy as he wants and plans to make a quick buck at the expense of his in laws.

  5. I would be surprised to see a book. Honestly, I imagine part of the “Duggar courting/marriage package” would include an NDA. 🤷‍♀️
