‘Mama June: From Not to Hot’ Star Geno Doak Sentenced to 16 Months in Jail for Crack Cocaine Charges; June Shannon Hints That They’ve Split

“This is the first time I’ve been clean— both drug-free and dirt-free— in years!”

It’s been a rough month for Geno Doak.

The boyfriend of Mama June Shannon was sentenced to 16 months in the slammer on Wednesday for the felony drug possession charge he received stemming from his and June’s March 2019 arrests at an Alabama gas station. Both were found to be in possession of drugs and paraphernalia, and Geno was slapped with an additional charge of domestic violence/harassment, after getting into a physical fight with June while at the gas station.

Not only has Geno been sentenced to jail time (while June skated by with just a sentence of probation and community service), but it appears that he and June have also gone their separate ways after several years together.

The pair— who have appeared on June’s WEtv reality show Mama June: From Not to Hotare both sober now, but have admitted to spending nearly $1 million on drugs during their addiction.

The Sun broke the news that Geno  was admitted into the Alabama prison system on July 29, and was given a release date of November 28, 2022.  According to TMZ, Geno is not required to actually be behind bars during those 16 months, thanks to a plea deal he took. His sentence will be served through Macon County, Alabama’s Community Corrections Program.

“If I’m bein’ honest, I don’t understand none of it, but if I don’t have to do that ‘3 Hots and a Cot’ life, I’m happier than a pig in mud!”

“We’re told that while Geno is registered as an inmate, he will not be physically behind bars, but has a set of rules to follow. If he messes up, he’ll be locked up,” TMZ reports.

After Geno completes his time in-jail-but-not-actually-in-jail, he will need to complete two years of probation, as well as a substance abuse evaluation/treatment course.

June is also required to remain clean as part of her probation. Both claim to now have 20 months sober. Provisions of June’s agreement also include random drug screenings and random searches of her car, home and possessions. She is also not allowed to use alcohol or drugs, or visit places where either are used or sold, such as restaurants or bars. She must also remain employed and attend counseling.

If June complies with the provisions, all charges against her will be dismissed. If she is unable to comply, her case will go to trial.

“There will be no plantin’ in my lady garden no more, Geno!’

Freedom may not be the only thing Geno’s lost recently. During a recent Live session on her TikTok account, Mama June told fans that she didn’t want to discuss Geno because she didn’t “give a f**k” what he’s been up to and that she is working on herself now. Three days ago, she posted a video in which she told her followers, “Single life ain’t so bad!”

Geno may be a registered inmate of the Alabama corrections system, but that hasn’t stopped him from posting online. Earlier this week, he posted a photo from Jensen Beach, Florida, telling his followers he’s “enjoying the sunset.”

  1. She’s TOXIC! I feel for him honestly he was the one trying to be better she’s the one who dates child molesters ect..

  2. The one thing I used to give June credit for was that she couponed, lived frugally, and said all of the tv/entertainment money was put into savings for the kids. She blew through it all on drugs. She robbed her children and hasn’t made any attempts to pay them back. She deserves Geno. They are both trash.

  3. She can’t go to restaurants that serve alcohol? I guess that means she can’t go to a grocery store either since they sell beer and wine (at least in Florida)? That’s tough. Not that she doesn’t deserve her punishment, but jeez. How do you get your groceries?

      1. Just curious since it said “either used or sold.” Seems overly strict – I can understand a bar, but even a restaurant that serves it is sometimes hard to avoid. I live in Florida and at least where I am, even fast casual places often sell beer and wine.

  4. “Falling in love is like holding a candle. Initially it lightens up the world around you. Then it starts melting and hurt you. Finally it goes off and everything is darker than ever and all you are left with is the.. BURN!”

  5. I sort of feel bad for him in a way. June should have gotten some time if he did. Of the two of them he was the only one who seemed to acknowledge his wrongdoings and how his actions affected other people. She acted like a 12 year old who thought it was cool to get caught sneaking out.

Also her whole “I’m mama June. I’m going to go to celebrity jail with chefs, etc.” just proved she learned nothing and didn’t give a crap. To me that makes her more of a menace to society than him because at least he understood he did something bad that effected others and had repercussions. She’s more likely to relapse I think because she still doesn’t see that she did anything wrong.

  6. It’s probably a condition of his sentence that he not spend time with other felons. MJ was also charged with a felony, so legally they may not be able to be together anymore.

    1. Like what in the actual hell? I thought I’d heard of everything, but a virtual jail sentence, unbelievable!!
