‘Teen Mom’ News Pile: Amber Portwood Calls ‘Teen Mom’ Cast “A Joke”; Kail Lowry Reveals There’s a Show About Her Son Elliott in the Works & More

“I’m just glad that I’m so much more evolved than those losers!”

From trying to get another TV show to trying to get people to believe the ‘Teen Mom’ cast is crazy, it’s been a busy week for the stars/former stars of the Teen Mom franchise! In an effort to bring you up-to-date on the latest Teen Mom: The Next ChapterTeen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 news, The Ashley brings you the Teen Mom News Pile.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…

Kail Lowry Says She’s in Talks to Do a Reality Show About Her 15-Year-Old Son

Kail may be in her “Mom-Ager Era”– if her plans for a new show for her eldest son come to fruition!

During a recent interview on Lala Kent‘s Give Them Lala podcast, Kail revealed that, although her son Isaac— who now goes by his middle name Elliott–“doesn’t want to be associated with ‘Teen Mom,'” he is still open to doing more reality TV. In fact, Kail told Lala that a reality show is currently being formulated for her family.

“Now I’m in works with another production company that would be [doing] a show not necessarily about me. They want it to be about Isaac,” Kail said. “They want it to be told through Isaac’s eyes. So we’ll see how that goes.”

Kail acknowledged that the show may not come to fruition.

Kail, if her show doesn’t end up airing…probably.

“With production and TV, you can be under contract, they can buy a concept, they can buy a pilot. They can do all of this stuff and it never happens,” she said. “So that’s sort of where we’re at.”

As The Ashley previously reported, Elliott officially “came out” as gay on Kail’s Barely Famous podcast last month. He also used the opportunity to reveal that he is now going by his middle name, in part to separate himself now from who he was on ‘Teen Mom 2.’

“I think it would be cool because it would tell his story,” Kail said of Elliott’s potential show. “Some of the babies from ‘Teen Mom’ have been on TV for all 16 years but I think Isaac does have a lot to share, and there are a lot ‘unique’ circumstances in our family because I do have four fathers to my children, and I‘m neighbors with one of them [Elijah], so there’s a lot of stuff going on.”

Later in the podcast, Kail talked about how Elliott wants to distance himself from anything related to ‘Teen Mom.’

Gee I can’t imagine why…it was such a classy show…

“He wants to do things his way so it’s a little uncomfortable when people are [associating him with] ‘Teen Mom,'” she said. “Now, if [we had been on] a different show, I think he would have a different reaction but I think there is a stigma attached to ‘Teen Mom.’

Again, I can’t imagine why…

Elliott is not the only spawn of Kail to have stars in their eyes. In addition to the potential reality show about Elliott, Kail told Lala that her seven-year-old son Lux also wants to be famous.

“He wants to be in movies, and I believe him!” Kail said. “Since we live in Delaware, there’s not a whole lot of anything going on, audition-wise. I’d have to be in LA or New York and I just don’t have the time and resources to do that with sports, and everything else. So, unfortunately, no [he’s not auditioning], but I think he still has a promising future in comedy if nothing else.”

“Send the kid over, I’ll give him some tips on how to be the next Number One Comedy Star Of Our Generation!”

Back in April, Kail revealed that Elliott was interested in becoming an actor

“He wants an agent now and wants to act,” she said in an interview with People. “And so, I love that for him.”

While Elliott literally began appearing on TV at birth, Kail noted that the teen has only dipped his toe into a public-facing life at this point– first by appearing on 16 and Pregnant and ‘Teen Mom 2’ and more recently by entering the “young influencer space.” Kail said she and her sons have conversations about the pros and cons of being a public figure, with the mom-of-seven claiming that she understands her son “not wanting to be recognized publicly, but also loving the community that he’s built online.”

“He has a very big social media presence and he loves theater and drama and that sort of thing,” she said. “I worry about the conflict that he will be presented with if he ever was to get an agent and be in movies because part of it is being publicly recognized, but then you want your privacy.”

Amber Portwood Calls ‘Teen Mom’ Cast “a Joke” on TikTok Live

Amber, when asked who needs to take a social media hiatus…

Amber Portwood’s never-ending TikTok crashout continued this week with the (former?) ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ star firing off a new round of insults at the entire ‘Teen Mom’ cast.

In a clip from her latest TikTok Live stream of consciousness, Amber referred to the cast of ‘Teen Mom’ as “those girls,” before going on to call them “a joke.”

Do go on, Amber…

“ … I’m gonna say this and I’m gonna say it with everything in my heart,” Amber said. “Those girls are a joke. A joke. Right?

“Let them write your stories and be a joke,” she continued. “And if you have anything to say to me, then why don’t you ever come to me and say it instead of just making the little videos?”

As fans know, Amber got into it with ‘Next Chapter’ star Ashley Jones back in May after Ashley called out Amber’s poor parenting following the ‘Next Chapter’ season finale. Amber went on to fire back at Ashley on the social media platform, and weeks later, the two faced off on TikTok Live, where they continued to dole out insults at one another.

“…something we can’t say about Amber and her love of a good sectional.”

Amber seemed to reference her and Ashley’s social media squabble this week on TikTok Live, even going on to imply to her virtual BFF “Mr. Hoodz” that you can’t compare her to the rest of the ‘Teen Mom’ cast.

“I think that every girl on ‘Teen Mom’ made that mistake of having a baby at a young age,” Mr. Hoodz said to Amber, in an attempt to remind the mom of two that she and the other girls from ‘Teen Mom’ do, in fact, have at least one major thing in common.

“That’s the only thing I have I common anymore with these girls,” Amber insisted. “I used to think they were this and that, and all this, that and that, [but] they’re jokes … .”

Briana DeJesus Reveals That Both Her Baby Daddies Luis & Devoin Are Making More of An Effort For Their Kids

“We’ve yet to be taken out by one of Roxy’s pumps, if that tells ya anything…”

Briana DeJesus took to social media this week to give an update on where things currently stand with her baby daddies, Luis Hernandez and Devoin Austin, and what the two men are doing to improve the relationships with their respective daughters.

As fans of ‘Teen Mom’ know, Briana shares seven-year-old Stella with Luis and 13-year-old Nova with Devoin. While Devoin has maintained a more-consistent presence in both Nova and Stella’s lives over the years, Briana confirmed this week that Luis is still involved in Stella’s life, albeit in a small capacity.

In a clip reposted by @teenmomshaderoom__ this week, Briana recorded herself opening a package that Luis sent for Stella’s recent birthday. Briana– who explained that she was planning to wrap the gifts before giving them to Stella– revealed to fans that Luis sent Stella two Billie Eilish perfumes that she had been wanting. After showing the gift to fans, Briana went on to talk about where Luis’s relationship with their daughter is at the moment.

“Who the hell is this Billie guy and why does my kid wanna smell like him?”

“As far as their relationship goes, he hasn’t seen Stella in a few years,” she said. “She’s been in therapy for a little bit, they’ve been working on her talking about her feelings and how she feels about her dad and so on and so forth, and it’s been going really well.”

Briana shared that Luis has been “doing sessions” with Stella’s therapist and that Devoin has been doing the same thing with Nova’s therapist. Despite giving Luis credit for “taking baby steps,” Briana told fans that Stella still didn’t want to have her dad at her birthday this week. (She also admitted in the video that she doesn’t know where Luis is currently living, though she believes he’s in Florida– the same state where she and her kids live.)

“This is the third birthday that she doesn’t want him to come to, which I get, I understand,” Briana said, adding that Stella and Luis have been texting one another as of late, which Briana said was “a plus.”

“…how low the bar is, everyone.”

While Luis’s texting relationship with Stella is “a good start” according to Briana, she admitted that she absolutely wishes their relationship was in a better place. However, Briana did give Luis credit for sending her money for Stella.

“I really do want him to be around and stuff like that, but it’s really up to him to put in that effort and Stella just needs to feel comfortable,” she added.

As for Devoin, though he’s been involved with Nova’s therapy sessions, Briana said he hasn’t seen their daughter in more than six months. (As fans of ‘Teen Mom’ may remember, Devoin moved from Florida to Michigan last year after accepting a job.)

“They do text, they do FaceTime,” she said. “He does send money [and] he’s been doing some sessions with her therapist to work on having a better relationship with Nova, so it’s been pretty positive. Do I wish he came down to see her a bit more? Yes. But this is just what it is for the moment.”

Briana went on to tell fans that over time, she’s learned to accept her children’s fathers for who they are, while still holding them accountable for their shortcomings– or as she put it, “still call out s**t” when she feels like it’s “half-assed.”

“Do I look like the kind of girl who likes things half-assed?!”

“ … I feel like I’ve always done that and that will never change,” Briana said. “But I’ve just learned how to pick and choose my battles now and what’s really important and just focus on me being a mom and doing the best that I can do.”

Later in the video, Briana told fans that both of her baby daddies are employed, with Luis working in aviation and Devoin working in the automotive industry.

“Two very good careers, I’m very proud of them for dealing through all the ‘Teen Mom’ bulls**t and being able to pull themselves out of the dark … ,” she said.

Farrah Abraham Says ‘Teen Mom’ is a “Bubble” Where Cast Members Aren’t Taught “Actual Life Skills”

“Nevertheless, I PER LAW persisted.”

Farrah Abraham is going hard at her former employer (again) for falling short and, in this case, allegedly failing to prepare its cast members for the real world.

During an interview with Z100 on Thursday, the fired MTV star spoke about her time on ‘Teen Mom,’ as well as her belief that the show does nothing to teach its cast members anything other than “trauma drama.”

“When you’re on ‘Teen Mom,’ when you’re in a bubble of a show– I just want everyone to hear this– you are not taught life skills,” Farrah explained. “You are only taught to stay in, like, trauma drama and that doesn’t really pay your bills in real life.”

“Um…did she expect us to teach these girls a home ec course or something? Jesus God Leah!”

Farrah– who seemingly turned down her Farrah Speak word salad setting before this interview– went on to claim that when cast members from ‘Teen Mom’ (and other shows) get back to the real world, they have to do things like care about others, which is often not the case when cameras are running.

“ … it’s not all about you, like [it is] on a protected show and a set,” she added. “ … So yeah, getting into the real world of life outside of television probably hit some people really hard right now.”

Yeah…probably…

Thursday’s interview was the second time that Farrah has aired her grievances about MTV and/or ‘Teen Mom’ public as of late. As The Ashley told you earlier this week, Farrah recently took an opportunity to slam MTV for allegedly failing to provide mental health support to cast members and families, despite revealing that the network had provided this help to her back in 2022.

Farrah spoke about the issue on an episode of former ‘Teen Mom 2’ star Kail Lowry’s Barely Famous podcast, telling Kail that she believes intense trauma therapy is something that should be offered to moms across the ‘Teen Mom’ franchise, as well as to their children, partners and parents.

  1. -Farrah in a Harvard shirt… Yikes. LOL

-“ … I’m gonna say this and I’m gonna say it with everything in my heart,” Amber said. “Those girls are a joke. A joke. Right?
…Yeah Amber. A “joke” you wish you could be WHILE getting paid. For now, you are more than a joke and you aren’t making a damn dime!

  2. So Elliott wants to distance himself from Teen Mom because of the reputation, but Kail thinks that part of Elliot’s draw for a new reality show is her messy life? Isn’t that what he wants to distance himself from?!

  3. Pushing a teenager into a reality tv atomsphere is such a horrible decision. It really highlights that she sees the kids as a monetary asset. And it’s a brutal world in reality tv as those celebrities have to sell/market themselves, it’s not exactly talent based. I just can’t imagine thinking this would be good for any kid’s mental health. SM can be vicious, and I feel like kids these days have it harder. Using filters/AI/photoshopping to achieve an unrealistic beauty standards is getting so normalized. I really hope she is keeping him focused on education also. I know how she makes her money is by exploiting her life but I feel bad for the kids for losing their privacy. They can’t comprehend the full scope yet of growing up on camera or how it will follow them throughout their entire life.

  4. Wow here goes. MTV made no effort to help their Guinea pigs. And they should have. These kids were made D list celebrities and given outrageous sums of money. For the most part they had crappy parents who never taught them life skills before they became reality stars. Rational decisions went out the window when the Teen Mom money started rolling in. Having more babies provided insurance that the paychecks would keep coming. The money was spent as fast as it was “earned.” There will be family and financial disasters when the TM money train stops arriving. If MTV found it acceptable to exploit these kids then the network should have provided support to help their “stars” to navigate this wealth and fame. Of course I’m equally immoral. I can’t wait every week to read the Ashley snark. Congratulations to Chelsea who has managed to keep looking to the future.

    1. Kail has done exceptionally well for herself. Not only is she cohost on multiple podcasts but she owns the company producing them & other podcasts. Kail is doing better than any of the other girls that’s been on that show, financially. Yea Chelsea is doing well but her family had money, and she has a husband that contributes. Chelsea was never doing bad, ever. Kail came from a single alcoholic mother, no father, living with her teenage boyfriends family, and then living on welfare with her child by age 18.. to owning a podcast producing company, cohosting multiple successful podcast shows, buying 2 homes & then having her current home custom built on acres of land, completely financially independent & secure. Coming from nothing, and having 7 kids, 4 baby daddy’s & millions of haters she’s actually doing phenomenal. She used the hate & the people who told her she wasn’t worth shit to prove that she’s at least worth millions of dollars.

    2. Totally agree. I mean how hard would it have been to at least provide some occupational therapy and a wealth management course or advisor?

      1. Because that’s illegal for a corporation to require a contracted employee to work with a financial advisor or recommend a specific one

  5. Farrah, MTVU was a segment, not a university. They were under no obligation to teach you shit, and you wouldn’t have listened or learned anything anyways!

Damn, I wonder why Stella wouldn’t want Luis around? Could it be…the attitude of the coven?!

And JFC Amber. Can we please find a way to cut her cell and wifi service? I’m convinced she’s back on drugs. She’s beyond mania the last few months.

    1. People might not like this opinion, but I’ve always like Devoine. I think he’s really tried to be in his daughter’s life and her sister too. I definitely feel bad that they’ve made it so hard on him. He has issues, but he’s nowhere nears as bad as the other “dads.”

      1. I would agree. They vilified him a lot for not immediately being super involved, which seemed to drive him further away. It wasn’t right for him to do so, but they certainly weren’t helping their cause of bringing him closer to his daughter by being vinegar. I personally never would have moved away from my child, but if he is still an involved and supportive parent, good for him.

  6. I’m gonna start criticizing anything and everything for not teaching life skills. I’m giving my uber driver 1 star because they didn’t even teach me any life skills during my ride to the airport!

I feel like Farrah has seen all the memes/posts about how high school didn’t teach enough practical knowledge, for some reason Farrah thinks that can be applied to Teen Mom

  7. Oh my, there’s a a lot of robots to unpack here. So a former reality television personality wants to monetize her son by encouraging him to become a reality personality too? A bitter former Teen Mom, fast approaching middle age, thinks every other Z list MTV Teen Mom is a joke but she’s not because she sits on her couch and spouts off on TikTok?! And a fired Teen Mom turned “Teen Momtrepneur” thinks MTV and/or it’s parent company should have an employee assistance program for contract employees guaranteeing a lifetime of therapy because they were paid to appear on a reality television program? Good grief, the delusion is palpable.

  8. No to “The Elliot Show”.

No to MTV parenting, counseling, advising or guiding their hired help. That was Deb and Mikehole’s job and they failed sorely.

  9. Kail, not everything needs to be a reality TV show or produce money.
Amber, you are TM’s biggest joke. Shut tf up already and grow up.
Farrah, it’s not a network’s responsibility to teach you life skills. That’s what parents are for.

  10. amber bffr how is anyone supposed to say anything to your face if you can’t even get off your bed and/ or couch to go to a damn reunion? they’re not all cate and maci who have nothing better do and fly out to u on a whim 😂

was not a fan of how briana treated her baby daddy’s in her first tm2 season especially devoin BUT i don’t understand why people are saying she’s bashing devoin when she literally just said the truth and even praised both him and luis for stepping up, some of yall are reaching too much tbh

  11. Why would a child need an agent or go to auditions just because he likes acting? Get him in to the local drama club or something and let him have a normal childhood.

      1. Because the MTV gravy train is running dry. Without another show, who is is going to support her and the other six kids?

          1. She also makes it from every single interview she does for every single article in which she ALWAYS manages to talk about TM, and the kids she says she doesn’t exploit (but most definitely does, as it’s her literal source of income to exploit them) in some fashion. She still makes money off Tm without even being on the show (they all do, she’s not alone in that-they all still make at least some money off it).

The MTV gravy train is drying up, albeit it pretty slowly. At some point all the TM associations will be old news and their (by that I mean the adults’) stories involving TM will no longer be a viable money maker. Not long after that, the kids’ stories will stop being as profitable too. Kail is just trying to drag Elliot’s story out for him for as long as she can, including trying to push for him to have his own show/online presence/whatever (where we all know TM associations will be discussed ad nauseam because she simply can’t stop).

    1. Right. And, let’s start at the bottom bc the y will be sorely disappointed when they find out his talent isn’t as amazing as mommy thinks it is.

  12. Why am I not surprised that Kail we’ll go back on t v in order to exploit her child even more??🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️
