‘Teen Mom’ News Pile: Tyler Baltierra Having His “Carly” Tattoo Removed; Ryan Edwards Moved to Unsupervised Probation & More

“This thing is uglier than Butch’s rattail after a rainstorm!”

From trying to get rid of a bad tattoo, to trying to get rid of your probation, it’s been a busy week for the stars/former stars of the Teen Mom franchise! In an effort to bring you up-to-date on the latest Teen Mom news, The Ashley brings you the Teen Mom News Pile.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…

Tyler Baltierra Says He’s Removing His Giant Tattooed Tribute to His Bio Daughter Carly

“I don’t want some big ol’ heifer of a tattoo on my chest anymore!”

Tyler will soon be saying “so long” to the large tattoo he got in 2009 in honor of his biological daughter, Carly.

During a Live on Friday, Tyler revealed that he’s currently in the process of having Carly’s name, handprint and birthdate removed from his chest. As ‘Teen Mom’ fans will remember, Ty got the inked tribute during an early episode of the show, but on Friday, Tyler was cringing about how bad the tattoo looks.

“First tattoo I ever got,” he said. “Oh, God, guys, why don’t they tell you? Why don’t they ever tell you that your first tattoo you’re just gonna [end up hating]?”

It’s the weird Old English writing for me…

Tyler and his wife Catelynn were cut off from contacting Carly last year by Carly’s parents Brandon and Teresa Davis and that has caused a lot of problems between the families. However, that is not the reason Tyler is having his “Carly” tattoo removed.

“I’m getting that removed…I have [the paper with] Carly’s handprint [on it] in my hope chest, so I’m going to get [this tattoo] removed and then get just her name and her handprint on my arm, my family arm with all my other kids,” he said.

Tyler’s ‘Carly’ tattoo is bad, but Amber still takes the prize for worst ‘Teen Mom’ kid-related tattoo ever…

Ryan Edwards Downgraded to Unsupervised Probation But Still Owes Thousands in Court Fines for 2023 Arrests

“They ain’t watchin’ me anymore…and stuff.”

Ryan has come a long way since 2023– when he was being arrested on the regular and nearly died from a drug overdose. While the ‘Teen Mom’ dad is doing much better these days, he’s still dealing with the legal— and financial— repercussions from his druggin’ days.

As The Ashley reported at the time, Ryan was in and out of jail for most of 2023 and some of 2024, getting charged with drug-related crimes, as well as harassment of his then-wife Mackenzie. After spending some time in the clink, Ryan was sentenced to supervised probation in 2024 by Judge Gary Starnes (who was very, very lenient with Ryan despite his serious crimes).

At Ryan’s latest court check-in last week, Judge Starnes ordered that Ryan be removed from the supervised probation he had been on and downgraded to unsupervised probation for the 11-month, 29-day sentence he had originally ordered.

“We’ll watch him for ya, Judge!”

Although his probation has been downgraded, Ryan is still on the hook for thousands in court fees, which, according to court records pulled by The Ashley, he still owes. According to the court records, Ryan still owes $7,078 in court fees for his harassment case, as well as $1,151 for his 2023 DUI case.

In other “‘Teen Mom’ baby daddy probation news,’ Ashley Jones‘ baby daddy Bar Smith reported this week that he is no longer on probation. On Instagram Stories on Thursday Bar joked (?) that, now that his probation is over, he can throw hands once again.

“Probation officially over. Who wanna fight!?” he wrote.

“Time to bust out the Shot Loots tee again!”

Mackenzie Douthit’s Husband Khesanio Hall Raises Over $10,000 for His Jamaican Hometown Following Hurricane

Coach Khes, the MVP.

Khesanio Hall, husband of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ star Mackenzie McKee, has teamed up with the St. Petersburg, Florida, soccer club he coaches for to raise funds for his hometown in Jamaica following the devastation of Hurricane Melissa.

Last week, Khesanio shared a message to the St. Pete Raiders’ official Instagram page, informing supporters of the damage that was caused last month by the Category 5 hurricane, as well as how they can lend a hand to help those in need.

“A lot of people have lost a lot of stuff, especially my hometown [of] Burnt Ground, Saint Elizabeth,” Khesanio explained. “So, St. Pete Raiders and myself are trying to put together this effort where we can somewhat help these people recover– a little bit, at least, though it’s a long, long road to recovery.”

While Khesanio and Mackenzie previously revealed that Khesanio’s family was safe and had survived the storm, Khesanio noted last week that there are many residents who lost all of their belongings, as well as those whose homes were left severely damaged by the storm. As a result, he asked that people “help in whatever way you can,” either by donating to the St. Pete Raiders’ GoFundMe, or by sharing the fundraiser on social media.

The GoFundMe description refers to Jamaica as “a place that shaped [Coach Khesanio], strengthened him, and helped build the leader he is today.”

“Homes are gone, families have been displaced, and everyday life has been turned upside down,” the GoFundMe continues. “Burnt Ground is a small, humble, and close-knit community– the type of place filled with love, support, and values that Coach Khes brings to our club every day. Many of the people who guided him and lifted him throughout his life are now facing unimaginable hardship and uncertainty.”

As of press time, the GoFundMe had raised $10,866 of its $12,000 goal. According to the fundraiser, the money raised will be used to rebuild and repair damaged homes, as well as support those who have been displaced and “lost everything.”

As The Ashley previously told you, in the days after Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica, both Mackenzie and Khesanio began posting tributes to Jamaica, while encouraging people to “look for ways to help.” Mackenzie shared that Jamaica’s airports will likely be shuttered for a while, making it extremely difficult for anyone to travel into or out of Jamaica at this time. Khesanio also told fans that the hurricane was “not like a normal [storm], this was like intense. Like, brutally intense.”

Briana DeJesus Shares Update on Co-Parenting Relationship with Luis Hernandez: “This Was A Waste Of My Time”

“DJ Deadbeat Daddy strikes again, y’all.”

Briana DeJesus remains frustrated amid her continued efforts to facilitate co-parenting relationships with her daughters’ fathers, Devoin Austin and Luis Hernandez.

The ‘Teen Mom’ recently took to social media to share an update on her struggles with the duo of deadbeat daddies.

Briana admitted that she gets “so angry” at Luis and Devoin for their parental shortcomings, as she wishes that Nova and Stella had “reliable, committed fathers” in their lives.

“Good one, Bri….oh…wait, you’re serious?”

“They don’t and it’s so hard,” she said. “I not only created one broken home, I created two and I have so much guilt for that, ‘cause I should’ve known better.”

(As fans of ‘Teen Mom’ may remember, Briana underwent a tubal ligation last season on ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ in order to prevent herself from getting pregnant again by yet another deadbeat.)

The rant was brought on by Luis, the sparsely involved father of her youngest daughter Stella, reaching out to Bri and telling her he wanted to talk and give Stella a gift. Briana posted on social media right before her meet-up with Luis, and then gave fans an update after it was over. Briana– who, did acknowledge that Luis had brought a gift for Stella– revealed that the meetup with her ex had not gone the way she hoped.

“I’m DJing an event at Denny’s later tonight if you want to show up. They’re paying me in mozzarella sticks!”

“I almost feel like this was a waste of my time,” she said. “Well, not really, I guess, because I think I will always try for my kids and I think you guys know that … but I do feel like [Luis] and I just, we can’t communicate. Like, it was a waste of my time.

“It’s always the same story, ‘Sorry, I wanna do better; I wanna try harder; I’m gonna try; baby steps; thank you for taking care of Stella,’” Briana recalled. “There was nothing in that conversation … nothing that he said to me that I didn’t already hear.”

As fans of ‘Teen Mom’ know, Briana has made many attempts over the years to get Luis and Devoin– the father of her teenage daughter Nova– to be more involved in their daughters’ lives. While Briana has arguably struggled more to co-parent with Luis than with Devoin, she revealed in August that Luis “is not in the picture,” nor is Devoin, due to him moving from Florida to Michigan last year after accepting a job. (Luis appears to still live in Florida, where Briana and her daughters also reside.)

Though neither Luis nor Devoin seem to be actively involved in their daughters’ lives, Briana shared earlier this year that she does receive some financial support from both men, though it isn’t “a set thing” and she continues to be the only parent taking care of her girls.

Briana also noted that she thinks it’s “a blessing” that Luis is “actively involved in his new baby’s life”; however, Luis has expressed that he wants Stella to have a relationship with her half-sibling, but Briana doesn’t believe it’s up to her to make that happen. Still, the mother of two assured fans that she will “never keep Luis or Devoin away from their children.”

  1. The best thing Briana and Janelle ever did was to get their tubes tied.

Mack really hit the jackpot with her husband and the kids seem to really love him. I think he did more parenting in this time than Josh did for their whole life. Hope they raise enough and then more. Those people need help.

  2. If Tyler is complaining about how bad the tattoo looks now after so many years, imagine how scary Sophia’s stomach bats are going to become.

  3. IDK about that Amber tattoo, just nooooooooo. For future reference do not tattoo a child face that close to your underwear. Just no.

I hope Tyler is getting some therapy to help him move on and to properly contextualize Carly’s place in his life , and allowing him to grieve whatever unrealistic scenarios they had with her and move forward focusing on the children he has now- and who need him as a present father.

  4. Khesanio is clearly a significantly better human than Josh and I am so glad that the McKee kids have him in their lives.

Rhine will always benefit from the good ol’ boys system in his town and will probably never face consequences for not paying his fines.

  5. It seems like learning that Carly herself doesn’t want contact with them, really humbled Tyler and Cate. Also, I haven’t seen Briana in forever, did she have work done? She looks like a different person to me.

  6. Sure Jan- I mean Tyler! Your resentment toward her parents and the situation you put yourself in is definitely not the reason for removing that tattoo. No way!

  7. i don’t think tyler’s age was an issue when he got the carly tattoo, his other tattoos are also really stupid anyways

briana may be annoying but yall do the most to act like she never calls out luis and lets him slide like devoin isn’t grown and should be more present in his child’s life

    1. I mean, Luis was literally a one-night stand. They banged on the toilet of a club. I sure do wonder why he never stuck around. He is prob dating this new girl he has a kid with.
