Jenelle Evans is seemingly denying that her ex-husband (and current live-in “helper”) David Eason choked her teenage son Jace back in 2023, despite David currently having pending criminal felony charges for assault (via strangulation) and child abuse. Those charges stem from the 2023 incident that occurred when Jace was 14.
As ‘Teen Mom’ fans know, Jenelle and David reconciled in January. Earlier this week, the mom of three admitted on social media that her unemployed ex is now shacking up with her in Florida, insisting to fans that he’s there “helping” her out.
On Thursday, Jenelle– who has an active restraining order out on David– took to Facebook to publicly applaud herself and her ex for their ability to play nice and coparent, writing, “I think people underestimate how much a judge appreciates two parents getting along.”
In response, someone in the comments section noted that “judges also appreciate grown adults not choking children,” obviously a nod to David’s assault by strangulation felony charge.
“Weird… that never happened,” Jenelle replied.
David’s jury trial for the charges he’s currently facing has been set for August. It should also be noted that David was first “only” charged with child abuse for the incident. However, months later the felony strangulation assault charge was added after the court allegedly obtained more evidence. The case was also bumped up into Superior Court at that time.
When another person in the comments pointed out to Jenelle that “there’s a difference between parents getting along and parents sharing a bed,” the failed podcaster/makeup maufacturer/reality star fired back with, “there’s also a difference between minding your own business.”
Jenelle has always maintained that David is innocent of the crimes he’s been charged with. (Even after they split, Jenelle brought up David’s charges during her request for a protective order against him but did not outright claim he was guilty.)
Back in 2023, the fired ‘Teen Mom 2′ star claimed her then-husband was an innocent man and that the problem was actually Jace.
Jenelle told DailyMail at the time that the charge against her swamp-dwelling spouse didn’t “have anything to do with” David and that police were “looking into the wrong person right now.”
In follow-up comments made at that time, Jenelle insinuated that David was charged due to something related to Jace’s “mental health” instead of David’s actions.
(David and Jenelle have always maintained that David did not assault Jace and that it was Jace, her mom Barbara and/or the cops who have been lying and leaking stories to launch a “smearing campaign” against David.)
“There is a vile situation going on and it’s not pertaining my husband,” she continued in the 2023 interview. “This story is one-sided and no interviews were conducted asking what happened when the ‘incident’ occurred.”
As The Ashley previously stated, Jace was hospitalized after the “incident” and then moved to a facility for a few weeks. He was interviewed by CPS and in court in October 2023.
Although David’s jury trial is set for August, there will be at least one administrative hearing held before the trial begins.

Poor Jace. What shitty luck he has to have this thing as his so called mother. Chooses dick over her own child. If a man killed my dog, ate the head off of a goat and taunted my children with it and strangled my child he wouldn’t be here anymore. Period. I damn sure wouldn’t bring him into my home, in my bed around my children. But I’m not Jenelle. Thank God.
