A month after Leon Brown– the only child of former spouses Kody and Meri Brown– revealed on social media that they are ready to open up about their experience growing up in a “polygamist cult” and being raised on TV, the former Sister Wives star is setting some firm boundaries with fans.
“I’m not a celebrity, I’m a human being,” Leon said in a video posted to TikTok on Thursday. “And I have had people come up to me in public in the past and I don’t like it. I’m not out in public to be people’s entertainment or to be consumed by people, I’m out in public to live my life.
“So if you see me out, don’t come say hi,” they continued. “If you have something to say, you can send me a message, maybe I’ll see it. I’m pretty private and I will only share what I wanna share and I don’t like talking to strangers in public that know me and I don’t know them.”
As fans of ’Sister Wives’ know, Leon– who came out as transgender and queer in 2022 and uses they/them pronouns– has, like many of the OG Brown kids, (mostly) steered clear of their family’s TLC series in recent years, despite maintaining a close relationship with many of their siblings, as well as other members of the Brown Family.
While it was widely reported (and never refuted) back in 2023 that Kody was very against Leon’s transition, Meri has maintained a good relationship with Leon, though she told fans in 2024 that she doesn’t speak about Leon very often because they don’t want to be “super public.”

Despite their past wishes to stay out of the public, Leon told fans last month on TikTok that they felt it was finally time for them to talk about their experience growing up in “a polygamist cult” and being “raised on TV,” claiming that it felt “increasingly inauthentic” to not share their story in their own words.
On Thursday, Leon referred back to the TikTok they posted in May, telling fans that before they open up publicly, they “wanna set some boundaries” and clarify what they will and will not be sharing, as well as when they’re plan to do so.
“ … To start, I have gotten some comments– sort of pushy comments– being like, ‘When are you gonna post this?’ I just wanna make it clear, no one is entitled to my story, no one is entitled to my time,” Leon stated. “Anything I share is something I want to share. I’m doing this on my own timeline. I’m doing this for myself to share my own story. So, if you wanna hear it, be patient.”
Leon went on to tell followers that when they do begin telling their story, they won’t be talking about any their siblings, except for their brother Garrison Brown– son of Kody and ex-wife Janelle Brown– who died in March 2024 by suicide.
“I will be sharing about me and my story and my experiences exclusively,” they said. “One minor caveat to that is that my brother Garrison’s death was really impactful to me and I will talk about how his death has impacted me, [but] I will not talk about him at all.”
Leon’s TikTok PSA concluded with a pointed message aimed at those on social media who have made them the subject of their content.
“ … the last thing I’ll say is this, I think it’s weird as f**k when people make content about other people,” they said. “Get more creative.”
While Leon’s TikTok was met with many comments supporting their request for privacy, a number of fans also found their message off-putting or contradictory.
“I always like you on the show. But I didn’t know you were so much better than everyone else,” one person commented on Leon’s video. “Good luck with that!”
“Hi everyone, I want to share my story but never look at me or talk to me if you see me,” another wrote.
“I’m here going public with my life but don’t talk to me in public cause I am private,” read another comment.
While Leon insisted in their TikTok that they’re not a celebrity, it’s worth noting that they– along with their spouse Audrey Kriss, who is also transgender– created the “With Love, Audj & Leon” monthly mail club in 2025, where subscribers can receive “mail (with a stamp and everything), a letter, art piece, sticker and poem” from the couple for $11 a month or $30 for three months.
Leon also launched their own Patreon recently, offering monthly breathwork/meditation memberships beginning at $17.

How about just don’t talk about anything? Contrary to your ego filled delusions, most of us have no desire to “ be patient” to hear your story. We aren’t interested…..especially with your angry demand that people don’t approach you. I’ll gladly ignore “They Think Their Shit Don’t Stink”….buh bye.
If you were a private person, you wouldn’t have public social media accounts.
