Kenleigh Heatwole– the latest inductee of the least-desirable club known as “The Former Soulmates of David Eason”– took to X this week to reveal some truths about their crash-and-burn relationship, which ended in September after she kicked David to the curb (aka his broken-down boaterhome).
Kenleigh answered fans’ Frequently Asked Question’s about her former live-in lover. Here, The Ashley breaks down the most-interesting things she revealed, including what the fired Teen Mom 2 dad told her about the day he shot Jenelle Evans‘ dog Nugget several years ago, how he explained away not seeing his children and more!
On David shooting Jenelle’s dog Nugget:
The day David shot and killed Jenelle’s dog Nugget, in 2019 will live on in ‘Teen Mom’ fandom infamy. The incident played a large part in getting Jenelle fired from the show in 2019 and the couple kept changing their story to explain away what happened. (They finally stuck to the story that their daughter Ensley— who was a toddler then— was nipped by Nugget, which prompted David to shoot him.)
According to Kenleigh, David explained the incident very differently to her.
“It was my understanding that D[avid] felt very guilty about what he did,” she wrote. “That’s how he made it seem… It hurts that people think I condone or agree w/ what happened.”
Earlier this week, Kenleigh gave her thoughts on the incident.
“I think the dynamic in that household was very chaotic,” she wrote of Jenelle and David’s lil bit of swampy hell, The Land.
“Some people shouldn’t own animals if you can dedicate time to training them or teaching kids how to be around them,” she continued. “I think that played a large role in what happened. But again – I wasn’t there…I was never blaming a child for what happened. I’m literally blaming the parents who should’ve never had a pack of dogs or even 1 dog in the first place. No I do not condone shooting a dog. But also there wouldn’t have been a reason for chaos in the first place.”
On David not seeing his daughter Ensley:
As The Ashley has previously reported, David has not seen Ensley— the daughter he shares with Jenelle— since February 2024. Jenelle and the kids moved to Las Vegas shortly after her split from David, and the aspiring swamp rapper has not seen Ensley since then. The judge in their divorce/custody case ordered that David take a psychological evaluation before he is allowed to arrange visits with Ensley, but he has refused to do so.
Kenleigh offered her thoughts on David refusing to do something that would enable him to see Ensley.
“My first major red flag in person was not getting a psych evaluation to see her & I made it very known on multiple occasions to him, if he did not do that, I’d look at him very differently and it would be grounds for a breakup,” she wrote.
Back when she was still dating David, Kenleigh wrote online that the psychological evaluations were expensive. On Friday, she said that she wouldn’t pay for him to take it.
“I refused to foot the bill for anything that had nothing to do with my choices lol,” she wrote.
On why David didn’t try to see his son:
As longtime Eason gawkers know, David has a son, Kaden, that he is not allowed to see. Back in 2018, David was (briefly) allowed to have visits with Kaden (who he had not been allowed to see due to him committing domestic violence against Kaden’s mom Olivia Leedham when she was pregnant). David was able to bring Kaden to The Land to hang out with the other Eason/Evans kids. However, Jenelle’s October 2018 “collarbone” 911 call changed all of that.
After Jenelle accused David of assaulting her while four children (one of whom, Olivia claimed was Kaden) were sleeping in the home, Olivia raised funds to take David back to court and regained full custody of the boy. David has allegedly not seen Kaden since.
According to Kenleigh, David blamed Olivia for him not having a relationship with Kaden.
“[He told me] that Olivia was the problem and was keeping him from him,” Kenleigh wrote on X. “This is what he said and I’m not signing off on what he said just FYI. He did try to call her to talk to him and she never answered. But I began to realize that he made it seem like everyone else was the problem.”
On why she dated David despite his bad reputation & past history:
Kenleigh revealed that she initially thought she could change the broken-boat-dwelling rake enthusiast for the better, citing David’s “expert level manipulation” and her “big heart” as the reasons she managed to get duped by the perpetual freeloader.
When asked how David managed to get her under his smell spell, Kenleigh said it was a mix of “love bombing and manipulation,” later claiming that David “has everyone in his circle manipulated.”
On David causing her to lose her job:
Kenleigh revealed that she lost the job she had when she first began to date David. During the Q&A, she expounded on the situation, while confirming that her involvement with David was to blame.
“Yes I lost my office manager position because the owner didn’t want ‘TMZ showing up to work,’” she explained, adding that she has since found a new job with an employer who “only cares about my work performance instead of my outside life.”
This is not the only time that Kenleigh’s work was affected by her dating David. In November 2024— early on in her relationship with David— Kenleigh found her dog-sitting business under attack, due to someone exposing online that David was living in the home where Kenleigh would be caring for other people’s dogs.
David has not yet responded to Kenleigh’s tea-spilling spree.

She knowingly started a relationship with a man whom every ex accused of DV, a man who has multiple restraining orders and isn’t allowed around his minor children. A man that is accused of strangling his stepson and beating up another stepson. A man that shot a dog and killed his daughter’s chicks for fun. A man that has a dozen mugshots.
There’s not enough love bombing to make an intelligent woman forget all of that. She was complicit.
I don’t think I could lower my standards that much just for a bit of sm interaction. And on x, not even one of the good “influencer” ones. Girl it wasn’t worth it

She knows how Google works, she could have used it and learn Olivia doesn’t have to pick up the phone.
Olivia tried to let him have a relationship with his son, even after he lost custody. He could have access to his son and even supervised visits when he just made the effort to call his son on the court appointment times. He believed he didn’t have to.
So now Olivia and his son don’t have to do anything. He screwed up every chance he got. Same with Ensley.
Exactly! He purposely defied court orders and spewed his “father’s rights” BS every. single. time.
There’s a really fine line here that she’s straddling. It’s possible to be a victim of DV & be blinded by manipulation & love bombing (as she says) to the point of defending the indefensible. It’s also possible that after the relationship ends & you see things more clearly you need to take responsibility for your actions during it. Yes everyone warned her about him. She chose not to listen for whatever reason. It seems here that she’s minimizing her role & trying to pass everything off to David as his fault. Own up to your mistakes & your role in things & move on.

If a GROWN woman dates a man like David and it brings backlash to her life, resulting in the loss of a job, that is not David’s fault. She was a grown woman making a decision that had consequences. I thought she seemed like a decent person this whole time but now I can actually see why she spent the last two years dating David and bickering with Jenelle. Three peas in a pod.
There is nothing she can say to make me believe her. You keep claiming you don’t support all his past transgressions but you still stayed in that relationship despite being against them all. Whats really messed up is that she knew his violent past with both humans & animals yet she still chose to be with him. You can only manipulate someone who doesn’t know the truth but honey you knew the truth.
Right. I’m very sympathetic to women/men who end up being victims of trauma bonds. I had this with my stepdad. But this is not the case. She’s a fool and I have zero sympathy.

Ok so now it all makes sense. She was always clout chasing. That’s why she took him in, that’s why she defended him and publicly fought over him, then ended it so suddenly on a whim, and now she’s “another ex on the books of crazy swamp dwelling David.” Can we please please not reward her for this. I get that he is manipulative, but she knew about his reputation and behaviors beforehand. As soon as I found out he shot a dog and committed domestic violence (let alone to a pregnant woman) I would get a ****ing clue and get out of that relationship. I do not see how she could possibly be called a victim. She not only took in a homeless man with all his baggage, but she told us all many times that he treated her well. She is no victim. Many relationships end ugly and things get messy. That’s just life.

Don’t forget that he also brutally beat little Kaiser from the time he started to walk, and later abused Jace. Funny how she doesn’t ever mention that. In fact, a lot of people seem to forget about that.
I remember him also posting a VERY disturbing photo of a toddler Kaiser reaching into his nappies and he made a joke about that…am I misremembering? I think it was sth like that and he hit him because he reminded him so much of Nathan. (who is POS on his own)
You are right. And then there was the banana 🍌 one. That Jenelle filmed and posted. While Maryssa and Jace was looking very uncomfortable watching this occur.
None of this is tea, though; it’s just Kenleigh trying to keep her name out there and explain away her defense of David, which still continues to this day whenever she “battles” Jenelle online. Hopefully she will move on and live her best life away from these losers.
