MTV Releases First Look at ‘The Hills: New Beginnings’ Season 2, Featuring the Return of Kristin Cavallari

Me, fully embracing a second season of this hot mess show…

After much delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Hills: New Beginnings is finally returning next month for a second season.

MTV released a first look at Season 2 this week, which opened with Brody Jenner channeling his inner-Justin Bobby Brescia, telling viewers “moving on, it’s all about the future.” Later in the clip, Brody and his (kinda?) ex-wife Kaitlynn Carter discuss their very public split that happened back in August 2019.

“There’s been so much speculation about like, why we broke up,” Kaitlynn says to Brody in the clip, as if their breakup is still fresh.

“You’re joking, right?”

While things with Kaitlynn are certainly dunzo, Audrina Patridge reveals to Whitney Port that she and Brody kissed. Audrina tells Whitney “it’s hard being a single mom dating,” which is pretty evident by her choice to revisit anything romantic with Brody, as well as her night on the town with Sean Stewart.

They haven’t even sat down, yet somehow I’m already completely uninterested in this date/couple.

While Audrina navigates the dating scene, Brandon Thomas Lee takes things to the next level in his own relationship, and Jason Wahler continues to navigate a life of sobriety, despite some people (Spencer Pratt) doubting his commitment.

“Oh good … we’re still talking about this.”

Speaking of Spencer, in between promoting crystals and hanging out with hummingbirds, he and wife Heidi Montag discuss the possibility of having a second child – something Spencer isn’t totally on board with, claiming Heidi’s tendency to “be so stressed out every day” could be dangerous for a baby.

Wait, isn’t that what all those crystals are for?

Also talking babies this season is Justin Bobby, who reveals to his dad in the clip that he’s finally ready to settle down with a wife and start a family.

Same, Papa Bobby. Same.

Meanwhile, Frankie Delgado shares with his wife that he’s “trying to restructure his world,” which we believe is his way of saying he’s fighting like hell to nab some screen time this season.

“If the fans finally stop referring to me as ‘That One Guy Who Hangs Around Brody,’ I’ll consider this season a success.”

Fans also get a quick look at Kristin Cavallari’s return to ‘The Hills.’ Despite Kristin’s former co-stars pushing for her to return to ‘The Hills’ full-time following her split from husband Jay Cutler and the end of her E! reality show, Very Cavallari, it was reported last year that Kristin will only appear in two episodes of ‘The Hills’ “since Heidi and Audrina did ‘Very Cavallari.’”

“Damn. I thought for sure this show would’ve been cancelled before I had to hold up my end of that bargain.”

‘The Hills: New Beginnings’ returns Wednesday, May 12 on MTV.

  1. The cast said in 2016 during some special that The Hills was very scripted. Audrina and Brody never seriously liked eachother or dated, Kristin said her storyline with Justin was just for show and she was dating a camera man at the time. So it’s hard now to watch New Beginnings when they admitted none of the original stuff was real in the first place. So now I think everything on the new show is fake too.

  2. Heidi’s got the ugly Kim K crying face. Also, what is the deal with Spencer questioning Jason’s commitment to sobriety? I know he’s been to rehab at least twice but I’m rather curious what prompted that discussion.

  3. At least Stephanie’s not going to be there. I don’t see this going on for more than another season unless they bring in some fresh faces, and get rid of the stiff plastic ones.
