Chris Harrison Won’t Be Hosting ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ Season 7, Will Be Replaced By David Spade & Other Comedians

” …to hang out this summer, now that my schedule has been cleared.”

Chris Harrison’s temporary leave from The Bachelor franchise will continue as it has been revealed that the longtime host will not return to host Season 7 of Bachelor in Paradise.

According to Variety, the hosting role will be filled by celebrity comedians – including David Spade – who will serve as guest hosts in Chris’ absence.

This news comes months after Chris stated he was “stepping aside” temporarily from the franchise following a heap of controversy surrounding comments he made during an interview with former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay. During the interview, Chris defended ‘Bachelor’ contestant Rachael Kirkconnell after she had been labelled racist due to the resurfacing of questionable photos.

After coming under fire for his comments, Chris apologized and did not go on to host the “After the Final Rose” episode for Matt James’ season, with Emmanuel Acho stepping in to host in his place.

ABC and Warner Bros. TV did not comment on Chris regarding his future with ‘Bachelor in Paradise’ or ‘The Bachelor’ franchise. However, ABC did announce in March that the upcoming season of ‘The Bachelorette’ (with Katie Thurston) will be co-hosted by former ‘Bachelorettes’ Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe.

Sources say that viewer reaction to the upcoming season of ‘The Bachelorette’ could help determine the longtime host’s fate, Variety reports, while two separate sources claims it’s highly unlikely that he will return to host Michelle Young’s season of ‘The Bachelorette,’ which is set to air this fall. If he does make a comeback to the franchise, it would reportedly not be until Season 26 of ‘The Bachelor,’ airing in January 2022.

During a March interview on Good Morning America, Chris stated that he wants to return to the franchise and intends to do so.

“I believe that mistake doesn’t reflect who I am or what I stand for,” he told ‘GMA’ host Michael Strahan. “I am committed to the progress, not just for myself but also for the franchise, and this is a franchise that has been part of my life for the better part of 20 years and I love it.”

The same month, it was revealed that Chris hired power attorney Bryan Freedman, who previously represented Gabrielle Union in her dispute with America’s Got Talent.

  1. So the guy who should care, doesn’t.

The girl who did the thing is still employed by the show.

The guy who misspoke is out.

And why are those girls holding the 3rd one? This isnt cheerleading and she isnt a toddler. Way to let folks make you look like an idiot.

    Clown world.

  2. Take a look at the picture of Chris and David.

Chris was on David’s show called “Lights out with David Spade.”

Fast forward 73 weeks to today…….Chris is out and David is in!😂😂😂😂

    “Lights Out”…..Chris.

  3. Poor Chris…….he didn’t get a red rose. In this case, it was a black rose given to him by they show.😂

Now he can lay on his “Bed of Roses” (Bon Jovi), all day lone.

  4. Yikes…this is what happens when you speak on something you know nothing about. There he was trying to defend Rachael, it totally blew up in his face, she still hasn’t defended him for defending her, and now Rachael and Matt are back together and living their best lives, and Chris is unemployed. Sucks for him (and I genuinely mean that, one bad interview and now he’s temporarily black listed..that would suck for anyone) Maybe next time he’ll think before he speaks.
